' The HideOut' - A Redwood Cabin Retreat on 2 Acres

Bedrooms 2
Half Baths1
Space 1,350 sq. ft.
Property type cabin
Minimum Stay 2 nights

About the property

While many properties in Idyllwild are in tightly packed neighborhoods, The HideOut sits on two acres of pristine mountainside.

Reminiscent of Big Sur, this 2 story redwood cabin has a modern aesthetic, with an emphasis on comfort. A good nights sleep is paramount, so both bedrooms (a king suite and a queen suite) feature top of the line mattresses and 800 thread count linens. (There is also a futon in the den, as well as an air mattress for friends) The master bath has a recently restored, luxuriously deep, clawfoot tub and separate shower. Other cabin amenities include, a fireplace, a wood burning oven, an open kitchen plan and dining for 6. 2 wrap around decks feature an outdoor dining table and BBQ. And with our many entertainment options, you may never want to leave the house (and thats ok! you're on vacation!) Including, hi speed satellite Wifi, smart TV, DVD player, curated movie collection, and indoor and outdoor stereo with ipod plug in. There's even a box of board games, for those who like the old school options. Hotel quality bath towels, spa towels, sheets, and basic toiletries (toilet paper, paper towels) are provided.

Outside the cabin, there is a separate trail leading up the boulders to the spa deck. Set deep in the woods, this romantic spot features a deck cut into the mountains, built in benches, and a 4 person hot tub.

Just a few steps further up the mountain from the spa, you'll find a gathering place at the top of the boulders, with benches built into the rocks and a firepit, with a commanding view of the desert cities below.

Watch the sunset, or stay for the sunrise. If you're like us, you'll never want to leave!

Why Jeremy Simmons chose Pine Cove

Idyllwild isn't like other mountain towns in SoCal. There are no ski resorts, no heavy traffic, no third rate restaurants packed with shouting sports fans. Its a walkable town for artists, nature lovers, and couples looking to reconnect. Thats why we wanted a property here. As an couple from LA in the music and film industry, we wanted to be close to town, but far enough to have space to think and create. The minute we walked on the property and saw the redwood cabin, we were sold. Its 2 acres, and its really a get away. Thats why we bought it and that what we love about it. The quiet is profound, the grounds are stunning, and the cabin is clean and modern. Its an artists retreat, its a place to reconnect-we think its truly special and hope you do to

Exactly what I was looking for and so much more!

  • 5 of 5

I wanted a place to get away from the summer heat in the desert that had privacy (no immediate neighbors). This property is on almost 2 acres! Very private. And the views are spectacular! The space was clean and intimate and yet plenty of room to spread out. The house is designed with communal and private areas, three decks, hot tub and plenty of land to enjoy. I'd be there every week if I could!

I shall return and recommend to all my friends.

Unbelievably idyllic retreat in Idyllwild!

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I arrived at the cabin in the clouds late afternoon at the beginning of a storm. We couldn't have asked for a cozier place to sit by the fire and watch the rain turn into snow. After a full day of soaking in the hot tub, sitting by the fire, eating, and repeating… We both melted into a deep sleep.

Morning was breathtakingly sunny and bright! Snow stuck to all the branches, and the clouds parted to reveal the view we didn't know we were missing.

I'm sure there are tons of amazing day trips to take from here, but we're grateful we never left the house.

A perfect weekend spot!

  • 5 of 5

My boyfriend Jimmy and I had a truly excellent stay at the Hideout for a weekend in early February. There was snow on the ground outside, which was gorgeous, and inside the cabin was a haven of warmth, stunning views, glasses of wine, fireside reading and cozy bliss. The living room bay window overlooking the nearby valleys is the perfect perch to read in and gaze out over the mountains.

We heated up the hot tub atop the hilltop (up the few easy rock steps from the cabin), and soaked amid the evening sunset (it wasn’t too cold out at all). The setting for the hot tub and the canopied sitting area around it was lit with beautiful twinkling lights and lanterns. And the views from the lookout perch were perfect for watching the golden sunset.

The cabin was more spacious inside than I’d imagined; there was only the two of us, but I’d eagerly come back with a few more friends for a weekend of grilling, hikes nearby and exploring more of Idyllwild, which is only about 2 minutes away. That’s another great perk to the Hideout; the place seems private and tucked away from other cabins, but town is super-close. Definitely want to get back to Idyllwild; drinks at Idyology and a pizza at Ferro were highlights.

I’d recommend the Hideout to anyone looking for a mountain getaway weekend. The cabin itself is stylish, very well-appointed, with ample outside deck space, and you immediately feel at home. Can’t wait to return!

The best kept secret in Idyllwild!

  • 5 of 5

My girlfriend and I booked this place for a romantic getaway for our anniversary. We were looking for somewhere close to LA (where we live) but far enough away that we could feel like we were getting a break from the hustle and bustle of the city. The HideOut fit our needs perfectly (and was super reasonably priced!) . The location is wonderful - The cabin is tucked away on its own little hill and feels very private and secluded - but still is close enough to civilization that you can run into town if you need something. The cabin is spacious and charming. It's just rustic enough to give you that great cabin vibe, while maintaining enough modern amenities that you never felt like you were lacking for anything. And its in great shape too-you can tell Jeremy really cares about the upkeep.

We really enjoyed the lookout point located a brief walk up from the cabin and watched the sunset there every night. It was a breathtaking and spectacular view every evening! The hottub that is also up there is absolutely fantastic and very luxurious -- not what you would expect from a rustic mountain cabin at all.

There is also a great collection of books and movies and an amazing window seat with a glorious view to enjoy them from. Seriously, pictures do not do this place justice.

The owners are super thoughtful and include lots of great recommendations for local restaurants and activities. We didn't manage to visit all of them, but the ones we did were absolutely delightful and lived up to the recommendation.

You can tell so much love was put into this place - honestly the owners thought of everything. It was the perfect place for our little weekend getaway. If you are looking to stay in Idyllwild, look no further -- this is hands down the best place to stay! We will definitely be back!!

Wonderful Trip

This was exactly the peaceful get away we had in mind when we booked Jeremy's property. The hot tub is atop a hill completely secluded and relaxing. The cabin is welcoming and beautiful and Idyllwild could not be more charming. We loved the trip.
