About Diane

I've been in Belize 30 years as well as other locations including El Salvador and the U.S. I own a chain of gift stores here in Belize that keeps me quite busy. I'm proud to be a charter member and board member for Rotary Club of Belize Ambergris Caye. Love to travel, exercise and be outdoors.

Find peace, then everything will fall into place! Be thankful!

Diane purchased this villa in 2014

Why Diane chose Ambergris Caye

Quiet, nurturing and impeccably decorated with an exotic flare. Belizean hardwoods add a warmth you can't find elsewhere in this price point. Feel at home in Belize, not just visiting in a cramped space. A short walk to the best public access beaches.

What makes this villa unique

This type of property is missing from the usual options for tourists. A reasonable priced place with many options on where to relax, both inside and out. Spacious, with high ceilings. A comfortable large desk in a perfectly secluded nook , providing an efficient place to work when needed. Designer light fixtures finish the look!

Thoroughly Enjoyed Our Stay!

  • 5 of 5

We found the villa in immaculate condition. It is clear that Diane (the owner) took very good care of the property. It matched very well with the description and photographs found on the VRBO website. Diane was very responsive to our inquiries while we were planning our trip to San Pedro. She was very helpful during our stay. We relied heavily on the information sheets she provided. In almost every case, we went with her recommendations and came back completely satisfied.

Owner's Response: Thank you for your most kind review which is so very appreciated. It was a joy to host Mr. Jay, his lovely wife and beautiful family who were so humble and charming. There were 7 persons, stretching the limits of how many I could accommodate, and yet upon their departure you might have wondered if there were even 2 persons staying with how immaculate my home was left. Prior to arrival, communication with Mr. Jay was frequent, easy and he was so well organized even though they had several stops in their itinerary. Not only will any guest house be fortunate to host them, but you will feel blessed for having known them. All the very best to them. Diane

Great Family Rental

  • 4 of 5

We spent a week at the Hotel California over Christmas. The place was just as described and plenty roomy for 5 adults. Diane was very helpful. She picked up our golf cart and met us at the water taxi, as well as arranging a secure place for us to leave our luggage while we waited to leave after checking out. She answered lots of questions for us before we came, as well as during the island tour she gave upon our arrival, even recommending a place we could watch a college bowl game being played while we were there. The kitchen had everything we needed and Diane came and collected our towels and laundered them midweek. We were located in a great spot for access to the rest of the island, but far enough away to avoid the noise of San Pedro. The only problem during our stay were the dogs next door that barked continually through the night. This was obviously not something that was under Diane's control, but it did interrupt our sleep. We very much enjoyed our week at the apartment. The Wi-Fi was handy for researching any needed information and the cable gave us something to do after busy days. Thanks to Diane for all of the information and kindness during our stay!

Owner's Response: Lynette and family were the perfect quintessential family, enjoying the an adventure holiday trip together enjoying life, rather than a commercial holiday. Lynette was a joy to work with before the trip, keeping me informed of how I can help and what their interests were. Upon arrival I found the five of them all so easy going and my home was left in perfect condition. It is unfortunate I was not informed of the neighbours dogs having been a problem as I would have spoken to them. Admittedly, I know they are a problem on occasion when there is much activity around, but I did not know about this. I'm very sorry they had disturbed you. Wishing you many, many more family vacations together. Diane

Exactly as advertised

The property seemed larger than expected. Everything shown in the pictures was accurate. You will want to rent a golf cart for easy acces, as it is off the main path. Diane was a pleasure to work with, she was very helpful prior to our trip for plnnin and advice.

Owner's Response: Mike & Kim were great guests. While tending minor repair we noted they came with much luggage which was everywhere, but as promised, the place was spotless and in perfect order as they made their departure. Mike communicated well, making it easy to keep an eye out for whatever they needed. Not that they needed much of anything since they were on the go constantly and filled there week with everything San Pedro has to offer. Thanks for being the perfect guests.

Best Belize Trip EVER!

  • 5 of 5

I am not much for words but I will say the property was well maintained and extremely lovely. Cassian was super supportive and informative. He was also timely with request. The villa had all the comforts of home and was centrally located. I definitely recommend this property to those traveling to Belize. Loved it!

Shhh...quickly has become my go-to place in San Pedro

  • 5 of 5

It's always refreshing when the property represented in the photos is exactly what is delivered in person. I spent a magnificent two weeks at the villa, opting to rent a golf cart to get around. This was my second trip to San Pedro, so I was quite comfortable transporting myself. We arrived a few days after Hurricane Earl hit, so the area did suffer somewhat.

Cassian, the caretaker, met us at the property two hours earlier than I'd initially anticipated. He showed us around the unit and encouraged us to reach out to him with any questions/concerns. During our stay, Cassian was visible, but not intrusive. He tended the exterior regularly and responded to email almost immediately. It was nice knowing someone dependable was on-property.

The villa had all of the comforts and amenities of home including reference material and books to read. (I began reading a novel while on holiday. It was so engaging that I've requested it with my local library.) With the exception of cold breakfasts and reheating some leftover items, we opted to dine out the majority of the time.

For my next trip to San Pedro, I'll definitely look into staying here, my go-to place on Ambergris Caye!

Owner's Response: Tarji and Traci were perfect guests, respecting everything in the villa and communicating well. As they arrived they had a few requests which Cassian immediately assisted with to assure their comfort. We appreciate guests being open and giving us the opportunity to make their vacation even better. Tarji communicated with me while there and kept me informed of additional costs incurred which she came forward to clear before departing. The villa was left clean, in perfect condition and rules followed. The perfect guests! Thanks, Tarji, for the shining review, it's most appreciated. We hope to see you again on your next trip.

Enjoy your stay we sure did. Thanks again Dianne we hope to see y'all again
