Our rental is a short walk away from Butterfly Beach, The Biltmore Hotel, Coast Village Road and is close to other wonderful amenities in Montecito, CA. Most of the home has been recently renovated, and has 2 bedrooms with queen sized beds and 2 full bathrooms. One bathroom is an en suite with the master bedroom, and the other is in the hallway, next to the 2nd bedroom. We have a cool, comfortable living room, that is ready for cocktails, games or getting cozy by candlelight. We provide bath and beach towels, as well as a kitchen that is ready for you to live and entertain in! Please note that we live next door to the property so we are on-site for any issues that may arise. This rental is in a quiet residential neighborhood, so quiet hours are from 10pm- 7am. About Krista Simundson

I am a Realtor, a baker, a surfer and a wife. I have lived in Santa Barbara since I started at UCSB in 1999. While I have worked and lived abroad and even moved to Vermont to attend Graduate School, Santa Barbara has always been my home.

Krista Simundson purchased this bungalow in 1963

Why Krista Simundson chose Montecito

I wasn't born in 1963 when this home was purchased, but our rental was purchased by our family matriarch, and we plan on keeping it in the family forever.

What makes this bungalow unique

Our rental home is a short walk to one of the most gorgeous beaches in Santa Barbara and Montecito. We walk to Butterfly Beach every morning or evening to watch the waves, smell the salt air and remember how blessed we are to live here.

The Four Seasons Biltmore is also just down the street, and you could rent our home for about half the price of a regular hotel room there. However, it is a wonderful place to stop in for a drink and watch the sun go down.

Coast Village Road in Montecito is also just around the corner, and is walkable. You can find cafes, restaurants, shops and conveniences such as CVS And Vons on Coast Village Road.

Perfect location by Butterfly Beach and close to town, walking distance for both.

  • 5 of 5

Krista and Brad have a great vacation rental in Montecito! It is so conveniently located within walking distance to Butterfly Beach and into town. My husband and I stayed with our two older teenage sons and a girlfriend. The house is very comfortable, and they've included a lot of little details to make your stay more enjoyable. It has an adorable little backyard and there is a BBQ grill too. We would definitely stay again, and highly recommend!

Amazing location, loved walking to beach, terrific kitchen, grill - very comfortable.

  • 5 of 5

Krista was helpful with suggestions for walks, shopping, etc. Loquats were ripe in secluded backyard - delicious. Grilled the two nights we were there. S.B. farmers market tops. Did walk almost to wharf at low tide and enjoyed stopping for a beer at the Four Seasons on our way back. Of course, we hope to repeat this adventure. And thanks for the wine and flowers. Rita

Had a great time. Held our family of five perfectly. Clean, clean, clean. The early morning roosters have been replaced by Train whistles that we actually found nostalgic and comforting. The owners are really kind, friendly people that we enjoyed. Nice quiet street with a short walk to the ocean. Full deposit refunded within a week. Will be staying again.

Thanks Again!

Great Weekend Getaway

  • 5 of 5

This place is in the perfect location. A true 5 minute walk to the beach and downtown. Four of us stayed in the house and couldn't have been happier with how everything worked out. Krista and Brad (the owners) were accessible and very gracious. We also had two dogs in tow and they loved it!

Excellent location

  • 5 of 5

We were half of two adult couples who stayed here for a long weekend and loved it. Very quiet (except for nearby train whistles), walking distance to the beach and the lovely main street in Montecito where wonderful restaurants, lounges and coffee shops abound. The home is comfortable and for a small bungalow, spacious and smartly appointed. Spotlessly clean with comfortable linens and beds helped us really enjoy our busy weekend. We went for a great sail with Sunset Kidd; highly recommended. Had drinks at the Honor Bar, dinner at Cava, and breakfast at Jeanine's, and every morning starting out with coffee from Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf in Montecito - all within an easy 10-15 minute walk. Drinks and dinner at the Biltmore terrace lounge were yummy. Plow and Angel terrace sunset dinner (San Ysidro Guest Ranch a 10 minute drive away) was delicious but erratically priced (WAY over for some things, but not for others.) Wine tasting in Lompoc was fun and an easy, beautiful drive. Thanks for the wine, Krista and Brad!

Perfect Place to Stay in the Santa Barbara Area

  • 5 of 5

We recently spent 8 days in Montecito at this comfortable and livable home with our 2 teenage children on Spring Break. The house was perfectly located for daily walks to the most beautiful beach in the area. At low tide you can literally walk to the harbor in Santa Barbara. Besides the convenient location to the beach, it is also a quick and easy walk into town for breakfast, lunch or dinner and some fabulous shopping. You can literally park your car and relax. The beds in the house are extremely comfortable with high quality linens and pillows. We all slept very well. The backyard is private and a great place for some sun and a glass of wine. The house came equipped with high end bath soaps and even laundry detergent which always comes in handy for a week long vacation. The house is pet friendly, modern, very clean and comfortable. We will definitely be back as our daughter is a student at UCSB and we just fell in love with the area.

Our home is a short walk from Butterfly Beach and the Four Season's Biltmore. We are also a short walk from the shops and restaurants on Coast Village Road.

Montecito and Santa Barbara are considered the American Riviera. We are beautifully situated between the Ocean and the mountains, so it is a paradise for the active person or family. Surfing, swimming, stand up paddling, hiking, biking and golfing are some of the activities that you can find right outside your door.

Our home boasts avocado, orange and loquat trees and you are welcome to help yourself to the fruit while you are a guest here. Our favorite feature of our home is that we can walk to the beach and watch the sunrise, sunset and all the beauty in between. The beach is great for walking, swimming, building sand castles, learning to surf or SUP etc...
