Perfect romantic retreat peaceful with views that take your breath away
2 weeks of utter bliss in the lovely little cottage if you want to get away from everything this is the place - you will need a car as its 1.4 km up a mountain dirt track but this makes it even more idyllic as the only people you will hear or see is occasionally Daniele or the wood cutters. Evenings spent sipping wine outside with the amazing views eagles and owls flying over head and the lizards sunning themselves next to you while you have your morning coffee while looking for the occasional deer that graze in the meadow below. We had plans to visit Pisa Florence etc but no we loved the total peace and quiet so visited local sights eating at some lovely places or had BBQ's back at our hideaway. The cottage and pool were fantastic the locals very friendly and you are surrounded by nature s the cottage is in a meadow so loads of lizards crickets butterflies occasional snake and scorpion but this just adds to the experience. previous guests have left little things to use like a kettle and ice cube trays we left a wine stopper and there is copious amounts of olive oil and other herbs and spices and reading books. This is a magical place which will stay long in your memories.
I am very pleased to hear you had such an great time. The quite, mountainous views, pool and wild life is amazing I agree. So nice to just sit back and watch or listen to the sounds of nature while reading a book. The owners pride themselves on their hospitality so I know they will appreciate your kind words.
I am happy that you have made some memories here.
We hope to hear from you again in the future.
Perfect in every way
The cottage is perfect, the location is simply beautiful. Paradise in the mountains of tuscany. Wonderful hot days watching the wildlife by the pool. Wonderful local food. The true Italian experience. A huge thank you to Danielle. A total gentleman and wonderful host who helped us so much when we had a puncture.
I am very happy to hear you had the perfect holiday. I agree it is a paradise in the mountains and the views are stunning. I am glad you enjoyed the Italian cuisine as well as wildlife watching by the pool. Sounds very relaxing and peaceful. The hosts and owners always want to help in anyway they can to make sure you have the best experience.
I hope to hear from you again in the future

Exactly what it says on the tin
Our stay at Paradiso was fantastic, we where welcome by Daniele, who was very friendly and also provided us with fresh veg from his garden, then off he went and left us to it.
The house is small an comfortable and as everything you need. If you are after peace and quiet, I don't think you could find any better and hope to return in the future. Thanks to Daniele and Lorraine and the team at Tuscan Reteats
Thank you for your review.
Glad you loved the perfect peace and quiet, and we would all be happy to welcome you again.

Hidden gem with stunning views !
What an amazing part of Italy, stunning scenery set in the mountains with no neighbours ! Beautiful, relaxing and peaceful. Went for 50th birthday getaway and definitely away from busy noisy tourist traps ! Perfect location for us off the beaten track but not isolated - in reach of many towns and villages. We visited Lucca, Pisa, Florence (by train from Lucca - long day but very worthwhile) and Siena - stunning ! Also Barga, San Gimignano, Castelnuevo, Grotto del Vento and Fort at Verrucole - so many places and only 1 week to do it ! The owner Daniele was brilliant he managed to communicate with us despite our non existent italian ! Unfortunately the weather made it impossible for us to use the pool - too cold but would be perfect if temperatures were higher. He has created a beautiful haven at one with nature - pictures do not show quite how pristine and beautiful Il Paradiso is ! The cottage is equipped with every amenity required for a romantic getaway in the mountains and woods of Tuscany ! Daniele is a very talented man - he has created an amazing property to be extremely proud of - we could not fault it ! He sorted out WIFI, heating by woodchip fire - gorgeous - he recommended a lovely little pizzeria in next village - 15 mins by car it does take away too ! - best food and very reasonably priced - many thanks for everything. Would love to return and totally recommend this rental - we loved our stay in this gorgeous part of Italy.
Thank you for your review. It sounds like you had a wonderful time celebrating your birthday! I can't believe you managed to get so much travelling in! We hope to hear from you another time and Daniele sends his best wishes.

Amazing, beautifu, secluded

Thank you for your review Glad you enjoyed! Hope to hear from you again, Lorraine at tuscan-retreats
Excellent in the mountains, totally relaxing
The property is remote up a rough track and excellent if you want to get away from it all, having said that there is good internet connection.
Loved the stunning views. The fireflies that came out at night time, buzzards nesting close by and we saw a deer.
Near to a station to go by rail to Luca and other places.
Also near to visitor attractions.
The owner very helpful, especially when we lost our key, he fitted a new one within an hour of our initial call.
We would highly recommend this property for a relaxing getaway.
Situated 1.6km (mainly down unmade roads) from an ancient traditional Italian mountain village which has a bar and shop, which is ideal for essentials and sitting with a drink taking in local life.
A real retreat reached through woodland, this large open and flat area surrounded by the mountains is a complete surprise!
The property is also less than a 10 minute drive from the larger village of Piazza al Serchio with all facilities including traditional shops, supermarket and Tuesday morning market when the small village really comes alive. There are also some bars, a couple of restaurants a river and a train station for easy exploring.
Whilst in the depths of the countryside, the house is well located for exploring the local market town of Catselnuovo which is a 20 minute or so drive, the gorgeous and popular mediaeval town of Barga which is a 35 minute drive and the stunning walled mediaeval city of Lucca which is say 1 hour and 10 minutes away. Pisa, with its leaning tower is a 90 minute drive, and one can visit Florence in 2 hours. The famous Wind Caves are a 45 minute drive.
Closer to home there are plenty of little historic villages to visit, many of which have local festas in the summer. There are also the lakes of Gramalazzo, Vagli (with its hidden village submerged by the water) and Pontecosi, and some guests love to swim in the river. The property is also ideally located for visiting the local Fortress at Verrucole which is a good afternoon out, with stunning views and some interactive activities for the children. Also close by is the Buffardello tree climbing and zip wire park (ideal for both adults and children of all ages with a variety of runs) where one can take a picnic and spend the entire day in the welcome shade of the forest.
The real beauty of this area is the dramatic mountain scenery, and the hundreds of hilltop villages to explore, endless picnicking opportunities, and the pure peace of a non touristy holiday ......
NB - approach road is unmade is bumpy in places going through woodland, and you need to be a confident country driver, but the owner will meet you and take you down to house for the first time so you can see best way to drive.
