Excellent accommodation in a good location
Beautiful cottage in a great location setback from the A38. The cottage has everything you need for an enjoyable holiday. It is located in the centre of Cornwall so that you can travel to all areas easily. Being located in the countryside you do have to travel to go to a local pub / restaurant if you choose to eat out, but the setting compensates for that. The hosts (Majorie and Kevin) on arrival were very welcoming. Fully explaining where all the facilities were on site, and also helping me with advice on my plans to visit the county during the week. Fully recommend the cottage, and wouldn't hesitate to stay there again.
Lovely cottage in a lovely setting
Very comfy cottage ideal for 2 adults + 2 children. Picturesque setting by a river with a lake. Clean and tidy cottage with all the creature comforts. Good location to explore all of Cornwall.
a property in heaven
my partner and I only went for a week but it was 1st class...kevin and Marjorie the host were great we were welcomed as soon as we arrived and were presented with a lovely hamper.
the property we stayed in (bluebell) was very clean and very well presented,
we are already looking to book twice for next year as it was just perfect....
keep up the great work
We had superb week at Rivermead Farm. Starting with warm welcome by the hosts and welcome basket deluxe (I never saw so many delicious things as a welcome gift in a holiday cottage), the really spacious grounds with lots of things to do for the kids, the lovely interiour of the cottages, a more then well equipped kitchen and a BBQ outside, Rivermead Farm is located perfectly for trips to many sights, the sea, the moor and many places more. And then there were TC and Wellington! We travelled with two families including 4 kids age 5 to 12 and EVERYBODY was happy!
But unfortunatly we had just one week...
I hope we can come back some day.
Positives: The location was superb with large river frontage, beautiful countryside, small lake, hide, areas for the children to play. Welcome basket very generous with quality products (best jam ever!).
Negatives: Keeping the children out of the kitchen was a problem as you had to pass though it when going between the living room and the bedrooms and toilet/shower room. The bright security light outside the cottage woke the children at night as cars from the adjoining property arrived back. Ironing board, mop and hoover were placed near the entrance limiting the amount of space for boots etc.
A great week in Cornwall
We enjoyed our stay in a beautiful location. The hamper of goodies on arrival was most welcome. This was a good base to tour the local area. The cottage was clean and beautiful, well equipped kitchen, convenbienbtly situated and quiet to come back to each evening. It may seem a minor point, but as keen cooks we especially appreciated a set of decent knives to use. So often these are cheap and blunt but not this time.
Located just off the A38 between Liskeard and Bodmin, and backing onto Bodmin Moor yet only 15mins from the picturesque coastal resorts of Looe & Polperro. Rivermead Farm is ideally located for exploring the beautiful South East region of Cornwall.
The farm location gives you the freedom to take country walks straight from your door. Bike hire can be arranged locally.
Beaches & Watersports
There are numerous beaches within easy driving distance, ranging from wide exposed beaches to sheltered coves. Siblyback Lake, located on the edge of Bodmin Moor nearby, offers windsurfing, sailing and kayaking.
Local Towns & Villages
Explore the quaint villages of Polperro, Looe, Charlestown and St Neots, the historic towns of Fowey and Lostwithiel, and the local main town of Liskeard. There is lots to do, including the world famous Eden Project, The Lost Gardens of Heligan and the Carnglaze Caverns to the Monkey Sanctuary at Loee and Bodmin Moor Wildlife Park. Local National Trust properties include the beautiful house and estate of Lanhydrock.
For something different visit the Duchy of Cornwall Nursery at Lostwithiel, Trelawney Garden Centre near Wadebridge or Trago Mills at Liskeard. Shopping Rivermead Farm is well situated for both coastal or inland walks, with Bodmin Moor, the Camel Trail and the South West Coast Path all easily accessible.
Golfers can enjoy the rich variety of numerous Cornish courses, both Links and Parkland but in particular the following are highly recommended; St Endoc, nr Rock is a Links course where a handicap is required. Trevose & Perranporth are both Links courses. Lanhydrock, St Mellion & China Fleet in Saltash are all Parkland courses.
