This newly-remodeled ground-floor studio apartment opens onto a nicely tended garden and lawn, below the towering Goat Wall, in Mazama. It has an open studio floor plan with a full-sized hide-a-bed sofa and queen bed, full kitchen, television with DVD, and internet. It can be rented by itself, or in combination with the lodge, for larger groups.
In the summer, enjoy hiking, rock-climbing, mountain-biking and other outdoor activities. Relax in the evenings on the garden benches, enjoying the views, or take a stroll on the trail running along the back of the property. In winter, this MVSTA trail becomes a groomed cross-country ski trail that joins over 100km of other groomed trails in the 2nd-largest cross-country ski trail system in the country. For those who prefer snowmobiling, the Yellow Jacket Sno Park is just a few miles up the road.
This studio is annexed to a house that can host bigger groups, but it has it’s own separate entrance.
Two nights minimum stay.
Stove didn't work. Used fan we brought with us. Loss of electricity Thursday morning; apparently area maintenance beyond owners control. Otherwise OK. Apartment nice with timed cooling.
Lovely property and well stocked cabin. It was just what we wanted for our weekend away.
We enjoyed the "not so big" cabin. It's centrally located to Winthrop and close to many outdoor adventures.
The location is great. The proximity to The Goat Wall, Mazama Store and the MCT is terrific. Its very clean. We were grateful the owner allowed our dogs to stay. Dogs loved the setting. The amenities are very basic. Quirky hot water set up in the shower was a little frustrating, didnt figure it out until our last night there.
Awesome natural setting, fully fenced yard, and great outdoor space. Stayed in the small cabin attached the the large. Plenty of room for a couple and our dog. So nice to be able to let the dog out without worrying about him disappearing. Large cabin was vacant, so nice and quiet. Very clean, bright space. Did have to go upstairs to turn the heat on (there is a small space heater downstairs but it was very cold when we got there) and turned back down when we left. Other note - there is a computer monitor sized TV - but that's not why you would go here anyway. Would definitely come here again. Owner was pleasant and easy to deal with. Wish we could have stayed more than 1 night.
Really enjoyed our time here. So quiet and the stars were amazing. We rented the studio connected to the main house and were the only ones there, so we played in the huge yard. About 2 miles from the Mazama general store. The view of the mountain was amazing. A few things didn't work in the place (oven, one heater and a few lights were out).
