The Bolt Hole
Aptly named, the Bolt Hole is a perfect retreat for a few days away. Beautifully located in stunning countryside, this charming cottage provides everything you could need. The property is furnished to a high standard, everything you could need and very comfortable. En suite is on the small side, but we knew this before booking and did not cause any problem. Lovely secluded garden for warm evening chill outs. Pub in the village provides a good evening meal, glorius beaches and scenery within easy reach.
Dear Janice, thank you so much for taking the time to complete the review. We are so pleased you enjoyed your stay and thank you for your kind comments. Winter seems to be on the way now but hopefully you will enjoy some more trips away in the not too distant future! Thanks again. Kind Regards, Carol and Sean Barry
the accommodation was great
The cottage is lovely and is in a pleasant quiet village. Good location and facilities for a couple. The shop in the village is very convenient and having wifi is great. The village is on a bus route which is handy.
Dear Ann, Apologies for the late reply. Thank you so much for taking the time to write a review. We are so pleased you enjoyed the cottage and had a good holiday. Bolt hole Bliss
Found the cottage to be perfect for the two of us, everything we wanted or needed was there as well as being in a great location, found everything to be very clean and everything to make a very pleasant stay well thought out. We stayed during what some may consider the ‘off’ season and although some of the larger ‘attractions, were closed we found what we regarded as the real Cornwall and its people a wonderful place and would recommend going early in the year to beat the crowds so to speak. We had a lovely stay at the Bolthole and would recommend to everyone.
Cosy, relaxing cottage with everything I needed
Well maintained cosy cottage. Lovely relaxing location, quiet lane with lovely views.
Tregony is a good location for Truro, St Mawes, Lost Gardens of Heligan, St Austell, lots of lovely beaches on the doorstep too.
Good friendly pub in the village, shop too.
Overall a good holiday 'Bolt Hole'
Perfect bolt hole
Perfect little house for 2 people. Very well equipped. Nice outdoor space. Quiet location. Lovely welcome. What more could we ask for.
Fantastic A Must Stay!!
Simply stunning! Beautiful little cottage with everything you need.
Great location in which to explore Cornwall.
Has a private parking space in front of the cottage and a fantastic local pub 'Kings Arms' and A Londis shop both with in a 2 minute stroll around the corner!
Highly recommend the Roseland Inn pub about 10mins drive away.
If you are reading this and thinking of going then stop thinking and just book it as you will love it!!
The village of Tregony in Cornwall is often referrred to as the 'gateway to the Roseland'. The exceptionally wide Fore Street is a relic from the days when this was a busy port and market town with considerable traffic. The port has long since silted up due in part to china clay workings up stream, but Tregony has retained its charm. Tregony has an unusual clock tower on Fore Street and the seventeenth century almshouses which boast an unusual wooden gallery. The site of a twelfth century Norman castle known as ‘Treg-ney' from which the village got its name is situated on Tregony Hill.
The woods and riverside in the area between here and Ruan Lanihorne are fantastic to explore. The river is a firm favourite with ornithologists the magical Lamorran Woods are alive with bluebells in the spring. The Lost Gardens of Heligan, the Eden Project and the city of Truro are only a short drive away from Tregony.
