About Katy Gorman
We purchased the apartment as a successful rental property from the previous owners who still live downstairs. We are maintaining their very high standards as we believe that a holiday can be made more special by staying in a lovely home.

Why Katy Gorman chose Sulmona
This palazzo was built in the late 19th century by the Sardi family - one of the old, noble families of Sulmona. A well-loved story suggests that it was lost in a card game to a family from L’Aquila many years ago who then slowly sold it off, apartment by apartment, into separate ownership. It’s conveniently located on a side street right in the heart of town so you can walk to all of the most important attractions and monuments and enjoy a great selection of bars & restaurants right on your doorstep.
What makes this Apartment unique
This apartment sleeps 4 comfortably in two double bedrooms. It would suit two couples travelling together or two singles who each want their own room. We wanted a contemporary & stylish look but with all the mod cons you would need for a longer stay - wireless, fibre-optic broadband, washing machine, proper kitchen facilities, TV & DVD player and a wood burning stove for our winter guests. There’s nothing else quite like it here in Sulmona.

Lovely apartment in a great part of town. Owners were out the country on our arrival but had arranged with us in advance that a friend would meet us on arrival. All went well and Rita and her husband were very helpful. Sarah also checked in with us by text to ensure we were settled in ok. Apartment very spacious with all we needed for our two week stay.
Thank you for your lovely review. We are glad that you were comfortable. I'm sorry we weren't around to meet you, which is unusual, but we are glad to know that Rita was so helpful. Very best wishes.
Taste of real Italy
Beautiful appartment in wonderful Sulmona.
Owners Sarah and Tom made us very welcome and comfortable.
Nice location in the historical centre
We stayed here for 12 days. The apartment was spacious and we had two bed rooms and two baths. Parking was a little challenge but that is typical in historic areas.
The owners had provided 2 air coolers to cool the place. Unfortunately that is the only big minus in the whole stay that the apartment was hot. Some nights we just could not have a decent sleep. During the day the shutters had to be closed all day. If coming back needs to have an AC to stay in this apartment in the summer.
Thank you for your comments, although we were a little disappointed at having received our first ever ‘less than perfect' review in over 40 bookings.
As you know, we experienced the ‘Lucifero’ extreme heat wave of up to 40 degrees Celsius / 104 degrees Fahrenheit all over Italy and indeed the whole of southern Europe during the past couple of weeks, and we did our very best to advise you on how to keep the apartment as cool as was absolutely possible. We are genuinely sorry that you were not comfortable. Now that the temperatures here are back to a seasonal average our current guests are having no problems keeping cool and sleeping well at night.
For potential guests reading this review, rest assured that the apartment is comfortable year-round and we would ask you to read all of our other excellent reviews, focussing on other aspects of the experience at Gramsci 29, before making up your minds.

Grazie Antonio. È stato un grande piacere conoscervi.
Sulmona is a Medieval town, with pre-Roman origins, in the heart of Abruzzo in central Italy. It is conveniently located on the edge of a National Park and within easy reach of both the beach and a wide range of ski stations. You'll find lots to see and do not only in Sulmona itself but also in the surrounding area. Check out the English language website all about Sulmona here: www.welcometosulmona.com
