All round excellent value. A cottage that is totally homely
On our arrival we were pleasantly surprised as it actually looked bigger than thought. Inside was realy set out very well with loads of room in the kitchen dining area. Both front rooms had sky TV and the wifi worked very well. I cannot fault the cleanliness of the property, and the linen and towels were soft and like new. Now the real good bit I would honestly class this as a home as all the little things needed to run a house was present. There was even books jigsaws and Lego for the children and the bedroom with the single beds was ideally set out for children. This is also very well situated for discovering the local beauty plus an excellent local pub/resteraunt within 5 mins drive. We 100 % recomend to rent this cottage, and our friends were also very pleased who came with us. Fantastic week.
The cottage was in good condition in an excellent location, unfortunately the weather during our stay was not very good only one wet day but was cold and windy. The downstairs reception rooms were uncomfortable to sit and the under floor heating failed to work. The bedrooms were comfortable and well heated by radiators but unfortunately accessed by very steep stairs and should really be notified to clients of our age when booking the accommodation.as unsuitable.
We enjoyed our stay in Cornwall a county that we both love and return on a regular basis and will no doubt return again in the future and be happy to use your services but will research the accommodation more thoroughl to make sure it is suitable to our age and needs.
Extremely pleased with the cottage, lovely country setting. Very clean and bedding/towels of a high standard. Would benefit from a more comfortable sofa and appliance manuals. Otherwise perfect.
A lovely place to stay
Gorgeous location, great for beaches but also picturesque village and amenities. Beautiful costal walks nearby. Cottage is very spacious and yet cosy with good cooking facilities so you can eat at home. All communications were straightforward. We had a wonderful stay.
our stay at veryan green
Property very well equipped with everything you need .a lot of thought by owners has gone into the modernisation probably the best cottage we have stayed in
A seventieth Birthday Holiday (family) Great.
Geoff my husband chose Cornwall as his destination of choice to celebrate his seventieth birthday.Laburnum cottage suited our needs with a two year old grandson, plenty of space for him to run around and the box of toys were great. We especially loved the small armchairs very thoughtful. Not forgetting the adults who also had a great time celebrating, relaxing and visiting lots of super places including lots of great beaches, all in all we had a really super holiday in a very well equipt and comfortable house.
The delightful and charming village of Veryan on the Roseland Peninsula is most famous for its nineteenth century thatched Round Houses. There are five in all, two pairs of which stand at each end of the village and another in the centre. They were originally built by a missionary named Reverend Jeremiah Trist for his daughters. In a round house there are no corners where the devil can hide. A crucifix on the top of each one adds extra protection!
Veryan is ideally located for exploring the Roseland Peninsula and is only moments from the spectacular Carne Beach or the dramatic coastline around the historic fishing village of Portloe. Nearby is the lovingly restored Melinsey Mill where you can relax in a charming valley with a delicious Cornish cream tea.
There is a pub in Veryan called the New Inn which serves meals or you could enjoy some superb Crab at the Ship Inn at Portloe, only a 5 minute drive away. There are high quality restaurants at the Nare Hotel or around nearby Portscatho & St Mawes. There are village stores in Veryan or alternatively mini supermarkets at the nearby Bessy Beneath filling station or in the village of Tregony.
