About Matthew Gross

We have traveled all over the world since we met online and married in 2007.

Our blended family consists of five children, ages 20 to 29, one son-in-law, and a beautiful baby grand-daughter! We live and work in Atlanta, but we love to spend our weekends and most holidays in Cherry Log Mountain.

Matthew Gross purchased this cabin in 2007

Why Matthew Gross chose Northwest High Country

In our travels, we often looked for possible retirement destinations but we always came back convinced that the North Georgia Mountains was the ideal location for us. Nothing beats this area when it comes to mild weather, outdoor activities, fine dining and shopping, and the relative proximity to the big city and our children. In particular we love Cherry Log Mountain because it is a cabin-only development crisscrossed by one of the South's most famous hiking trails, the Benton MacKaye Trail.

Come and experience the area for yourself and we are sure you will agree there is no place like Blue Ridge and Cherry Log Mountain!

Guestbook comments from the owner

We had a great time. Took the kids on the train out of Blue Ridge. Great day, saw some deer this morning and met some nice neighbors!

Beautiful and Relaxing!

  • 4 of 5

Trails End is a lovely little cabin that is welcoming and cozy. Every room is tastefully decorated with the charming cabin-theme, and the beds are utterly comfortable. The shower is one of the best I have ever used; never-ending hot water and perfect water pressure! The hammock is the perfect place to doze off, and the rocking chairs on the porch were perfect for ending the night. The dining room has large windows perfect for gazing outside at any time. The roads and driveway are gravel, not paved, so you need a car that is nothing less than a Corolla. When we arrived, the Cabin was spotless and smelled clean and fresh. It was simply wonderful and I couldn't ask for any more.

Five star

  • 5 of 5

From the moment we drove across the first covered bridge we knew it was going to be a magical "Girls Only Weekend". The cabin was perfect for us! So clean and inviting, the windows were perfect for viewing the wildlife as we had our breakfast and coffee at the table... the first one up would sit in the rockers on the porch sipping coffee and enjoying God's wonders while the others slept in. The cabin held all the amenities we could ever need! We had a small fire log each night in the fireplace while watching Dave Chapelle on Apple TV and enjoying our wine from the local vineyard! We usually change locations each year for this annual event although my girlfriends have requested we return to the same cabin again next year! We will definitely be back!
