Good central location on The Lizard.
Pretty little cottage with great garden and grounds (from a dog owners perspective!).
Lovely family location
This was a beautiful location and the owners were friendly and welcoming. The cottage was lovely and the games room was a favourite with my children. My children even fed the animals with the owner and discussed the herb garden with them.
This cottage was near some amazing beaches and restaurants and worth the drive.
A wonderful week at Cob Cottage
A return to Cob Cottage for us and as idyllic as before. The dogs and us were made welcome and we were very comfortable.
Amazing farmhouse cottage
This is a lovely cottage in a fantastic location. The property was everything we'd dreamed of for a farm cottage in Cornwall. The hosts made us feel really welcome from the moment we arrived, showing us round the farm and introducing the kids to all the animals (which they loved!). The property itself was very well equipped, clean and comfortable, with a pretty garden and outdoor seating - we'll be back!
Very good and all of us (4 adults) enjoyed our stay (pity theres not a pub in the village)
Cottage very good and would recommend to a number of friends. Very pleased the shower has been up graded and also thank you for changing the booking days from Friday to Friday to Saturday to Saturday that was very important to my Sister and I.
Thank you again
Thanks Barry always lovely to see you and yours and high rating much appreciated Just for your information The Prince of Wales is only 1.5 miles away in Newtown St Martin think this must have slipped past your radar. Well worth a visit, food and beer very good and they do a variety of themed evenings throughout the week from curry, pie and pint and local food sessions to quiz nights and Euchre evenings (Cornish Cribbage)
Cob Cottage provided a fantastic home-from-home base to explore the Cornish countryside. Clean, well-supplied, wonderfully-hosted, beautifully decorated, well-situated. Everything you could need. Would highly recommend.
There is a good pub - the Prince of Wales at Newtown, just over a mile away or a 20 minute walk, plus more pubs in nearby St Keverne, Coverack and at stunning Cadgwith Cove. There are large supermarkets in Helston and good shopping further afield in Falmouth and Truro.
Coverack has a traditional working harbour, a general store, Internet Cafe, friendly pub and several eating establishments. There are many other beautiful villages to discover around the Lizard such as St Keverne, Porthallow, Manaccan, Helford and Gweek, all with excellent pubs. There is a brewery at Coverack for beer lovers! There are a number of good eating establishments dotted around the peninsula. "South" at Manaccan is a good find, plus "New Yard" at Trelowarren, "Kota" and "Amelie's" at Porthleven, not to mention the inevitable Cornish pasties - Leggy's in Ruan Minor or the famous Ann's Pasties at Lizard.
The Lizard is an 'Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty' and has some spectacular coastal walks. It is England's most southerly point and the highlights include early Spring flowers, the Lizard lighthouse, swimming and surfing from sandy beaches, delightful fishing coves, sailing on the Helford river, heather covered moors in Autumn, open gardens and National Trust areas, pretty harbour lights at Christmas, friendly pubs and good, fresh, local food! There are loads of places to visit and highlights include Lizard Point, walks along the coastal path, a visit to Trelowarren Estate, the fascinating Goonhilly Earth Station, Flambards is great for the kids and you can step into Cornwall's mining heritage at the Poldark Mine. There are so many activities to choose from locally. You can take a boat trip across the beautiful Helford River and explore the gardens at Trebah. There are sea fishing trips from Porthleven. There is great diving on the Manacles and coasteering is available for the really adventurous. The Lizard is home to the Cornish Chough if you like a spot of bird-watching. The coastline has many pretty coves and beaches to discover, but you can find great surf at Porthleven or Loe Bar.
