About Rhonda Sullivan

We visited Sanibel for the first time following the devastation of Hurricane Charlie in 2004. We traveled by car more than 1500 miles with our 4 children in tow and spent every day enjoying the beaches, activities, wildlife, and local flair. We fell in love, and since that visit have looked for our forever piece of paradise. It is our serenity; our perfect little piece of the island, and we are happy to share it with you . . . knowing you will fall in love as we did!

Rhonda Sullivan purchased this house in 2014

Why Rhonda Sullivan chose Sanibel Island

This home is for the nature lovers. It is quiet, hearing only the wind blowing through the bamboo, wildlife, the surf on a windy day, and the occational ring tone from the neighbor's phone! The native vegetation surrounds the property, secluding you from the outside world. This property is away from the hustle and bustle of the East end.

What makes this house unique

The beach is our pool, but a 15 minute, 2.9 mile bike trip down the sanibel bike path takes you to the sanibel recreation center, where there is a pool and water park. The wildlife refuge, C.R.O.W., (a refuge and rehabilitation for wounded wildlife), resturaunts, and a small general store with ice cream are all within three miles of the home.

A month at Turtle Time

  • 5 of 5

We just enjoyed a month-long stay at "Turtle Time" in the Sanibel Bayou North neighborhood. It's a charming 2-bed, 2-bath home with refreshing "beachy" décor - easy to clean laminate flooring, bright pops of color & pattern contrasting with white walls, a sunny open living/dining/kitchen space. Kitchen was very functional; shiny & roomy dishwasher and fridge both appeared to be brand-new. Lots of counter and cabinet space. Slipcovered couches w/cheery pillows and a wall-mounted flat-screen TV in the living room area. In between the living room and kitchen was a big dining table with lots of elbow room and comfy chairs. Bed had good mattress, nice linens and perfect pillows, which meant we slept soundly every night (or maybe that was due to daily beach time, walks and bike rides?). Very clean and uncluttered. But the NUMBER ONE selling point is the GREAT ACCESS to Bowman's Beach, a great public beach on Sanibel, and to the shared-used bike/walking trails that span the island. From the front door to the shell-strewn beach it's an easy 15-20 minute walk. By bike, you can be there in less than 5 minutes. Loved being on the QUIET side of Sanibel, away from more bustling and commercial parts of the island. Two miles west is the bridge to Captiva. Three miles east is the entrance to the Ding Darling Wildlife Refuge. Great bike rides in either direction via the trail (which is more lightly used on this part of the island.) We biked to Bailey's for provisions, to Gramma Dot's for lunch, and to most of the other public beaches and access points on the island. We brought our bikes, but rental provides several. More highlights of this rental: full-size washer and dryer, gas grill, patio, deck, great AC and ventilation (kept temperatures at an even level), dog-friendly (our dog enjoyed daily beach visits, plus several walks a day through neighborhood where he even made a new doggie friend). Owner Rhonda was very helpful when we had questions. All in all, highly recommend!

Winter Getaway

  • 3 of 5

This home is in a beautiful location within about half a mile of Bowman's Beach. It was delivered neat and clean with a well appointed kitchen with all the appliances and utensils needed for a month long stay. The bicycles and beach chairs were a nice addition. Unfortunately, the sliding glass doors and screens were difficult to operate making access to the deck inconvenient. The owner sent a relative, but not a professional repair person, to address this issue. They were not able to fully address the issue and the problem continued throughout our stay. Other than this issue the property was nice and we enjoyed our stay. Hopefully, the owner will properly address this issue for future renters.

Owner's Response: I'm sorry your stay did not meet your expectations. My brother that remodels homes for a living assessed that the new sliding glass doors were not installed correctly, and to fully correct the problem, the doors would have to be removed and replaced correctly. This would have been an intrusive repair during your stay. The current renters said that they have not had problems with the function of the doors since the repairs. I've never tried so hard to ensure the comfort and accommodations of our renters as I had for this family.

Relaxing time at this lovely private home

  • 5 of 5

This a lovely get away home tucked away in a private neighborhood, yet close to all of the 'vacation' activities you could want. The beach and Ding Darling are very close. Walks around the block and on the bike path were lovely. This two bedroom house is cute, clean, casual chic and very comfortable. The owners are very caring, responsive and easy to work with. I loved sitting out on the porch, listening to the the birds while reading. You really feel like you are in a tropical paradise. We will be coming back!!! Would definitely recommend to others!

Beautiful and Relaxing

  • 5 of 5

Absolutely loved my time spent at his beautiful Sanibel vacation home. Great location!!! This home is located in a lush, tropical setting that is peaceful and relaxing. The home is clean and well maintained. It is well equipped with respect to the kitchen area, linens, washer/dryer, internet, bikes, etc.. The home owners, Jason and Rhonda, are very generous and pleasant to work with. They took time to answer my questions about the island and helped me plan a great vacation. Bowman's beach is within walking distance and considered one of the best beach locations on Sanibel. The beach is secluded with no hotels and great for finding seashells. There is restrooms, an outdoor shower, and picnic area as well as nature trails. Biking paths allow for easy travel around the island and there are great shops, restaurants, and places to see. Sanibel is truly a relaxing and safe place to vacation with lots of fun to be had by all. Jason and Rhonda provided me with everything I needed for a wonderful, relaxing stay. I would highly recommend this property and I can't wait to go back!
