The Cedar (two bedroom/one bath) cottage sleeps 2-6 people. Originally built in 1923, this cottage has been remodeled to include a sun porch, cathedral ceilings and many windows creating an abundance of natural light. The great room boasts urban chic decor, sparkling clean tile floors, satellite flat-screen TV, queen sofa bed, stereo, fully outfitted kitchen and an overall feeling that is open and airy. Just off of the great room is the comfortable sun porch; a great place to enjoy your morning coffee or your afternoon wine. The secondary bedroom is carpeted and includes another queen size bed, ceiling fan, reading light, crisp linens, dresser, and lovely soft colors.

We LOVE dogs. Please feel free to bring yours. If your pups are socialized, we invite them to romp in the fenced yard with the dogs of other guests. In addition to the fenced yard, you dogs will love taking you just 2 blocks to Acker Park. Acker Park is 80 acres of natural parkland within the City of Prescott. Your 4-legged family members will particularly enjoy the one-mile loop trail: lots of great smells, bushes, and places to run. A reasonable pet fee will apply to your stay in Cedar Cottage.

Being 5 blocks away from historic Courthouse Square, our location allows you to take sidewalks to all of the sites and sounds of downtown Prescott, Courthouse Square and Whiskey Row. However, once home, you’re back to small town peace and quiet. Speaking of peace and quiet, a 5-minute drive due south will put you in the Prescott National Forest complete with hiking, canoeing, fishing, fabulous vistas and amazing air!

Did you know that the Prescott’s year-round activities have made it one of the top destinations in the Southwest? Stroll to the dozens of antique shops, boutiques, stunning art galleries, and restaurants from your cottage. Enjoy the nightlife of Whiskey Row, as well as Prescott’s new state-of-the-art library also within walking distance. We also have several public golf courses nearby so bring your clubs!

With an average of 360 days of sunshine per year and four mild seasons, Prescott is a year-round destination. Prescott is known internationally for the World’s Oldest Rodeo in July, the Prescott Bluegrass Festival in June, dozens of arts and craft shows (some juried), and the Cowboy Poets Gathering. Did you know that Prescott is recognized as Arizona’s ‘official’ Christmas City? Join us for the spectacular tree lighting on Courthouse Square and our electric parade. Also, be part of the thousands of people who stroll the free live entertainment featured in every downtown shop for Acker night in December; a music festival like no other! For these attractions, be sure to book your stay early. We accept PayPal, VISA, Discover, MasterCard and E-Checks...

About Miya Stafford

Hello!

My name is Miya and I am the property manager. Mark & Laurie Temple and Roy Thomas own the property. They bought this unit in February 2015, and we all absolutely love the property. This is the street Mark grew up on and actually lives down the street!

As for me I'm from Chicago and have lived in Prescott, AZ since March 2012 and love it! It's a beautiful little home town. The people are wonderful here and there is always something happening.

I hope you will enjoy your stay here as much as I have!

Miya Stafford purchased this cottage in 2015

Why Miya Stafford chose Capital Territory & High Country

The owners purchased this property because of the location. Our property is located on the most historical street in Prescott. Also the same street one of the owners grew up on!

What makes this cottage unique

What I love about this property is that it's in a GREAT location!

Nice house with a decent fenced in area for our dog. We had a little issue with getting towels, but they went and got some for us. Nice quite area, close to the shops and square!

Lovely Cottage

  • 5 of 5

This cottage was in a great location. It was just a few blocks from downtown and Acker Park which had walking trails. It was equipped with all the comforts of home. The owner was even kind enough to lend us an ice chest for a graduation party we hosted. We would love to stay again and highly recommend it.

Our Little Cottage

  • 5 of 5

This is our second year at Cedar Cottage. When we entered on January 31st we both felt that we had come to our winter home It is spotless and well equipped to make it practically perfect. I cook a lot and it has just about everything we need. What is missing I can get at the incredible second hand shops all through Prescott. We are hikers and start most morning with a three mile walk about downtown or across the street at Akers Park. We can ride up Senator Hwy and end up in Goldwater Lake to walk around the lake or go up a little further for many excellent hiking trails. We can walk downtown for breakfast or dinner for many varied and wonderful restaurants. The weather when we are there is cool in the morning and warmer by afternoon . The sun is very warm and we sit out often on the lawn or at the table at the side of the house. Prescott and Prescott Valley have all the stores that I could ever want, both for food and produce as well as clothing. One of the best thing about the cottage is Miya. She is the manager of the property and so willing to make your stay the best she can. She does that with her warmth and welcoming personality She will go out of her way to make your stay a wonderful experience. We try to re-book before we leave for next year as we would hate to miss our two months of spring/summer instead of the depths of winter..
