Restful stay at Rooftops
Last minute booking made online. The customer service was excellent from time of booking to final day of the holiday.
Would recommend Roof tops- the barn has been renovated to a really good standard and has everything you need for self-catering holiday with a shop and two pubs a short stroll away.
Bude and supermarkets were both 5/10 minute drive.
Bude was really nice, beach and canal side and for good selection of independent shops, bakeries and cafes.
Tamar Otters are short drive and worth a visit- talks interesting and good cafe.
Would definitely visit again. Owners were very welcoming and live in the adjoining property- scones and milk etc were a nice touch and the eggs we purchased were lovely.
The weather could have been better but it didn’t affect us too much and it was lovely restful stay. Wish we could have stayed longer. Pretty easy to get out and about but where it is situated you could leave the car and catch a bus from the village. Best of both worlds in the countryside but close to everything.
Rooftops is so in the boutique category. Classy yet cozy. One of the loveliest rentals I have ever stayed in. Vicky and Jason are extremely personable hosts. I will do be booking again and telling all my friends to book too.
Fantastic cottage had everything you needed plus extra ,Vicky & Jason was always on hand if needed .Great location to get about cornwall & Devon .
WOW what a place, best we have stayed in.
A beautiful cottage, the most comfortable we have stayed in and been holidaying in Cornwall for the last 7 years. The owners have done a great job renovating it. There wasn’t anything we needed that wasn’t already there, beds so comfortable. Cottage is in a superb location, Stratton is a lovely village with a shop and 2 local pubs within a couple of minutes walk and Bude and the beaches only 5 minute drive. The grounds are very dog friendly, safe and secure so our bulldog Cooper loved it! The owners are very friendly and couldn’t do enough, offering extra bedding etc. The coffee machine and walk in shower make mornings very relaxing. We’ll definitely be going back.
Delightful barn conversion, super open plan and decor.Would recommend to anybody
Owners were very nice but not intrusive even though lived next door.Barn conversion done to a high standard, bit annoying that you had to go downstairs to the toilet but managed.Lovely village with two pubs and supermarkets close by.Nice view from barn and to hear church bells every day.Lovely enclosed garden for our cocker spaniel.Would like to go back there like so many people have.Enjoyed watching the chickens in their garden, bought some eggs to take home.Nice to be so near to Bude.
One of the very best !
We have stayed in many cottages, barn conversions, farmhouses etc.....and this is seriously one of the best. .....great location in a friendly village with two pubs and a small convenience store within easy walking distance.
Warm welcome (the scones were yummy ! )..... exceptionally clean and well furnished....comfortable bedding and clean useable cooking utensils and equipment. Small but well thought out garden and outdoor seating area. We so often have found holiday rentals sadly lacking .....not this one !! Although we weren’t blessed with the best weather...it didn’t spoil our enjoyment....Thankyou !!!
Bude is Cornwall's most northern town and has been a favourite seaside resort since Victorian times. The coastal scenery surrounding the beaches of is quite beautiful, boasting some of the finest sandy beaches and the best surfing in England! The town has excellent facilities and a wide selection of interesting, independent shops. This idyllic area has a large amount of bird life for the dedicated twitcher and some wonderful, scenic walks along the South West coastal path.
The centre of Bude is a lively hub with concerts, dances and fetes as well as other events throughout the season, including an annual Carnival Week. The town has a host of pubs, cafes and restaurants to suit every palate and there is a new Visitors Centre in the Crescent car park, a large children's play area, a 19th century canal and a small wharf amongst many other attractions. Bude is also home to the internationally acclaimed jazz festival which takes place each August.
Further along the coast is Sandymouth, a large beach ideal for families due to its lovely sand, rock pools and tea rooms. A short drive north over the border into Devon leads to the quaint village of Hartland with its very own shipwreck! Also well worth a visit is the world famous fishing village of Clovelly. The cobbled, traffic-free, high street is built into a cleft in a 400' high cliff and tumbles its way down past whitewashed cottages festooned with flowers to the tiny working port.
