About the property

Mountain Views From A Spacious, Newer Home

Outstanding newer home just minutes from Rocky Mountain National Park. Relax on the deck and enjoy breathtaking views of Twin Sisters and Estes Cone. Don't expect to enjoy the views alone - deer, elk and a variety of birds frequently visit. If you are feeling more active, walk out through the backyard and pick up the Prospect Mountain hiking trail to enjoy a 360 degree view of Estes Park, RMNP and the Continental Divide.

The 4 bedroom, 3 bath home includes a spacious open living, dining and kitchen area. Don't worry about going over your checked bag allowance because the home has a laundry room with newer front loading washer and dryer. Directv, wireless internet service, and local calls are also included with your rental.

When you aren't exploring Rocky Mountain National Park, the town of Estes Park is just 3 miles away. Enjoy shopping, restaurants and bars. Most weekends, you can head down to Bond Park to enjoy one of the many festivals. Visit the Stanley Hotel to see for yourself the inspiration for The Shining, or head to the hotel's whiskey bar to sample one of the best selections of whiskey in Colorado.

Summer might be the most popular time to visit Rocky Mountain National Park, but all four seasons have something special to offer. Summer opens up the whole park for hiking, driving over Trail Ridge Road, or flyfishing. Fall is a photographer's heaven with the spectacular autumn colors and the elk bugling all through the park and downtown. Winter opens up a new playground, with snowshoeing, cross / back country skiing, access to the Eldora ski area, and no crowds.

Please note that I only accept reservations for a maximum of 8 guests.

About Heather

Sometime during the last decade I developed a wanderlust. I love to travel and my job keeps me moving around the globe. Through my journey, I found that my favorite place to be is lost in the mountains.

Heather purchased this house in 2014

Why Heather chose Estes Park

In 2013, my wandering brought me to Estes Park for a couple of months and fell in love with Rocky Mountain National Park. RMNP kept a special place in my heart as I continued to move around and live out of a storage unit. When I decided it was time set down roots somewhere, Estes Park was the only town on the list. Until I can enjoy my home full time, I invite you to make this your home base for your vacation and I hope that you fall in love with Estes and RMNP like I did.

What makes this house unique

The close proximity to RMNP and Estes Park. The views from the front porch. Being able to walk out my door, and enjoy a 1 hour hike to the top of Prospect Mountain without having to set foot in a car.

Beautiful house in a beautiful location

  • 4 of 5

This house was perfect for a family vacation of 8. There is a lovely common area which allowed my family to cook, do puzzles, watch movies, play games, eat meals together and hang out in general. The space of the house is broken up in a nice manner so that the bedrooms do not feel too close to the living area. My family enjoys cooking so we were grateful to find that the kitchen was stocked fully with dishes, pans, cooking utensils, spices and little amenities such as dishwashing liquid, coffee filters, etc. The house was stocked with cleaning supplies, hand soap, toilet paper, laundry detergent and garbage bags which was a great convenience for my family coming in out of town and not needing to buy all of those once we got here.

The location was great as well. We did the Emerald Lake hike in Rocky Mountain National Park which was about thirty minutes away. We were at the property over Christmas and it became very windy and too cold for us to hike on other days but we drove on Trailridge into the RMNP and were able to stop at different points and have great views of mountains as well as see wildlife such as elk and a coyote.

My family also appreciated that the owner of the property checked in with us during our stay to make sure things were going smoothly. She was always very responsive and had suggestions when we asked her questions. My brother was hoping to watch a football game and Heather suggested a couple local sports bars for him to do so.

One thing that we would have found to be helpful would be a manual for how to work the TV. No one in my family has ever had Direct TV so it took a bit of figuring out on our part and I think it might be helpful for guests to know how to work the TV, what is accessible on it (what channels, Netflix, Pandora, etc.)

Beautiful home for our family of eight.

  • 5 of 5

This home worked so well for our family to meet for Thanksgiving. Heather was amazingly easy and professional in our process of booking her home. Very easy check in and departure process as well. The home was perfect for our adult daughters, husbands and two grandchildren. We rent homes for all our trips, this was by far the most equipped kitchen and perfect for preparing our Thanksgiving feast. The beds were very comfortable, and bedrooms nicely placed to have privacy and their own baths. We enjoyed the Estes area for the Holiday, a lot of activities and beautiful holiday lighting.

The views from the large dining room table were amazing!!! We would definitely rent this home again.

GREAT house, well equipped, poorly stocked

  • 4 of 5

The house was wonderful. Each bed/bath combination is nice and private, everything is in good condition, and the views are amazing. It boasts the best-equipped kitchen I've ever seen in a vacation rental.

The only reason it doesn't get 5 stars is because some really basic things were missing when I arrived: salt, cooking oil, paper towels, TP (other than half-used rolls on the spindles), shower soap. I've never had a vacation rental that didn't include these basics. I expect it was just a blip, and it's easily corrected. But I can't give 5 stars when I had to make an emergency run to the store as soon as I arrived, and more trips when I discovered more missing basics.

Awesome home away from home! This property was clean, well equipped, in a great location with a view of the mountains, and even though it is located in a neighborhood-it was very quiet. The second bedroom on the main floor was rather tiny, but all the other rooms had plenty of room. We enjoyed sitting on the deck first thing in the morning especially. Heather was great to work with, even providing some info about the surrounding areas. Don't be fooled by the info on Prospect Mt. behind the house; it was not easy!

Beautiful, comfortable, clean

  • 5 of 5

We had a great visit to Estes Park last week and especially enjoyed staying at this property. After long mornings of hiking we were happy to come back to this home to shower, rest and enjoy the views. It was such a nice place to stay. The owner was very helpful and does a great job keeping the house in good condition. The next time we are back this will be the first place we look at staying.

  • 5 of 5

Home was immaculate! Wonderfully appointed. Well laid out. Great amenities! We have a family of 6 (Mom/Dad and 4 kids....ages 6-13) and it was wonderful for our family! Very roomy!

Location is perfect....views from the front deck are outstanding! Had visitors (grazing deer) almost every morning!

Heather is very prompt to answer any questions (recommendations, etc).

Would definitely stay here again and not hesitate to recommend to anyone!!! Thank you Heather!

Great meals at Baba's (Burgers & Hot good after a long day hiking) and Poppy's Pizza (best service we have ever had..ask for Sergio to be your server!).
