Our modern 2-bedroom, 1 bathroom house is the perfect base camp for folks visiting Glacier National Park, Whitefish and the Flathead Valley. The house has a charming open floor plan in the living area. The spacious master bedroom has a sliding glass door to the fenced backyard. The second bedroom is bright and sunny. For outdoor enthusiasts, we are in the perfect location. River’s Edge Park is just a few minutes away – walking trails and river access for exercise, relaxation, inner tubing, rafting or fishing. We are walking distance to all of downtown Columbia Falls – Montana Coffee Traders, Three Forks Grille, Smith’s Grocery store, Perfect Cuts butcher shop, North Fork Pizza, Base Camp Café (breakfast). You can shop locally for dinner, cook in our well-appointed kitchen and eat in our lush backyard. The yard is sunny, well landscaped with mature trees and bushes and has a fire pit. Being 10 miles to the town of Whitefish and 20 minutes to Glacier National Park allows for quick access to everything you want to do in the Flathead Valley. The Columbia Falls bike path is right out the front door. There is off street parking and a washer and dryer.
Brian and Jessica are outdoor enthusiasts, both involved in the resort industry of the Flathead Valley. We have worked in the hospitality business for over ten years.
We love the convenience of town, the access to the National Park and the vibe of the local community.
Our house is comfortable, clean and modern. Walking distance to the River's Edge Park and only 15 miles to the west entrance of Glacier National Park, our house is the perfect base camp for exploring the great wilderness of Montana. We are walking distance to Downtown Columbia Falls and 10 miles from the bustling town of Whitefish.
I stayed four nights in August with my wife and two kids (10 and 14) and we loved it. The house is lovely, well kept with nice details that show it's a home. The owners provided useful information about local restaurants and activities and hikes, all of which we used and enjoyed. Sleeping was comfy and quiet, the neighborhood and local park more than picturesque, and (of course) Glacier National Park was close enough to roll out of bed into. One thing to note if you're going to Glacier: Get there early for parking! Enjoy.
This lovely home was just as all the photos had shown: clean, comfortable and spacious. We wanted a two bedroom home / cottage with queen beds and a full kitchen...and this really fit the bill.
Beds were comfortable...bedrooms large...there were ceiling fans in main bedroom and living room...with regular fans in closets. The kitchen had everything we could have wanted to cook simple to full meals: we chose to have our breakfasts there; make lunches to take on day trips into the park; and eat most supper meals along the way or back in Columbia Falls. We didn't use the patio or back yard much, but there was a grill and fire pit area, with plenty of outdoor chairs.
The owner communicated wonderfully during the planning of our trip (often within hours of a question)...and had sent us great directions to the house and arrangements for getting keys upon arrival. A booklet and letter and a white board note welcomed us on arrival, with extra info. Included were the names of local places to eat: Laura's Deli was quick and light...while Tien's had the best Mongolian Beef we'd ever eaten. We didn't bring a laptop and had only "dumb phones"...so communication after arrival was spotty (our fault)...but no problem.
We spent most of our time in and around Glacier National Park: Going to the Sun Road was spectacularly beautiful, while the driving was a bit unnerving for lowlanders; a boat and hike from Many Glacier in to Grinnell Lake was lovely; and a drive along and boat trip over St. Mary's Lake provide many great photo ops without the white knuckle driving. We also took a side trip to the Merc at Poleridge: funky little store with huckleberry bear claws to die for. Columbia Falls was close enough to the park for easy access, while offering reasonable shopping, restaurants, etc.
Would definitely recommend this home to friends, relatives or anyone planning a trip to the area.
We had a great time staying here:) It was so close to Glacier National Park and to a great river walking trail & park which we both enjoyed immensely! The house was so well kept, spacious, clean, comfortable and with a great yard. Also in great proximity to some great restaurants and all shopping needs. We so loved sitting on the back deck, watching our daughter play in the big yard, and seeing the sun set against the mountains!
We recently stayed in this adorable home while visiting our daughter in Whitefish. It is conveniently located between Glacier National Park and the beautiful Big Mountain Whitefish Resort. It was clean and well equipped , with a beautiful back yard and deck. The owners are great to work with and had lots of local info waiting for us. We highly recommend this property and will definitely be back. Thanks Jessica and Brian
This house is a "find," the kind you happily recommend to friends and family. From the outside, it's a small ranch house in a residential neighborhood of a small town situated just out of the heavy stream of tourism that runs between Glacier NP and Whitefish, MT. The neighborhood turned out to be peaceful and very pleasant, and the house was really nice inside, well furnished, well-maintained, perfectly clean, with a large and lovely backyard.
The owners were great to deal with. They have really put a lot of planning and care into making sure their guests have a good experience. They've included things you don't usually find in a rental cottage -- like good knives and cookware, an excellent coffee maker, a good stock of staples like soap and paper products, a solid wi-fi connection to name just a few. One small touch summed up their thoughtfulness for me -- a fresh scrub sponge, still in its wrapper, waiting on the kitchen sink. I believe that's a first in our 30 years of renting vacation homes!
The location turned out to be ideal -- 20 minutes closer to the park entrance than Whitefish, which makes a meaningful difference when you understand how long the roads are into and through the park. Columbia Falls also has decent stores and services for the basics, a couple of excellent restaurants, and sits less than 15 minutes from the airport.
After 10 days of staying in overpriced resorts and eating restaurant meals, it felt like coming home.
Great little house in a great little town! We are a family of four and had an excellent stay in this clean and comfortable house. Very comfortable beds and a nice deck and back yard to come home to after a day of adventures. The owners were friendly and respectful of our privacy. They added nice touches like a day hike guide and brochures for other local attractions etc.The kitchen was well equipped for all our meals including a gas grill on the deck. It was nice to have a grocery store in town(just a few minutes drive from the house) and an excellent butcher shop just a few blocks away. The washing machine and dryer were also great to have as well, don't need to pack as much. It was a short 20 minute drive to Glacier National Park, just far enough to get away from the crowds at the end of the day. Columbia Falls is a nice working class town with everything you might need while on vacation. We would definitely recommend this property to others!
West Glacier is 20 minutes away -- a great hub for guided fishing trips, scenic helicopter tours, and whitewater rafting. Flathead National Forest is easily accessible. Whitefish Mountain Resort has a wide variety of summer activities including downhill mountain biking, zip line tours and an aerial adventure park.
