This home is built for gatherings and fun! Spectacular lake and mountain views abound from the privacy of a 10 acre property. It's steps away from Farleigh Lake, which allows canoeing, kayaking and sailing. If you prefer, explore the hiking trails right out the back door, with beautiful valley views. The patio accommodates 8-12 people comfortably, with a BBQ and propane heater for use. An outdoor fire pit is ideal for roasting marshmallows and listening to the loons at night. Downstairs is the perfect games room with a shuffleboard and ping pong table. The house is surrounding by a beautiful forest and gardens maintained by the homeowners. Neighboring properties boast horses and sheep for the serene feel of the country.
The house has all the modern amenities including dishwasher, oven, microwave, washer and dryer, iron and ironing board. The upstairs bathroom is spacious, with a shower and soaker tub. The downstairs bathroom is also large with a roomy shower. Each bedroom is very large with a king bed in the master bedroom, another king bed in the downstairs bedroom and a queen bed in the spare room upstairs. We have also placed a queen and twin bed in the downstairs living room for more space when sleeping, as well as cooler temperatures in the summer.
It's a quick 15 minute drive into the heart of Penticton for access to world- class sand beaches, golf courses, wineries, restaurants and facilities. Enjoy the hustle and bustle of big city attractions with a community feel. Or, if you would rather, head 20 minutes in the other direction from our house to access Apex Mountain Resort and Nickelplate hiking trails for back country adventures! There is plenty of room for parking, up to 5 vehicles, including a 2-bay car port.
Each room is very spacious, allowing guests to feel like they have space with a large group of people. This, combined with the large outdoors areas to enjoy, makes this property ideal for families who are looking to spend quality time together with access to many different activities and attractions.
We are a young couple who have just had our first child. We are both teachers in town who love working with kids. Luck brought us to the Okanagan and we have been enjoying it ever since 2009. We bought this property because we love living away from the city, but enjoy having quick access to the amenities. We think Farleigh Lake is very special and look forward to welcoming you to our home!

This area of the Okanagan is very special - you have the best of both worlds! Drive in one direction, and you can experience Penticton with all it's modern amenities that it has to offer. Drive in another direction, and you get a modern mountain experience that truly offers you a connection with nature.
This house truly brings us to a place of peace. It has gorgeous views from every window and allows us to relax at the end of a long day. In the summer, we live outdoors on the main patio upstairs - enjoying BBQing, listening to music and 'drinking in' the beautiful scenery!
We rented a house in Penticton on 10 acres of forest. The house was beautiful and accommodated the 6 of us perfectly. Lots of bird and you could hear the loons from the lake which was a walk away. The owners were friendly and very accommodating. I would highly recommend. Very peaceful property.
The house was wonderful, everything we needed plus more. Beautiful quiet location, great for bird watching from the deck. Can hike right from the property to a picturesque viewing area. The lake can be viewed from the house and is within easy walking distance. We spent several hours on the lake canoeing and kayaking, listening to and watching loons and other birds. Property is about 15min drive to Penticton so close enough to get supplies when we needed them. The owners are very friendly and helpful, made us feel very welcome. I'm not sure if pets are allowed but it would be a great place for dogs. It would also be a great place for a romantic getaway but the house is rather large for two people. Driveway is steep but our minivan managed without problems. If we go back to the Okanagen Valkey we would definitely want to stay here again
My family and I arrived at this rented home at about 4PM and were meet by the friendly owners, who showed us around and made us feel welcome. They advised that if we needed anything - we were to contact them. Such a warm and personably couple are Sam & Jennifer!
We had arrived in the Penticton area for our eldest sons wedding that following weekend. We need a house that could accommodate at least 6 adults comfortably and also allow us to host a reception for the bridal party a couple nights before the wedding. We were thrilled to see how much space we had and the deck was beautiful. We easily accommodated 25 people for the reception and BBQ'ed Atlantic Salmon was perfect - such a wonderful evening.
This home is located about 12-15 kms from the Town of Penticton, and travel to the home is via a small winding road heading up into the surrounding hills. The massive trees and small ranches along the drive made us feel we were in a different world - from the hustle and bustle of our big city life. We had no issues finding the home due to our handy GPS which located the house even though it did not show the road it was on, lol. The house was equipped with three bedrooms with King & Queen size beds. The rec room was nice and cool (37 degree temps in Penticton) and it had ping pong table and shuffle board. Our younger family members enjoyed many tournaments during our 5 day stay. The only negative I could find was that the house is not air conditioned....but we found that the house is located on the side of a mountain and that in addition to lovely breezes from the valley, the actual temps at the house where about 7 degrees cooler then of this in town. The remainder of the house was in great shape and we certainly lacked nothing. Sam's WIFI was invaluable to us and it was a delight to be away from the constant ringing of phones( no cell coverage available). The lake, which is located across the road, has two canoes and a kayak for guest use. But the things that made it so relaxing for me was the sound of sheep, cows, horses, loons, birds, hummingbirds and the donkey! How nice to sit on the deck drinking a refreshing cool beverage and to observe and hear the beautiful sounds of nature. We visited with the owners Jennifer & Sam and our impressions are that they are a great young family and so easy to work with. I would definitely go back again and again, and would recommend this home to young families, married couples, and small groups. I envy Sam & Jennifer!
Our family stayed here at the beginning of July. The home is refreshing and inviting and was very spacious for 8 adults. We particularly enjoyed the BBQ and large patio area, the games room downstairs, and canoeing on the lake. Jennifer was so great to work with. She is accommodating and quick to answer any questions or give suggestions. The only downside (or perhaps it's an upside!) was no phone reception and intermittent internet.
Our family stayed here for a week in the summer and we found it to be an excellent option for us. The owners were quick to respond to us and helped us with suggestions of what to do. We had never been to the Okanagan before so they were a big help! Everyone had their own space in this house and the kids loved exploring around the property. There is lots to do at the property - we hiked, canoed, played bocce ball and just enjoyed being outside in the heat! It's a quick trip to Penticton and we got to enjoy great restaurants (try Salty's and The Cubby Hole!) plus there was lots for both adults and kids to do. Check out Loco Landing - we had a great time! We would definitely come back!
Penticton is a bustling community in the heart of the Okanagan. It has two lakes to the north and south of it, and a beautiful mountain retreat at Apex Mountain Resort to the west of it. Average temperatures in July and August are 28 degrees Celcius, though usually you can expect anywhere between 25 to 40 degrees Celcius.
There are so many must-do activities, it would be impossible to list them all here! There are dozens of wineries and wine tours available. Golfers can choose from 5 different golf courses within a 20 minute drive. Love water sports? We have 2 world class beaches (Okanagan Lake and Skaha Lake) with family-centered areas at each one. Boat, canoe, kayak sea-doo, and paddleboard rentals are available at each lake - you can also go para-sailing on Okanagan Lake! Maybe you would prefer to float down the channel from Okanagan to Skaha Lake. A bike enthusiast? The KVR trail offers breathtaking views for bikers of all abilities, or if you prefer a challenge, there are several mountain biking trails within 20 minutes drive of Penticton.
Like some action at night? There are dozens of outstanding restaurants, craft breweries, live theater and clubs available downtown. In addition, there are lots of festivals to look forward to each summer week and weekend!
If you're looking for local flavour, taking in the Farmer's Market on Saturday mornings is a must-do! If you like ice-cream, you should make the trek to Tickelberry's in Okanagan Falls. It will be worth the time you wait in line! Local restaurant favourites of ours include Salty's (great lakeview, food and service!), The Cubby Hole and Theo's (fantastic Greek food) as well as Lake Breeze wintery (located along the Naramata Bench).
Prefer to get away from the tourists? Our house is located on 10 acres that backs onto Crown Land. There is front-door access to hiking trails, and Farleigh Lake is a 2 minute walk where you can canoe or kayak. Drive another 25 minutes and you will have access to the Nickelplate hiking trails, in which you can discover Nickelplate lake and the Okanagan Vista Loop. ATVs are permitted on some of these trails.

The canoe and kayak are to be used at the guest's own risk. We do not accept any responsibility or liability for guests who choose the use them. We ask that guests pay a 25% deposit at the time of booking. Deposits will be returned if guests cancel within 60 days of check-in date. The balance is due 2 weeks before arrival. A reminder email will be sent a week in advance of this due payment. Deposit will be returned if guests cancel the booking 60 days before arrival. Guests will be greeted by the owners upon arrival to be given a tour of the property. The owner will meet the guests to retrieve the keys before guests depart.
