We loved our honeymoon stay at The Nook and we took our two dogs who agree! The location is fabulous. We were the envy of other holidaymakers! It is a beautiful cottage. I could point out tiny things but that would be nit picking as we had the most amazing time and nothing detracted us from our enjoyment. The ceiling heights are low but that is the quirkiness of the cottage and nothing the owner can do about, so don't complain about it! The beach is rocky to get to so wear some good shoes but we and the dogs had great fun in the sea and the rock pools, kite flying etc. Amenities are close by if you need anything. Margaret at the Rustic Tea Rooms is the most lovely lady and it is such a short walk. All in all it was exactly what we wanted and hoped it to be and intend to rebook for next year.
My family and i enjoyed our stay here very much. The cottage was comfortable, the garden loved by the dogs and the views just fabulous, Margarets tea rooms round the corner serves the best cream teas ever. I would definitely recommend the nook.
A week at The Nook
A visit to my parents who live in Bude so had seen The Nook many times not realising it was available to rent. Location couldn't be better, ideal for a dog (if the sheep aren't around). Furnishings a bit dated and beds uncomfortable. All the amenities you need - the wifi was fine during our stay. Might be helpful to fill in the massive pothole outside the gates, could do some serious damage to a car!
Breezy Stay in March
Lovely cottage, fantastic location. Brilliant cottage for dogs, secure garden, slate floors and beach on doorstep. Perfect.
We had a lovely time despite the weather. Walks from the cottage to Sandymouth and Bude, either along the beach or over coastal path.
Would definitely stay again, but too expensive in summer for us I think!
Thanks for allowing people to stay at this beautiful character cottage.
Stayed 4 nights with our 3 grown up children and could not have had a better break.
Loved walking to Bude at night with torches to see coming back.
Thanks for the added extras which were a lovely surprise.
Would love to visit again in the near future.
Best place ever
The best place ever very secluded
& quite Couldn't get any closer to the beech & the dog's loved it. Was very clean and every thing you needed was there.
The Nook is situated on Northcott Mouth and is approximately a 5 minute drive north of Bude. Bude is Cornwall's most northern town and has been a favourite seaside resort since Victorian times. The coastal scenery surrounding the beaches of is quite beautiful, boasting some of the finest sandy beaches and the best surfing in England! The town has excellent facilities and a wide selection of interesting, independent shops. This idyllic area has a large amount of bird life for the dedicated twitcher and some wonderful, scenic walks along the South West coastal path.
The centre of Bude is a lively hub with concerts, dances and fetes as well as other events throughout the season, including an annual Carnival Week. The town has a host of pubs, cafes and restaurants to suit every palate and there is a new Visitors Centre in the Crescent car park, a large children's play area, a 19th century canal and a small wharf amongst many other attractions. Bude is also home to the internationally acclaimed jazz festival which takes place each August.
Further along the coast is Sandymouth, a large beach ideal for families due to its lovely sand, rock pools and tea rooms. A short drive north over the border into Devon leads to the quaint village of Hartland with its very own shipwreck! Also well worth a visit is the world famous fishing village of Clovelly. The cobbled, traffic-free, high street is built into a cleft in a 400' high cliff and tumbles its way down past whitewashed cottages festooned with flowers to the tiny working port.
