We raised our children making memories at this cabin. Peaceful, serene but fun at the same time. No big hills or steps, just steps from the cabin door to the beach.

Owner's Response: We are sorry the beds did not meet your expectations. The queen Murphy bed is newer and past guests have commented on how comfortable it is. The cabin rental is priced accordingly to reflect its size and rustic nature. We believe it offers an outstanding value to guests who want to vacation without paying hundreds more per week. Since your stay, we have added a paver patio, new ceiling fan, and lighting. We continue to make improvements on the property, while striving to keep it the lowest possible price.

Small cabin, great yard and beach, worth it

  • 4 of 5

For the price it was well worth it. Had a big yard to play games in and let the kids run around, quiet neighborhood and nice beach. Had to rake the weeds, but the beach is very sandy with a gradual slope. The kids loved it and the adults too! Decent fishing off the dock for panfish which everyone enjoyed. Also nice to have a place to dock your boat which I enjoyed. They have a canoe available for use also. Great views and wonderful sunsets, especially sitting around the fire by the beach. Would have been nice to have a second sink outside the bathroom but we made do. Wasn't quite sure where to park either. The only downside was the cabin was a bit musty and could smell it on our blankets and stuff when we got home. Overall, had a wonderful experience and will rent this cabin again.

A week at the Lake

  • 5 of 5

I enjoyed my stay on Lake Calhoun and enjoyed exploring Spicer and New London. Both great communities.

My children and grandchildren were able to visit once or twice and we made lasting memories. My grandson, Henry, celebrated his 2nd birthday at the cabin.

My grandson, Jase, age 4 wanted to know if he could live here.

Fun family vacation! :)

  • 5 of 5

Comfortable beds. Kids enjoyed the loft area. Great fishing for smaller fish like sunnys, bass, perch and small northern using the dock or a boat. We enjoyed swimming, on windy days there tended to be alot of seaweed. VERY QUIET and got alot of family time in. The cabin is small but comfortable. Very short drive to Spicer. Only one sink located in the bathroom was only downside.
