A lovely courtyard surrounded by picturesque barns. Very comfortable and clean. The pool was an excellent bonus. We had a really enjoyable stay.

Good with some restrictions

  • 3 of 5

Beautiful apartment in a nice location. The cleanliness left something to be desired and when the TV was broken, no contact was to be reached.

Owner's Response: Thank you for your review we don't know what area of cleaning you mean? The TV is working fine and the onsite Manager said he didn't receive any messages of this.

Needs some repair and maintenance

  • 3 of 5

Taps loose in basin and bath. Kitchen doors not closing correctly. Spots lights out in nearly every room. TV remote batteries had leaked. Tiles missing in the jacuzzi. Not enough cutlery and crockery for 6 people. Too much chlorine in the pool. Games room poorly maintained

wonderful stay

  • 5 of 5

Spent two weeks here we were pleasantly surprised at how big the cottage is the photos do not do it justice, we had some small niggles with different things on arrival and Darren the site manager fixed all very promptly and helped us with minor things through out out the stay.

The pool etc. great.

Needs basic maintenance

  • 3 of 5

Needs basic maintenance throughout site. Bad finishes on decoration and gardening getting overgrown. Poor levels of light in cottage. Dampness in games room. Possible sewage leak in enquire.

Owner's Response: Hi Simon, Thanks for taking the time to review Pendeen I can confirm there was no sewage leak but a fresh water leak from one of the pipes. We however moved you to another 6 sleeper cottage within the first few hours of arriving so this shouldn't have impacted your 7 day stay at all. We have an onsite manager who you met who is in charge of maintenance and does a good job. We also have gardeners in to take care of the mature gardens which aren't overgrown. Finally a team of housekeepers who clean the place to a higher standard than level 2. Regarding poor light I'm afraid it's a converted barn and therefore doesn't have large windows but does have plenty of lights to switch on. The Director has been down there & paid a visit and everything is as it should be.

Sehr schöne Anlage für Familien mit Kindern.

  • 5 of 5

Insgesamt sehr gut ausgestattet. Kleinere Dinge hier und da die repariert werden könnten. Aber nichts was normale Abnutzung einer Ferienwohnung übersteigt.

Mit dem Auto ist ein Riesensupermarkt in 10min erreichbar. Strand in falmouth ebenfalls per Auto in 15min erreichbar (Gyllyngvase Beach).

Wir hatten einen tollen Urlaub!

Map

Pendeen Cottage is situated just one mile from the quaint Cornish village Mawnan Smith, and three miles from the bustling port of Falmouth. Here you will find a host of shops, bars and restaurants, the award winning National Maritime Museum and Trebah Gardens which is not to be missed.

Falmouth is one of Cornwall's most popular places to visit because of its unique mix of attractions, water sports, beaches, history and place to eat. The National Maritime Museum Cornwall and Pendennis Castle are both high on visitors lists of places to visit and the views from Pendennis on a fine day a truly magical. Falmouth is the sailing capital of Cornwall with its spectacular deep water natural harbour offering a haven for both cruisers and racers. Many events are held through the summer culminating in the famous Falmouth Regatta Week and associated shore side events.

The beaches at Gyllingvase & Swanpool are coarse sand and are wonderfully sunny south facing spots. You can ride the ferry to beautiful St Mawes for the day or take a delightful trip around the estuary stopping off at either Trelissick Gardens or Smugglers Cottage for a cream tea! There are plenty of places to eat & drink in Falmouth and recently Rick Stein has opened his Fish & Chip Restaurant & Oyster Bar at Discovery Quay adding to the superb mix across the town.
