Terrific for family vacation, adventure, and nature, waves, great walking, jogging, fishing, snorkeling, kayaking, and eating fresh fish! The property is located very close to the mega resorts of ixtapa and zihuatanejo. Sleeps 12, 5 bedrooms, 6 bathrooms.. Large 6000 square foot home, very comfortable... Full services, wonderul mexican cuisine. Easy to get to town, either ixtapa or zihuatanejo.. But most people prefer to stay here at playa blanca!
we have had this in the family for 40 years, enjoying it more every time. we are americans that came to mexico 50 years ago and stayed! this is a true adventure paradise.
Carl Rianhard purchased this house in 1975
there are many beach resorts in mexico... we prefer nature and adventure... although we are close to resorts for those inclined! this property has 16 kilometers of virgin beach in front.. hard to beat.. great marine and bird life... just go and enjoy
Hard to beat the freedom and serenity of this pacific coast paradise, best sunsets in the world.. Get away from it all ...
This is one of the most amazing places I´ve been to for a family vacation. It has it all: a great house, a semi-deserted beach, a fantastic pool and staff and cooks that you´ll want to take with you... There is something for everyone to do. We stayed with three other couples and all our kids had a blast at the beach and in the pool. My wife and I could jog in the morning, swim and kayak in the ocean during the day and walk watching the sunset in the evening. If you´ve never had a siesta on a hammock, this place is perfect, and they have the perfect hammocks for it.
The house is a 10 minute walk from typical local Mexican restaurants and incredible mangroves and fresh water lagoons. During our one week stay, we really had not one single boring day.
The staff is incredibly friendly and they get everything. You just tell them what you feel like eating and the go buy it and prepare it for you. Real Mexican food: quesadillas, seviche, huevos rancheros, enchiladas... just for the food alone I would go back.
This was a jewel find for us. I found the house and grounds expansive enough to handle many guests and the views, sights and sounds immediately put me in a peaceful mood. Morning walks on the beach, sight seeing, and lazy afternoons and evenings at the palapa with friends and family made for a wonderful trip. I look forward to a return trip.
An amazing location, large palapa and beautiful pool area from which to watch the sunset. Expansive beach front good for walking, running, frisbee and swimming. The house has everything you need and is very comfortable. Short walk into the village is a great outing. You couldn't ask for a more idyllic place to relax and forget about the world. Can't wait to go back!
This home is fantastic. I had the best time there with classmates and spouses from long ago. The home is very comfortable and the grounds and location are wonderful. The infinity pool overlooking the ocean was so impressive, with a great palapa, with comfy chairs, tables, hammock and restroom and outdoor kitchen to stock accessible beverages - one can stay there all day.
The beach is called Playa Blanca I am told, and it was empty the entire week we were there, so it was great for long walks - several times per day. This location is very close to the airport, but little else. If you wish to actually go into Zihuatanejo, it is 20 to 30 minutes drive north, so very accessible, but really no reason to go there, compared to what this home offers. A little village is at the near end of the beach, about a 20 minute walk down the beach from the home. This is authentic Mexico - very nice people, with some tourist offerings, like restaurants and kayak rentals for the nearby lagoons - but this is primarily serving Mexican tourists (which is why I liked it).
The home has a chef and every meal is fantastic. The staff is very accommodating to any request and schedule.
Now that I have discovered this place, I plan to go back - especially given it is a direct flight from LA, (3 hours) and right near the ZIH airport - it is far easier to get to than almost any other options, which are far less appealing.
Great place. The house is rustic, but super clean. It has a great palapa with a wonderful pool that has a shallow place for kids.
Great service and they cook great. I recommend the shrimp taco, ceviche and pescado a la talla.
