Being 5 blocks away from historic Courthouse Square, our location allows you to walk to all of the sites and sounds of downtown Prescott, Courthouse Square and Whiskey Row. However, once you return to the cottage, you’re back to small town peace and quiet. A 5-minute drive due south will put you in the Prescott National Forest complete with hiking, canoeing, fishing, fabulous vistas and amazing air!

Prescott has an average of 275 days of sunshine per year and four mild seasons . The year-round activities have made it one of the top destinations in the Southwest. Prescott has been recognized as Arizona’s ‘official’ Christmas City so in December there are lots of fun things to do. You can be a part of the many people who stroll around the square to listen to the free, live, local music featured in every downtown shop for Acker night. A music festival like no other! In addition, you won't want to miss the spectacular tree lighting on the Courthouse Square and our Electric Light Parade. There are dozens of antique shops, boutiques, stunning art galleries, and restaurants. Enjoy the nightlife of Whiskey Row, as well as 3 live performance centers: The fully restored Elk's Opera House (c1915), the Prescott Center for the Arts, and Yavapai College Performing Arts Center.

There are also many golf courses in the area, including the breath-taking Hassayampa Golf Club; a Tom Wieskopf signature course.

Prescott is known internationally for the World’s Oldest Rodeo in July, the Prescott Bluegrass Festival in June, dozens of arts and craft shows (some juried), and the Cowboy Poets Gathering.

About Mark and Laurie Temple

Hello!

My name is Mark and my wife, Laurie, and I bought this property in February 2015 and just recently starting managing it ourselves. I grew up in Prescott just down the street on Mt Vernon Ave. and used to deliver newspapers on this street! Laurie and I have been raising our 2 boys in this beautiful little town and now have one at U of A and one at Prescott High School. Even though I graduated from ASU and the schools are big rivals here in Arizona I really enjoy rooting for my son's school too!

We love Prescott and since we have been here for so many years we have insider info of the area and can help with most everything. The people here are wonderful and there is always something happening.

I know you will enjoy your stay here and the many things Prescott has to offer!

Mark and Laurie Temple purchased this cottage in 2015

Why Mark and Laurie Temple chose Prescott

We purchased this property not just because it is located on the most historical street in Prescott but also because I grew up just down the block and have many fond memories of this area. Delivering newspapers, sledding and playing football in the street with the neighborhood kids. Everything that reminds me of a small town experience.

What makes this cottage unique

What I love about this property is that it reminds me of a simpler time. Quiet, tree lined street where you can take a walk in the cool early mornings and evenings. A nice quiet area in the back that can be enjoyed by guests and their pups. Being close to the downtown area with lots of things to do and then being able to return back "home" to relax.

All the Comforts of Home!

  • 5 of 5

The Aspen is a fantastic place to stay!! Not only is it spotless, it is nicely decorated and fully equipped, from the kitchen to the bedroom to the bath! The living room and dining area is plenty spacious. This cozy cottage, nestled on a lovely residential street, is truly a place that feels like home.

Cozy, comfortable place close to everything!

  • 5 of 5

We rented the Aspen cottage for 6 weeks. We cannot say enough good things about the owners. Laurie and Mark Temple. They were receptive to any requests we had and went above and beyond what we expected. We highly recommend this one bedroom cottage for either a short or long term stay!

It is a very cute cottage tucked away from the road. We will be back.

We had a good experience overall. It did become quite warm during the day and there is not central air or a cooler in the window of the living room. There was only a cooler in the bedroom which was not sufficient to keep the cottage comfortable during the day. Other than that we were very happy with our stay. We really like the location. It is a well kept cottage and yard. We also liked the backyard that our dogs enjoyed. Miya is very friendly and responsive. We will be back.

Felt it could have been a bit cleaner.

You'll need to take care of the small black bugs in the kitchen area. And your shower really leaks.

Not quite right

  • 3 of 5

The positives of this cottage are location, size, parking and attentiveness of the manager. On the downside, the cottage needs a thorough cleaning. Their were bugs in some drawers, on the kitchen floor and in the carpet. The cottage was very warm, we asked for fans and the manger was quick to accommodate. The ad states the cottage has air conditioning, however ac wasn't installed until our 2nd night after we requested it.
