An excellent find.
The property is in a great location, both secluded but also central to North & South Coast with local amenities within easy reach. Lovely building and grounds and the owners could not have been more accommodating. Everything needed for our stay was available and we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. I can’t recommend this property highly enough.
Excellent Base for touring Cornwall
As soon as we walked through the door we had that homely feel. Lower Tamsquite is a charming cottage yet has all the modern facilities. Little extras like milk in the fridge, biscuits, jams tea and coffee were a nice touch. The heating was on which added to the homely feel, and the five acre garden was a huge plus, even though the weather was not particularly kind. As a base we were able to get to anywhere in north Cornwall within 45 minutes (north and south coasts). The cottage is isolated but that is part of the attraction and 25 minute walk places you in the charming village of St Tudy. Lower Tamsquite is that good that we have booked again for next year.
Lovely cottage in a beautiful area , had everything you need for a week away . Great to meet the owner who was very helpful and a great base to discover the area . Gardens surrounding the cottage are beautiful and well kept too, definitely recommended !
Beautiful cottage is peaceful surroundings
What a beautiful cottage and stunning gardens. The cottage has everything you could think of and was spotlessly clean. We have a dog and the gardens were fantastic for him to run around. The owners were very helpful. I would highly recommend a visit.

Fabulous cottage. Everything you could possibly need was provided in the cottage. Wonderful gardens as well. Would definitely recommend to anyone.
Lower Tamsquite is situated 1/2 a mile from St Tudy a quaint Cornish village, The church around which the village was built was first constructed in the 6th century and then rebuilt in the 11th, 15th and latterly 19th centuries, the village has been built around the original Celtic circular raised graveyard - known locally as "God's Acre!" St Tudy is believed to be the birthplace of Captain Bligh of the "Mutiny on the Bounty" fame! The St Tudy Inn (formerly the Cornish Armms) will welcome you in for a refreshing drink, a hearty meal or both!
Bodmin Moor is a couple of miles away to the East and is dominated by large granite tors which tower over sweeping expanses of moorland. Bodmin Moor has engendered fear and awe throughout history and hence provided inspiration for writers, poets and sculptors. Standing stones, burial chambers, clapper bridges cottages and farms across the moor give a hint of the 4000 years of human developement ever since Bronze age farmers first arrived.
Port Isaac is about 6 miles to the North West and this has recently been the base of filming for "Doc Martin" with Martin Clunes, there are a good selection of cafes shops and pubs. Further up the coast there are all of the golden beaches and coves between Polzeath and Tintagel with some of the best surf in Europe.
Bodmin lies a few miles to South West and has a large selection of supermarkets, shops and restaurants.
