Stay in Bozeman's most cherished neighborhood just steps away from the heart of downtown. Built in 1880, the Bon Ton House is one of the original homes located within the Bon Ton Historic district and offers guests turn-of-the-century ambiance combined with modern comfort and unbeatable location.

Brought back to life by intensive renovations in 2014, the house offers fresh accommodations while still retaining its historical charm. Hot water radiators, glass doorknobs and original hardwood floors give guests a taste of old Bozeman.

Located just two blocks South of Main Street in Bozeman’s lively downtown, Bon Ton House guests enjoy the convenience of an easy stroll to all of the local businesses that make Bozeman so unique. The local farm-to-table mentality of the Gallatin Valley means that visitors have access to countless locally owned restaurants, bistros, coffee shops, and tasting rooms offering high-quality gourmet cuisine and beverages.

Local gear shops, ski shops, bike shops, western boutiques, book stores, and a historic theatre (The Ellen) are just steps away from house. The Bon Ton House is a frequent home base for visitors to Montana State University.

With a large, newly landscaped backyard, guests can relax under the shade of a large Maple tree, have a meal at the picnic table, or enjoy a small fire at the fire ring.

Wifi is always provided and an off-street parking pad is accessible from the alley. Guests may use the new laundry room at the back of the house where detergent is provided.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION REGARDING OUR NOISE POLICY:

This is unit is located within a shared house, and rambunctious behavior including running, stomping, hollering, and wailing has the potential to disturb other guests staying on the property. Guests who choose to stay in this unit are expected to be respectful of other renters and refrain from these types of activities while on the property. THIS IS NOT A PARTY HOUSE. While small gatherings are permitted before quiet hours (9pm), large parties and gatherings are NEVER permitted on the property. If there is any chance your group might not be able/willing to refrain from running, being boisterous, or hosting parties, we recommend finding a vacation rental facility better suited to your needs.

THIS APARTMENT (UNIT C) IS A ONE-BEDROOM UNIT WITH A FULL SIZED BED.

BEDROOM/LIVING ROOM:

The combined bedroom/living room features a full sized bed. In the room you'll find an alarm clock, tissues, oscillating fan, and table lamps with power outlets for your electronic devices. A couch, an electric fireplace, and a flat screen TV provide a space to lounge. The television is hooked up to local channels and Netflix.

KITCHEN:

The newly renovated kitchen has all new stainless steel appliances and is stocked with all the basics (dish soap, paper towels, aluminum foil, saran wrap, salt, pepper, olive oil, white wine vinegar, tea, coffee filters, coffee beans, sugar, creamer, toaster, coffee grinder, coffee maker). A table in the kitchen seats 2.

BATHROOM:

The newly renovated bathroom features a shower, sink, and commode. Fresh towels, makeup removing wipes, hand soap, body wash, shampoo, and a hairdryer are provided for use during your stay.

OCCUPANCY:

Maximum occupancy on this unit is 2.

SAFETY/HEALTH:

The unit is equipped with smoke detectors and a carbon monoxide detector. A fire extinguisher is located below the kitchen sink.

CHILDREN:

Warning. This unit is not child-proof. There are choking hazards, falling hazards, and potentially harmful household products located within reach of children.

Why Mariana Johnston chose Bozeman

The Bon Ton House, built in 1880, is one of the original homes in Bozeman’s Bon Ton Historic District south of Main Street Downtown.

When we bought the house, it had been run into the ground as a neglected long-term rental. Even in its dilapidated state, the property still had a wonderful feel and we knew that if we didn't bring it back from the brink it might be lost forever. Working intensely for over a year, we renovated and refreshed every square inch of the house and yard.

It was important to us that we retain the charming 19th century feel of the home so we saved the original windows, trim, interior doors, glass doorknobs, hot water radiatiors, and hardwood flooring. With new fixtures and furnishings, the Bon Ton House is the perfect combination of historical charm and modern comfort.

Possibly the oldest and largest Norway Maple tree in Gallatin Valley stands as the cornerstone of the backyard. Under the shade of this amazing tree, we installed flagstone walkways through a beautiful green lawn and natural stone patios featuring a large picnic table and fire ring with firewood provided free for guests.

After restoring both the house and yard, we furnished each of the three apartments with hand-picked decor and stocked each unit with all the luxuries you would expect from a high-end vacation rental. We make it our goal to ensure a pleasant stay for all guests at this beautiful and charming piece of Montana history.

What makes this apartment unique

When it comes to location, it doesn't get any better than this. Being just two blocks from Main Street means that guests can stroll down the street and be right in the heart of Bozeman's amazing downtown. The Downtown Bozeman Association is active in ensuring that this part of the city remains the heartbeat of Bozeman. Their motto "Life is Downtown" couldn't be more spot on.

The Bon Ton House is located just steps away from all that historic downtown has to offer. Bozeman's city center is lined with trendy, locally owned shops, restaurants serving locally produced food, tasting rooms, breweries, and coffee shops. The house is located only 6 blocks N and 9 blocks E of Montana State University, which makes for a 20 minute walk to campus through some of Bozeman's most beautiful neighborhoods. If you'd rather ride the free local Streamline bus to MSU, there is a bus pickup location in front of the Bon Ton House. A 15 minute drive in any direction offers world class outdoor recreational activities for outdoor enthusiasts of all types. Popular activities are downhill skiing and snowboarding, cross-country skiing, hiking, rock climbing, fishing, and boating.

This was the perfect, cozy place to stay

This small one bedroom place had everything we could possible need while staying in Bozeman to visit our son who is a freshman at MSU. It was very clean. The bedroom was large with a couch and "fireplace;" made if cozy. The kitchen was well stocked with dishes, pots & pans, and appliances. The location is ideal; just a few blocks from the heart of Main Street and close to campus. I look forward to staying here again for our next trip.

Always lovely

We were in town to meet our new grandson and stayed here because of the great location, off street parking, fenced yard and full kitchen. The living/sleeping area is attractive and comfortable. Just wish the bed was a queen size. Netflix was a bonus for us and we watched a few movies.

Mariana and her husband are great and accommodating hosts. We appreciate very much their policies that support the quiet neighborhood. We enjoyed walking to church and downtown for the art walk. We will gladly stay at the BonTon House again.

Another fantastic stay at the Bonton House!

We stayed at the Bonton last weekend and had another great experience. We've stayed in the 2 bedroom unit several times, but as it was not available, we stayed in the 1 bedroom. Same high quality of finishes/ furnishings and cleanliness. Response time to any communications is within the hour. Location is ideal for downtown, bike paths and MSU. Great backyard greenspace. We'll be back!

Absolutely love Apartment C at Bon Ton House. Everything we needed to enjoy our 12 day stay was there. The free shuttle bus South was just across the road and the one North was on the opposite corner. Two blocks to the Main Street and two and a half to the Post Office. Lovely backyard to sit in and relax.
