About Mark and Laurie Temple

My name is Mark and my wife, Laurie and I bought this property in February 2015 and just recently starting managing it ourselves. I grew up in Prescott just down the street on Mt Vernon Ave. and used to deliver newspapers on this street! Laurie and I have been raising our 2 boys in this beautiful little town and now have one at U of A and one at Prescott High School. Even though I graduated from ASU and the schools are big rivals here in Arizona I really enjoy rooting for my son's school too!

We love Prescott and since we have been here for so many years we have insider info of the area and can help with most everything. The people here are wonderful and there is always something happening.

I know you will enjoy your stay here and the many things Prescott has to offer!

Why Mark and Laurie Temple chose Capital Territory & High Country

We purchased this property not just because it is located on the most historical street in Prescott but also because I grew up just down the block and have many fond memories of this area. Delivering newspapers, sledding and playing football in the street with the neighborhood kids. Everything that reminds me of a small town experience.

What makes this cottage unique

What I love about this property is that it reminds me of a simpler time. Quiet, tree lined street where you can take a walk in the cool early mornings and evenings. A nice quiet area in the back that can be enjoyed by guests and their pups. Being close to the downtown area with lots of things to do and then being able to return back "home" to relax.

A charming place

  • 5 of 5

We thoroughly enjoyed our visit to this charming little place. It had everything we needed for a great stay. If we had chosen to cook, it had pots, pans, dishes and silverware; even a barbecue and place to dine in the yard. Our dog enjoyed the grassy yard and being able to go out during the night. It gave us peace of mind that he was safe in a totally enclosed yard. The house, itself, was well taken care of and very clean. The owner came by and mowed the yard while we were there. Prescott is one of our favorite places to visit. We were able to walk downtown easily and quickly from the little house. Within walking distance there were several good places to eat. Before our visit, the owners sent us a communication by email with all pertinent information such as check in and check out times; how to enter the property; fun things to do; check out procedures and more. Would we stay again? Absolutely!

Lovely Cottage

  • 5 of 5

This cottage was in a great location. It was just a few blocks from downtown and Acker Park which had walking trails. It was equipped with all the comforts of home. The owner was even kind enough to lend us an ice chest for a graduation party we hosted. We would love to stay again and highly recommend it.

Our Little Cottage

  • 5 of 5

This is our second year at Cedar Cottage. When we entered on January 31st we both felt that we had come to our winter home It is spotless and well equipped to make it practically perfect. I cook a lot and it has just about everything we need. What is missing I can get at the incredible second hand shops all through Prescott. We are hikers and start most morning with a three mile walk about downtown or across the street at Akers Park. We can ride up Senator Hwy and end up in Goldwater Lake to walk around the lake or go up a little further for many excellent hiking trails. We can walk downtown for breakfast or dinner for many varied and wonderful restaurants. The weather when we are there is cool in the morning and warmer by afternoon . The sun is very warm and we sit out often on the lawn or at the table at the side of the house. Prescott and Prescott Valley have all the stores that I could ever want, both for food and produce as well as clothing. One of the best thing about the cottage is Miya. She is the manager of the property and so willing to make your stay the best she can. She does that with her warmth and welcoming personality She will go out of her way to make your stay a wonderful experience. We try to re-book before we leave for next year as we would hate to miss our two months of spring/summer instead of the depths of winter..
