About Philip Frankland
Hi I am Phil. My wife Silvy and I have owned and managed our 400 acre farm since 1992 when I moved to Italy from the UK. We started to rent out one apartment in 2002 and enjoyed having people around so much that we decided to restore a huge old 17th century barn and farm house which we turned into 6 holiday rental apartments.
Philip Frankland purchased this Farmhouse in 1991
Why Philip Frankland chose Province of Vicenza
We were lucky enough to inherit Palazzo Rosso Farm from my wife Silvy's family.
What makes this Farmhouse unique
Our guests love to come and stay at Palazzo Rosso because they can enjoy the benefits of being close to many beautiful places such as Venice, Verona, Padova, Mantova and Vicenza and at the same time when they want to relax they can sit back and enjoy the farm location and beautiful surroundings at Palazzo Rosso.

Beautiful place and very friendly people.
We‘d rather stayed another week ;)
The property is beautiful, clean and well equipped.
The hosts were fantastic and offered great advice. The use of the bikes was a great addition and allowed us to view the local area easily. Only negative is needing to drive to get to restaurants, many are only a short drive away. Great location to visit Venice, Verona and Lake Garda.
A stunning place in an excellent location
Thank you for one of the best holidays we have ever had! The accommodation is fantastic, the buildings are stunning and the apartments have everything (and more) that you need including bathroom towels, beach towels, cooking necessities, safe, hairdryer etc. The pool is gorgeous and my family and I enjoyed some chilled days at the farm as well as using it at the end of a days exploring. There is so much to do at the farm, there are free good quality bikes and excellent cycle routes to explore the local gelatarias and even Vicenza. We enjoyed daily table tennis tournaments on the patio and the large shared room has a pool table, table football and a PS4 which the children enjoyed using some nights (when they weren't playing football in the garden with other children they had met). Phil and Silvie are the perfect hosts, they are available for help or advice regarding anything (they gave us so many brilliant tips of places to visit: Vicenza, Padua, Citadella, Verona, Lake Garda etc) but they also give you plenty of space and time to enjoy yourselves without being over bearing. If you are thinking of exploring The Venezia and Veneto or just want a relaxing holiday in a stunning landscape then I would thoroughly recommend Plazzo Rosso!!
We are always happy to know that our guests enjoy staying here on the farm and we do our best to make sure there is everything to make their time relaxing and enjoyable and we are always around to help organise and visits or book trips or restaurants.
Phil and Silvy
A wonderful property with very welcoming owners.
Phil and Sylvie are great hosts with a wealth of ideas about places to visit nearby. The apartment was clean and well stocked with all you need with a large fridge. The beams and brickwork gave the apartment a lovely character.
The communal areas downstairs provided plenty of eating areas near to the pool. The children enjoyed the table tennis, pool table and the pool which had plenty on umbrellas for shade and loungers to relax on. There were also bikes we borrowed to ride to nearby towns on the cycle paths. We had a great holiday there and look forward to coming back. The property is well located for visiting Venice, Verona and Vincenza. We also visited Lake Garda which is a bit of a drive away but well worth it. A great atmosphere and experience for the whole family.
Lovely. Great hosts Phil and Silvy. Nice apartment and great al fresco and pool. Great location for cultural explorings and biking
Lovely welcoming accommodation
We spent a week staying at Palazzo Rosso with our 4 year old and 2 year old. Phil and Silvia were great hosts. We made good use of the pool and took the bikes out along the cycle track that heads into Vicenza. We have family nearby so were already familiar with the area and found Palazzo Rosso to make a great base for our stay. We would definitely return. Grazie Phil & Silvia!
We are always happy to know that our guests enjoy their time here on the farm !
The Villa Palazzo Rosso is located near the village of Longare, in the hamlet of 'Ponte di Lumignano' at the foot of the Berici Hills (400 meters high). The local area is perfect for hiking, mountain biking and rock climbing. There are many local restaurants and wine producers where guests can enjoy the fantastic local dishes & taste the local wine. There is a cycle track which starts in Longare and winds all the way to the centre of Vicenza (14 kms). There are many famous Palladian villas in the area which people from all over the world come to visit. Palazzo Rosso Farm is a perfect starting point from which to visit all of the most famous historic cities such as Venice, Verona, Padova, Vicenza, Mantova, Ferrara as well as Bassano, Marostica and Asolo. All of these locations are well within and hours drive from the farm. Other local attractions which our guests enjoy include wine tasting in the many local wine cellars, a Grana Padana cheese factory and shop and a local organic Olive oil producer. Other Activities: Rock climbing, mountain biking and hiking in the 400 metre high Colli Berici hills
