Cute little apartment on Clear Lake, and we enjoyed our stay very much. It is very tastefully decorated and the linens and bedding are top notch. One thing I did find to be lacking, is that there was no hair dryer, and I had to go buy one. There were a couple of other minor issues that we did encounter and I know that the management is addressing them. Overall, a nice place to enjoy all that Clear Lake has to offer.
My review of this property.
I found the property convenient to local stores and the lake. What I didn't like was the bathroom. It was located across from the kitchen upstairs. The bedroom is located downstairs with no bathroom. If you have to shower or use the bathroom at night, you have to climb the spiral iron staircase to use the bathroom. I'm in my sixty's and it was not fun. The lady that owns the property seemed nice. She had someone come over to meet us when we arrived to answer all our questions. I liked the peace and quiet so much that my husband and I brought a vacation home while we were there.
My fiancé and I loved the apartment, but that's it. The location is not very good, the water stank, we could not find a single spot to fish ( that didn't have algae) or really anything fun to do. It wasn't what we expected. The apartment was beautiful though! That's what I gave the 5 stars for. Hope this helps.
Hidden Gem on the Lake
I never been to Clearlake before and it sounded like a cute little town for tourist, so I decided to take my 3 month pregnant wife away for July 4th weekend. The owner (Jen) was an absolute pleasure to deal with. She made all the arrangements seamless and was upfront and honest with my questions. She would even send me texts of events in the area like the July 4th Parade that passes right by the back of the condo.
This place was very gorgeously remodeled. The entire inside of the condo felt brand new. Nice wood floors, cabinets, counter tops, and tastefully decorated. The spiral staircase down to the bedroom was a neat touch that made the place feel like a cool fort. This small space was maximized. This place is only fit for 2 normal sized people. 1 additional person and we would have been on top of each other. The couch is a nice 2 seater with no ottoman. We put a blanket on a cooler and it worked. There's no DVD player, only basic cable. This usually wouldn't have been an issue on trips but without much in the way of activities in the area and a pregnant wife, it would have been nice. The view was really spectacular. We're water people so we enjoyed starring out at the lake and the wildlife.
The air outside had a distinctive odor that I can only equate with rivers that had clams in it; if that makes sense. It would come and go with the breeze. You would acclimate. Even though the property is water front, you would have a hard time accessing the water from the property. The neighborhood was ummm, questionable. There's a boarded up storefront next door and another across the street. The Boutique directly behind the condo was a super cute place that belongs in Carmel, but is on this little strip in Clearlake. I believe Jen owns this place as well. Although the neighborhood felt sketchy, all of the people we met were extremely nice and helpful. I never felt unsafe.
I may have lucked out with this being July 4th weekend. There was a fair going on right up the road, albeit a tiny fair. We took a couple laps around and it was fun. The highlight was on the evening of July 4th. The whole town shows up for the fireworks and I saw why. We easily found a place to sit on the beach next to the fair for the event. The explosions felt like they were right above us. We still talk about it. Best 20 minute fireworks show I've seen and everyone was into it. Before the show, we enjoyed drinks at the Main St Diner on the patio to watch the crowd roll in. Thank
