About Lukasz Bartosik

We live and work in Ottawa but have been coming back to the same area around Barry's Bay for well over 30 years. As a family, we enjoy canoe tripping, sailing, swimming, skiing and skating.

Lukasz Bartosik purchased this cottage in 2013

Why Lukasz Bartosik chose South Algonquin

We have vacationed on several lakes in the area for well over 20 years. We choose to build a cottage on Aylen Lake for its remoteness and peacefulness. It may be an extra 20 minutes drive than most other cottages in the Barry's Bay area, but the vast clean and clear waterway that it offers along with the few neighbours that are visible due to the kilometres of crown land that share the shoreline, are well worth it!

Hearing the call of the loon, the screech of an owl or the howling of wolves in the distant background are the sounds that you will be falling asleep to on a nightly basis during the summer months. The proximity of Algonquin Park not only offers direct access to hundreds of kilometres of canoe routes but countless day trips, the Algonquin Park Visitor Centre, Outdoor Theatre and Logging Museum.

If you want a quiet, peaceful experience in Canada's wilderness with all the modern amenities, this is the place!

Outstanding nature retreat!!

  • 4 of 5

My family and I shared a wonderful week on Aylen lake. The swimming from the dock was fantastic, weed free, and had a nice gradual entry for small children. The cottage came with all modern amenities, while still maintaining a nice cottage feel. All bed linens were provided which was an added bonus! Wifi access is limited which was excellent as it forced all the adults to unplug and enjoy all the wonders of nature surrounding them! Everyone enjoyed time out in the boat fishing and all relaxed in the evenings around the campfire. A few more adirondack chairs would be a welcome addition as there was only spots for 4 to sit at a time. My family have vacationed each summer at various cottages around Ontario and this by far was our favourite. We will definitely be back! Thank you for opening your cottage to us.

Serene escape on a quiet lake!

  • 5 of 5

We were looking for somewhere to spend a week outside of the city and this cottage was the perfect escape! The cottage had everything we needed. An hour on the dock with a coffee before breakfast became our morning ritual and evening star gazing to the chorus of loons and wolves was the perfect way to unwind before bed. Days were spent canoeing, swimming or just relaxing on the dock. Or take a drive to Algonquin to explore a few of their hiking trails. We were sad to leave and look forward to going back soon!

Beautiful house in a beautiful, remote setting!

  • 5 of 5

We came as a group of adult friends (6 people total) and had a total blast hanging out at the cottage on a hot summer weekend. It's a remote setting -- a good ways down a dirt road off a small highway -- but it means it is silent at night. Neighbors are few and far between, you can see a ton of stars, and the lake was still and gorgeous. The house is so well-appointed; everything we could need was already provided. It's modern and well furnished and the owners were really accommodating and helpful in their correspondence. We had a really great time and would gladly return!

Luxury in the Bush

  • 5 of 5

The cottage was first class. A beautiful home designed to fit a remote setting. Everything was as advertised and more. Clean, well stocked, and ready to relax. Lots of wood cut and stacked down to the kindling indoors and out. Be careful with the canoe if you are by yourself as the wind can be tricky. I'm not much of a swimmer but the water was clean and shallow for anyone who is. The quiet is remarkable. I really enjoyed our stay.

Can't Wait To Go Back !

  • 5 of 5

How many times have you seen something advertised online that was either strategically photographed or they forgot to mention some details in the description (Like oh by the way.. The house sits right next to a dump !)

Well this was certainly not the case ! Beautiful home.. Next to a fantastic lake.. It was absolutely perfect !

Not too far from the park to do some day trails.. and pretty close to Barry's Bay for supplies.

You have a wonderful place and we can't wait to visit again !
