Still waiting on my credit for a horrible stay. Part 1

  • 1 of 5

1. House entry door only locked from the inside so one person always had to stay in the house. Kyle was called a few times about this but he was not reachable. It was sad that we were not able to enjoy events as a full group as planned, but the girls were too worried to leave behind an unlocked house afraid someone may break in, take their belongings or worse. This was a birthday celebration for my best friend that I booked so you can imagine how embarrassing it was for me…for the guests I invited and spoke so highly of the house to, to have them taking turns to leave the house was horrible.

2. The back entry door would not open so in order to dispose of trash, someone had to walk all the way around the house instead of convenient access through the back door. Back door seemed like an alternative exit in case of emergency so this also made the girls a bit uneasy that it was not accessible.

3. The advertisement states 3 bedrooms giving us the impression there would be 3 private rooms for people to share. The home is a 2 bedroom with a den. It is not a 3 bedroom home. Not only was there no privacy in the den but the 2nd bathroom was also in the den. So whomever sleeps in the den had to deal with the back and forth traffic of guests going through the den to utilize the 2nd bathroom.

4. The den had a sofa pull out bed that was intended for 2 people to sleep on. Unfortunately, the pull out was jammed and not working. Two of the girls had to sleep on the sofa itself. One on the sofa in the den and another on the other sofa. Wasn’t the most comfortable set up so needless to say, they didn’t sleep well.

5. We were told a community pool was being built and would be in place before our arrival so our excitement about the pool turned into a disappointment as there was no pool.

6. A hot tub was advertised. No hot tub was located.

7. The shower was dirty as water kept getting backed up in the drain creating a pool of dirty water.

8. The second shower had visible mildew.

9. We texted Kyle the morning of the trip in excitement and didn’t hear from him until later in the afternoon. I texted Kyle worried about him being non-responsive and I did appreciate him finally calling me back at that point. He explained that he manages many other properties so he is not always easy to reach. However when booking the house, Kyle seemed very easy to reach, a bit more upbeat and friendly, and quick with responses.

Excellent Stay

  • 5 of 5

My friends and I always come to Miami in October for Carnival, we have never stayed at the same place twice but I think we have found our home away from home. The house was clean, in a great area, not directly on South Beach but a short drive or Uber away. And parking is included which is so hard to find in Miami! Kyle was very helpful and assisted us when necessary. I would highly recommend this house for a group of friends or for a family. You won't be disappointed!

Great Stay on Belle Island

  • 5 of 5

We spent a wonderful three weeks at the property. It is ideally located on Belle Island just a short walk to Collins and Ocean Avenues, and a two minute walk to restaurants and shops in Sunset Harbour. The house is also right next door to the Standard Hotel which has some of the best body and facial treatments in all of South Beach. The house was clean and very comfortable. There was plenty of space for our family of four. We will definitely rent this house again.

The perfect stay

  • 5 of 5

When we first arrived we were impressed by the property and I knew I had made the right decision to stay at this VRBO. Kyle was always available through txt or phone to accommodate our needs and we spent our 5 days at the property with no problems. There was no need to rent a car or rely on taxi's during our stay. It was an easy walk to get to collins street or to get to the beach. By far the best decision made regarding the trip. Would return to this property again.

Thank you for letting us stay at your place.

Lovely experience

  • 5 of 5

The house was perfectly situated, close to all but not in the middle of the mayhem. I loved having a parking spot, parking can be a nightmare in Miami. Depending on where we went, we either took an Uber or drove the rental car. We were a group of 5 and the house was large enough for everyone. If there were any issues, the office responded immediately. I would suggest that they write down a tutorial on how to turn on the TV and cable box though - LOL. The only complaint I may have is that they didn't supply beach towels and the deposit took a few days longer to return than I thought - but no big whoop. I would definitely use this house again.

Awesome place and host !

  • 5 of 5

Location - Amazing. Right next door to the standard hotel and spa which we definitely took advantage of. The house was immaculate and very comfortable. Lots of space, we were three people but this house can easily accommodate 6-7 comfortably.

The host is great! Made us feel very welcome and even provided us with perks such as bagels and OJ delivered to our doorstep in the morning without even asking ! Glad I found this place because I'm definitely coming back here whenever I'm in Miami.

Car: not necessary

The Standard Spa is located a stone throw away. No need to take the car, just a couple steps and you have arrived at Paradise. The Lido Restaurant & Bayside Grill is inspired by the traditional Mediterranean diet and lifestyle: healthy, sun-kissed, wholesome and natural. Executive Chef Mark Zeitouni emphasizes organic meats and fish, olive oil, fresh herbs, unprocessed foods, grill cooking and bio-dynamic wines. The philosophy of living and eating well is an integral part of Mediterranean culture and the same philosophy forms the foundation of the integral living mission of The Standard Spa.
