House looks 'tired' with chipped paintwork throughout. The stairs to the upstairs are very steep, this was not mentioned in the description and could pose problems for some people. We had to clean the stair rails, they were dirty and sticky. The downstairs shower rooms both smelt musty throughout our stay and one of the toilets flush button was broken. However, the sofas were comfortable in the sitting room and the heating worked well during a very windy and chilly spell. The kitchen was well equipped though there was a problem with the oven fan remaining on after the oven was turned off, which we notified the caretaker about. The bed in the main bedroom was very comfortable with good quality bed-linen and wonderful views. The garden is delightful, a good size with decking and terrace both with good views.
Generally it was 'ok' but not up to the standard of the cottages we usually stay in. It is obviously a much appreciated holiday home from the comments in the Visitors book and we can see why. Now we know what to expect, we would consider staying there again for it's position etc. but it does need a little 'uplift'!
Thank you for your review of your recent stay in Brigid's Patch. We have taken your comments on board and and are taking steps to rectify any problems. We do take our guests' comfort and enjoyment at Brigid's Patch very seriously and try to ensure that our guests have everything they need for a wonderful holiday in this beautiful area. A Weeks Stay At Brigids Patch
A lovely stay. Plenty of car parking, house was comfortable and well equipped. Beautiful well kept garden with fantastic views which we all enjoyed, especially our dogs. A lovely walk in to St Mawes but a challenge walking back up the hill for us oldies.
Thank you for taking the time to write a review, it is always lovely to hear that our guests enjoy Brigid's Patch and St. Mawes. It also gives future guests a clearer idea of where they are going! We do try to provide a clean comfortable house with everything necessary for a happy stay... Thank you and we hope you will visit us again before too long Sarah, Lucy & Annabel
Peaceful cottage in good location for no-car exploring.
The cottage was found easily and fully accommodated our needs (the dog included). There was ample space and the cottage was cool even on warmer days.
The location is great - a short (but steep) walk into town where you can access ferries for multiple trips around the local area. A fantastic circular walk from St Mawes to St Just is worth undertaking - with a coffee and homemade cake in St Mawes.
Thank you for your review. We are so pleased that you enjoyed your stay in Brigid's Patch. There are lots of walks available from the cottage and from St Mawes, perfect for guests to explore with dogs... We try to keep the cottage as guest-friendly as possible with well equipped kitchen Etc... Please do come back and visit us again before too long. Sarah, Lucy and Annabel
The house was great and very homely. All the facilities were in great order and the garden was really nice to relax in in the evening.
Alot of care taken to provide a nice visit. Based on the house and the comfort, I would be pleased to stay there again. It was a very enjoyable trip with a wonderful place to stay.
Thank you for your kind words. We do try to provide everything that our guests would need on their vacation; a "home away from home" experience, and we are always happy to receive positive feedback from contented clients. We look forward to welcoming you back again before too long. Sarah, Lucy and Annabel

A wonderful week
Lovely, practical house with a great garden and views in a beautiful setting close to St Mawes. Despite the weather being changeable we had a fantastic time and recommend this property highly.
Thank you for taking time to write a review and your recommendation. We are so very pleased that you enjoyed both Brigid's Patch and St Mawes, (despite the changeable weather)... We look forwards to welcoming you again one day! Sarah, Lucy and Annabel
St Mawes is one of the finest waterside villages in Cornwall. Situated overlooking an idyllic bay on the eastern side of the famous Falmouth Estuary, St Mawes has one of the mildest climates in Britain due to its proximity to the Gulf Stream. The sea is at the heart of the village and has helped to shape St Mawes from the little fishing village to the fashionable holiday destination that is so popular with visitors. A mecca for boating enthusiasts, St Mawes is a particularly popular sailing centre. Weekly club racing, village regattas and larger events are commonplace on the superb waters of the bay all through the summer.
St Mawes has so much to offer the visitor. St Mawes Castle was built by Henry VIII and is a splendid place to take in the views of the Carrick Roads. There are miles of coastal and countryside walks to take in and some idyllic beaches on which to relax and watch the world go by. The little Place Ferry takes visitors to explore St Anthony's Head or there are regular ferries to Falmouth. Being situated on the seafront, the village is also known for the restaurants and pubs that serve superb fish and shellfish dishes all year round.
