My husband and I stayed here during Christmas last year with our dog, Lucy. The cabin was just perfect. It was secluded, cozy, romantic, and very clean. It snowed during Christmas which made it even more magical. The cabin had a hot tub, nice appliances, a tv, cookware, a comfy bed and a homey and warm feel to it. We would definitely recommend staying here and hope to stay here again ourselves.

Wish we had booked two weeks!

  • 5 of 5

We will book 2 weeks next year. This was an awesome little cabin. Perfect for 2 people and, of course, the family lab. It has everything you couple possibly need. As mentioned in previous reviews, there is a decent sized fenced in yard for the dog. Just open the door and let 'em roam. The river is just a few steps away. You can hear it and the sound is so soothing. The cabin is in a very quiet location. The bed was comfortable, wifi worked fine, cell reception was kind of hit or miss, hot tub A+. We saw Canadian geese, squirrels, deer, chipmunks, and a marmot. We had good luck fishing and cooked rainbow trout on the grill twice. The managers, Liz and Goat, were great to work with and the booking was easy. We ate at Ramon's one night, pretty good Mexican food, we at at Rosie's Pizzaria in Pagosa Springs one day for lunch . . . FANTASTIC! We went to Big Meadows Reservoir but didn't have much luck fishing there. We hit Beaver Creek and Million Reservoirs the next day and had better luck. All in all, one of the best vacations we have had in a while. Thanks again for sharing your cabin with us!

My husband, German Shepherd and I arrived in the evening to a fresh, clean, well-appointed cabin. The cabin is accurately described in the listing and photo's provided. The sound of the South Fork of the Rio Grande just behind the cabin is wonderful! A little early in the season to wade out and fly fish as the water was high and moving rapidly at the time of our stay but we enjoyed just the same. We were very appreciative of the fenced yard for our dog to have a bit of "freedom" and the adequate space indoors for her crate. Hot tub was well maintained and we enjoyed it several times. Sleep Number Bed was comfortable. Indoor seating was ideal for the two of us to relax in the cabin. We picked up two folding lawn chairs at the Rainbow Grocery / Mercantile in South Fork to enjoy the porch. The chairs, among other items/fishing goodies, made great "souvenirs" from our stay. The location is about half way between South Fork and Wolf Creek Pass along Hwy 160 but with the acreage, the road and other cabins in the area are not intrusive - felt secluded. The managers were easy to work with and cabin booking went smoothly. Our AT&T cell service was nearly non-existent while at the cabin. We usually just "caught up" when in South Fork. South Fork offers several good restaurants: The Old Firehouse (our pup joined us one evening on the patio and was served her own water in a bowl), Ramon's, Blue Spruce Lodge for Breakfast, and Feelin' Good Coffeehouse. Big Meadows Reservoir along with Shaw Lake and Hunters Lake were very close, enjoyable for hiking, fishing. Creede was a great day trip with brunch at Arp's and early dinner on the patio, pup included, at Cascada Bar & Grill. The ghost town of Summitville was fun to see even though the more modern, operating mine was nearby. Highly recommend this cabin and scenic area. We certainly hope to return. Thank you for a wonderful week!

A Great Little Getaway Cabin!

  • 5 of 5

The Coyote Run Cabin was adorable, private, and clean. We enjoyed the sounds of the river from the fire pit, the hot tub, and even inside the cabin. The bed was super comfortable and the cabin has everything you need.....the managers were so nice and so helpful! One of the great features is the fenced in area for your pooch.....there aren't many places you can stay that you can just let your dog out the front door and not have to take them out on leash to do their business....a HUGE plus! We'll definitely stay here again when we are in the area.
