About Rick & Bonnie
The cabin is rich in history, built over 45 years ago, as part of a small family run fishing resort on Park Lake. Bruce and Shirley Stevenson purchased the resort in 1988 relocating from Chicago. They ran the fishing resort for many years before retiring. Many family and friends still return to enjoy the lake activities of fishing, sailing, kayaking, snowmobiling and sunsets. Family members, Rick and Bonnie have recently acquired and renovated the “large bass” cabin-condo for all to enjoy the simplicity of getting-away, spending time together, and meandering Columbia and Sauk Counties.

It has everything you need.
It is a nice cabin for two people which is exactly what we wanted for a getaway weekend. It has everything you need, Electricity, heat, AC, kitchen appliances, fully appointed small bath, plenty of seating options, pots, pans, cutlery and utensils. The Wi-Fi is OK, but there is a line of CAT6 cable that will stretch to any part of the cabin. There are plenty of towels and everything is clean. Though the shower curtain could use a cleaning on the bottom edge.
DO NOT sleep in the pullout King bed unless you like sleeping on a board. My back still hurts. The pad for the bed is about 4" thick. There is a full size bed in the actual bedroom. We are both Wisconsin-sized people, but the full-size bed is MUCH more comfortable.
I'm a tech person by trade so I bring my gadgets, Phone, Tablet, Laptop and I like to do a little IT stuff when I am on vacay because I have time to think and be creative. The Wi-Fi worked well. Cell service is not good, at least for Sprint, but then again, is Sprint service good anywhere? There are many outlets, but they are almost all taken. Bring an extension cord, though there is a small one in the basket on top of the fridge. There is one in the bedroom behind the little nightstand has USB ports, one 4A, and two 1A. Bring your charging blocks.
The shower is small, suds the walls and spin. Like a cruise ship. Water pres. is good though.
My wife walks with a cane so getting in and out of the cabin is a bit tricky as there are three steps to get in and no hand rail. Also, if you arrive at night the exterior light is not on at the entrance and the path is not paved so walking can be a little tricky. There is a porch light once you get in. If you arrive when it is dark, just bring your phone/flashlight and the door code to the door, I had my hands full trying to be efficient and had a heck of a time with the door. You need to punch in the code, and pull the door towards you hard for the deadbolt to release. If you don't it sounds like it works, and it will flash green, but it sticks. It is a cabin, it is not the Ritz Carlton. :)
The cabin faces the road and is only about 50' from the road. you hear every car that goes by. We were there on a cold fall weekend, but I imagine in the height of Harley season (I own one myself) this could be rather noisy as it is a nice drive.
There is a great view of the lake, just don't plan to fish it. The Lake Assoc. is bonkers. See Lake Link.
I recommend the Caddy Shack for great burgers!
Adorable and convenient place to getaway with everything you need
This was cutest little cottage for us to getaway to for Labor Day weekend. It was clean, well decorated and stocked with everything you need and more. We grilled out on the charcoal grill and cooked dinner in the kitchen all three days. The place sits right across the street from the lake and has a perfect sitting area with a firepit to watch the sunset. It’s right near the heart of the adorable town of Pardeeville and close to a Kwik Trip and Piggly Wiggly for everything you need. Highly recommend checking out the liquor and boat store they recommend! We rented a pontoon both days to get out on the quaint lake and explore. Thank you for having us!
We’re so happy you enjoyed your stay, and we had a chance to meet you two. Hope the weather is better next time you head our way.

Nice place to stay
There were 2 of us so it was just right. Nice sunsets & relatively little road traffic. Easy to get to Wisconsin Dells & other areas. Very nice inside, tastefully decorated. Would recommend!
Wedding Anniversary Celebration
The perfect place for my wife and I to celebrate our wedding anniversary! The cottage is very clean and exactly as described. For the price of what you'd expect to pay for a hotel room you get your own four walls, full functioning kitchen (although we didn't really use because we instead went to local restaurants), internet/wi-fi, smart TV (with Netflix included), charcoal grill, propane fire-pit and best of all, stunning views of Park Lake! We took advantage of the proximity to Devils Lake State Park as well as brought our kayaks to paddle around Park Lake that is conveniently right across the street from the cottage. The cottage lies just outside of Pardeeville, a small town of just over two thousand residents that is a quiet and very friendly town with great amenities. I would highly recommend staying here for anyone looking for a quiet getaway and enjoys outdoor activities. Next time we will have to bring our bikes as there are several biking paths mapped out with markers all around Pardeeville and the countryside. The owners were very responsive via messaging within the VRBO app and email. I only wish we had had the opportunity to meet them, perhaps next time, as we will definitely be back!
Thank you for the wonderful review. You were perfect guests and next time you stay, we hope to meet you two.
Again, many thanks

Perfect getaway for a small party of people!
A quaint, recently renovated cottage with beautiful finishes that’s perfect for a small party of people. There are two beds- one full in the bedroom and one king size pull-out. Included in the price is a charcoal grill, gas campfire, air conditioning, a smart TV with Netflix, a kitchenette with all necessary cooking supplies, and fresh towels and linens. The cottage is across the street from a beautiful lake that has a boat landing just down the road. It was perfect to walk our kayaks down and go for a ride. There’s a beach around the lake - you can kayak over there or drive. The sunrises and sunsets are easily seen from the bay window and are breath taking over the lake. The location of this cottage is a dream: it’s quiet because you’re not in the heart of a summer tourist town but it’s very close the Dells (30 min drive) and Devils Lake State Park (40 min drive). If you’re lucky enough, the owners will be around as they have a cottage just across the parking lot. Bonnie and Rick are so accommodating and dedicated to making your stay the best it can be. (Thanks for loaning us your kayak)! Overall, do not hesitate to book your stay- it’s well worth it!
Perfect Size and Privacy for the 2 of us!
The rental was perfect for the 2 of us to get away for a few days! It was great that we could get a small rental for such a good price since we were on our motorcycle and wanted to be able to keep an eye on it, which would be hard to do with a hotel parking lot. The cabin was cute, comfy, and the perfect location, too! Thank you and we hope to be back soon! Rick and Angie Cook
