The Cedar cottage sleeps 2-6 people. Originally built in 1923, this cottage has been remodeled to include a sun porch, cathedral ceilings and many windows creating an abundance of natural light. The great room has a comfortable decor, sparkling clean tile floors, satellite flat-screen TV, queen sofa bed, fully outfitted kitchen and an overall feeling that is open and airy. Just off of the great room is the small but comfortable sun porch; a great place to enjoy your morning coffee or your afternoon wine. The master bedroom is carpeted and is complete with a new queen bed, beautiful linens, night tables with reading lamps, ceiling fan, Direct TV, large closet and dresser. It also has an outside door to a little porch. The secondary bedroom is carpeted and includes a new queen size bed with beautiful linens, ceiling fan, reading light, dresser, and a door that exits to the fenced yard. It does have one step down to the unit and 3 separate steps inside, it is non-smoking, pet friendly.
We LOVE dogs. Please feel free to bring 1 or 2 dogs with you (pet fee is applied). If your pups are socialized, we invite them to romp in the fenced yard with the dogs of other guests. In addition to the fenced yard, your dogs will love taking you just 2 blocks to Acker Park. Acker Park is 80 acres of natural parkland within the City of Prescott. Your 4-legged family members will particularly enjoy the one-mile loop trail.
Being 5 blocks away from historic Courthouse Square, our location allows you to take sidewalks to all of the sites and sounds of downtown Prescott, Courthouse Square and Whiskey Row. However, once home, you’re back to small town peace and quiet. Speaking of peace and quiet, a 5-minute drive due south will put you in the Prescott National Forest complete with hiking, canoeing, fishing, fabulous vistas and amazing air!
Prescott has an average of 275 days of sunshine per year and four mild seasons. The year-round activities have made it one of the top destinations in the Southwest. Prescott has been recognized as Arizona’s ‘official’ Christmas City so in December there are lots of fun things to do. You can be a part of the many people who stroll around the square to listen to the free, live, local music featured in every downtown shop for Acker night. A music festival like no other! In addition, you won't want to miss the spectacular tree lighting on the Courthouse Square and our Electric Light Parade. There are dozens of antique shops, boutiques, stunning art galleries, and restaurants. Enjoy the nightlife of Whiskey Row, as well as 3 live performance centers: The fully restored Elk's Opera House (c1915), the Prescott Center for the Arts, and Yavapai College Performing Arts Center.
There are also many golf courses in the area, including the breath-taking Hassayampa Golf Club; a Tom Wieskopf signature course.
Prescott is also known for the World’s Oldest Rodeo in July, the Prescott Bluegrass Festival in June, dozens of arts and craft shows (some juried), and the Cowboy Poets Gathering.

About Mark and Laurie Temple
Hello! My name is Mark and my wife, Laurie and I bought this property in February 2015 and just recently starting managing it ourselves. I grew up in Prescott just down the street on Mt Vernon Ave. and used to deliver newspapers on this street! Laurie and I have been raising our 2 boys in this beautiful little town and now have one at U of A and one at Prescott High School. Even though I graduated from ASU and the schools are big rivals here in Arizona I really enjoy rooting for my son's school too! We love Prescott and since we have been here for so many years we have insider info of the area and can help with most everything. The people here are wonderful and there is always something happening. I know you will enjoy your stay here and the many things Prescott has to offer!

Why Mark and Laurie Temple chose Prescott
We purchased this property not just because it is located on the most historical street in Prescott but also because I grew up just down the block and have many fond memories of this area. Delivering newspapers, sledding and playing football in the street with the neighborhood kids. Everything that reminds me of a small town experience.
What makes this Cottage unique
What I love about this property is that it reminds me of a simpler time. Quiet, tree lined street where you can take a walk in the cool early mornings and evenings. A nice quiet area in the back that can be enjoyed by guests and their pups. Being close to the downtown area with lots of things to do and then being able to return back "home" to relax.

Couldn't have been nicer!!!
Cedar Cottage is a great place to stay. It is in a pleasant neighborhood within walking distance of downtown Prescott, is very well maintained and spotless, quiet and is fully equipped with more supplies than one could imagine. Hosts Mark and Laurie couldn't be more pleasant and helpful. We'd recommend Cedar Cottage when visiting to Prescott to one and all.
We had a wonderful time at Cedar Cottage! The property was amazing.
The property owners were very caring and checked to make sure that we had everything we needed. We would definitely book this property again.
A very comfortable and quiet stay!
This property is located on a gorgeous street in an old historic neighborhood of Prescott. The shared backyard has a wonderful view of Thumb Butte and is quiet and secluded. The house itself is nicely furnished and very clean. I would definitely recommend this property for anyone looking to stay in Prescott for a vacation!
The cedar cottage was completely lovely! It is very nicely decorated, with a great location.
Mark & Laurie have thought of everything to make the cedar cottage a home away from home. The beds and linens were extremely cozy and comfortable. The photos don’t really do the rooms justice, and we enjoyed our time in such nice surroundings. It was very easy to come and go using the keypad, and the instructions provided by the owners made our stay easy. I also appreciated the many guide books and trail maps, and was able to do several hikes close by. Would highly reccomend!
Value for Money
We went for only a couple of nights. The directions were clear, and the cottage was warm and welcoming. It was impeccably clean. The neighborhood is quiet and if you are a history buff like me, a walk to the historic downtown is studded with some turn of the century architectural gems. It is a short walk to downtown and we spent most of our time over there.
Suggestions for improvement, the sofa that is supposed to open out as a bed needs to be placed in a way that it can be opened up. Right now it cannot be opened up in the way it is.
Awesome for families w/ well behaved pets!
Everything was super clean and nicely decorated. The Was plenty of room for all of us. It is right around the corner from town. I would highly recommend this house. Owner is super nice and helpful.
