3 bedroom farmhouse with 3 fireplaces and creek

Welcome to Stilton Cottage!

Classic 1880s farmhouse, completely restored, with babbling brook, minutes from the Taconic and the village of Millbrook, close to Rhinebeck, Bard, & Omega

This totally renovated 1880 farmhouse sits in the hamlet of Salt Point, in convenient proximity to the Villages of Millbrook, Rhinebeck and the Taconic State Parkway. While it is distinguished as a landmark by the Town of Clinton Historical Society, it has been renovated for comfortable living while retaining much of its original beauty. It boasts THREE fireplaces, antique doors and hardware, beautiful hard wood floors, built-in shelving and handsome exposed beams.

A seamless 2005 addition to the house provides a beautiful new kitchen with granite counters and stainless steel appliances. It flows nicely into the dining room and opens wide into the expansive living room, perfect for entertaining family and friends. A spacious, light filled conservatory opens to a slate terrace at the rear of the house, overlooking the frontage on the Wappingers Creek.

Close to Millbrook, Rhinebeck, Omega. 0.5 miles from the Taconic, 20 mins to Poughkeepsie, Rhinecliff or Dover Plains train stations.

A lovely country escape

  • 4 of 5

The house is truly a home! It is comfortable and completely outfitted with whatever you might need. The beds are great, the linens are ample and the kitchen stocked with all kinds of gadgets. The atmosphere is in keeping with the historic nature of the Hudson Valley which is why we were there. We found a great restaurant in Millbrook... Maura's Kitchen and Greg with Millbrook Taxi for the night we didn't want to drive. We truly enjoyed our stay in your lovely home!

Wonderful, cozy spot for a family gathering.

  • 4 of 5

Lovely home that was well-stocked for all our basic needs. We enjoyed the use of "Alexa" for music. It was warm enough to open the windows, and we enjoyed hearing the babbling brook as we fell asleep at night. Great stay!

Wonderful House for Friends

  • 5 of 5

We rented Lauren's and Justin's house for a group of friends who live far apart from one another, and found it to exceed our expectations. The house is perfect for people who wish to spend a weekend with one another, cooking meals for each other and gathering by the stove. As others have stated, the kitchen is well appointed and provides everything necessary. The rooms are comfortable and charming, and everybody slept very well.

Lauren and Justin thoughtfully provided a guide to the house and area several days before our departure, which answered any questions we had. I recommend their house unreservedly to anyone who would like to visit Duchess County any time of year.

Lovely Farm House

  • 4 of 5

The house is perfectly situated for exploring Dutchess County, no more than a 30-minute drive to every place we wanted to visit. The downstairs rooms, bedrooms and bath were comfy, clean and well-maintained. The kitchen was clean and well stocked; however, the coffee mugs & glasses were dirty--just rinsed and put away. We put everything we used in the dishwasher for the next visitor, but there was no dishwasher detergent. We didn't do much cooking, but the inside of the oven and toaster oven were filthy. We had a problem, which will not affect future guests: the owner had told us that there might be some noise due to work on the bridge adjacent to the house. Actually, the front of the house was a construction zone--the workers and their heavy machinery arrived at about 6:30am each morning & woke us up with an "alarm" of moving concrete and chainsaws. The owner checked in with us and apologized sincerely. He was also promptly responsive to emails and texts. Our evenings were peaceful and we enjoyed the living room and fireplace. We would definitely recommend this property to our friends.
