Beautiful, peaceful and cows too!
Many thanks to Jan and Jon! We enjoyed the lively cottage and the views! The cows and horses were a big treat!
Great Kohala Getaway
Our stay at the plantation home was wonderful. Jean and Jan are lovely hosts. We had everything we needed, with a well-appointed kitchen and comfortable places to sit inside and outside. We would definitely recommend this home for its convenient location - close to the communities of Hawi and Kapa’au, as well as beaches, farmers market, hikes, places to visit, galleries, restaurants, and more in magical North Kohala.
Lovely well appointed home, extremely helpful hosts who went out of their way to help us find a good fishing spot, really enjoyable area of the island to explore
I especially enjoyed sitting outside enjoying the gorgeous views with my coffee in the mornings or my glass of wine in the evenings.
Mahalo. Thank you for staying with us.
Beautiful ocean view
Beautiful ocean view. Horses next door, even saw wild boars in field early one morning. Rained on us the 2 days we were there so we couldn't enjoy the hot tub but once. Home was decorated very nice. Was scared my kids would ruin something. Bathroom was a little small for 4 but was workable. Would stay again.
Mahalo Nui for your visit. Aloha
We'll be back!
This was a lovely, comfortable, perfect little cottage with the added benefit of Jan & Jon's hospitality and availability if we had any questions. The place was well stocked with everything you can imagine for a week's stay. We won't soon forget the stunning views of the adjacent farm with the wandering cows and horses, with the Pacific Ocean beyond in the distance. Double rainbows showed up almost every evening around sunset, and the star-gazing at night was spectacular. My favorite amenities were the hot tub and the hammock, both of which contributed greatly to the feeling of relaxation and calm that this home exudes. And the little town of Hawi with its quaint stores and friendly people was SO charming that I plan to come back to this special part of the North Kohala Coast very soon. I am so pleased that I booked this home to celebrate my 50th birthday. Thank you Jan & Jon!
Thank you for your visit. So glad you enjoyed your 50th birthday stay in the plantation house. Mahalo
We’re from the island and with all the madness of iron man we decided to get out of town and what a perfect place ! Will definitely be staying again !
Hawi Town is located on the north shore of the Big Island of Hawaii. This is the most historical place in Hawaii facing the island of Maui with moderate weather and soothing trade winds. Hawi Town has great restaurants and boutique shops which showcase local artists creations. Scenic sites close by include famous Pololu valley with spectacular views of the Big Island's north coast and black sands beach, with great hiking trails.. King Kamehameha the Great's birth place and the Mo'okini Heiau oldest Hawaiian temple along the coastline with gorgeous hikes and views of Maui Haleakala volcano. Go for an amazing snorkel at Mahukona and explore the coral reef 10 minutes away, snorkel or scuba dive with turtles in Puako , swim with wild spinner dolphins in Ho'okena, watch the whales crossing the Maui channel just a few miles away (between December and April), go for the boogie boarding of a life time at Hawaii's most beautiful Hapuna Beach nearby or leisure on the beach like a Rockefeller for free at the most magnificent 5 stars Mauna Kea beach hotel 20 minutes away. And if this not enough, hike to the magnificent 1600 feet high Hi'ilawe falls in Waipio valley of the kings. Aloha Nui.
