About Matthew Gross

We have traveled all over the world since we met online and married in 2007.

Our blended family consists of five children, ages 19 to 28, one son-in-law, and a beautiful baby grand-daughter! We live and work in Atlanta, but we love to spend our weekends and most holidays in Cherry Log Mountain.

Matthew Gross purchased this cabin in 2007

Why Matthew Gross chose Northwest High Country

In our travels, we often looked for possible retirement destinations but we always came back convinced that the North Georgia Mountains was the ideal location for us. Nothing beats this area when it comes to mild weather, outdoor activities, fine dining and shopping, and the relative proximity to the big city and our children. In particular we love Cherry Log Mountain because it is a cabin-only development crisscrossed by one of the South's most famous hiking trails, the Benton MacKaye Trail.

Come and experience the area for yourself and we are sure you will agree there is no place like Blue Ridge and Cherry Log Mountain!

Guestbook comments from the owner

We had a great time. Took the kids on the train out of Blue Ridge. Great day, saw some deer this morning and met some nice neighbors!

Trails End Stay

  • 5 of 5

We loved our stay at Trails End. The cabin is lovely especially the porch! It had everything you needed for a great stay. We will definetly be booking again. The best part we were able to bring our little dog. The cabin did not have any smells of other dogs that have been there. Again it was a great stay.

Great little place

  • 5 of 5

Everything about the stay was really great. The house was a good size, with good amenities. The trails weren't that great, but that isn't the cabin's fault. The porches were amazing, perfect for dogs, and people alike. Would definately consider staying here again.

Peaceful, Beautiful, Secluded

  • 5 of 5

My partner and I spent a relaxing couple of days at Trail's End, mostly sitting on the porches enjoying the trees and the wildlife. This little cabin is perfect if you just want some time away in a comfortable and beautiful setting.

I will put a recommendation to my fellow foodie visitors: bring what you need, the kitchen is nice and has the very basics, but if you are doing any intensive cooking bring your own equipment. I wished that I had brought several more mixing bowls (there was only one in the cabinets), move serving spoons, and a couple more serving bowls. Overall, the kitchen is fine to cook in, the whole cabin was super clean and the grill worked. Note to the owners - the iginition switch on the grill doesn't work (we lit with a match) and the lid to the grill falls over completely when you open it, which makes flipping burgers a two-man job.

We will be back, this is my new favorite place to just get away.

Perfect in Everyway!!

  • 5 of 5

This is an absolutely perfect and adorable Cabin

The description on the website does not do it justice

I am hesitant to say too many nice things because I want to go back and I can see that it's very popular.

The Blue Ridge area is rich with things to do

The location and the community the cabin is in is exceptional.
