Lovely, but dodgy wifi.
This is a beautiful, clean, comfortable property and I would absolutely recommend it. Just one caveat: there's no mobile reception at all, and wifi only in the kitchen/living room. That's fine, but it should be specified in the description.
Lovely, modern apartment
This apartment was great. Very nicely decorated and extremely clean. Bright and cheerful. The beds were comfortable and we had everything we needed. New Galloway is a pretty town and the locals are very friendly and helpful. We especially enjoyed our meal at The Smithy. I would definitely recommend this rental as place to stay in the New Galloway area.
Great spacious cottage flat with good quality beds and nice bathroom and sitting room
We had no problems communicating with the host and key collection. Few basics where missing in the house like tea towels, washing up liquid soaps and sharp big knife but overall was well supplied.
The village is very small in a lovely location with two tea/coffee shops, a pub and a small local shop. Unfortunately everything except the shop was closed over the NYE so its better to be prepared for this possibility!
Location is perfect if you want to do some hiking in the Galloway Forest National Park but you need a car to get to the walks.
Had a great 2 night stay recently with 2 friends, deceptively large property that gave us a generous double room each. Bathroom was lovely and having a washing machine and dryer although unused by us, will be a great benefit to others. We cooked in both nights and kitchen had everything we needed. Living room area is cosy, might be tight for 6 but was great for the 3 of us. Perfect base for the touring about we had planned. I would make sure you've done all your shopping before you arrive as although there is a small shop in village, it's a good 40 minute round trip to the nearest large store. Wouldn't hesitate to book this accomodation again, there's certainly loads more places to see that we didn't get to! Maybe having one of the rooms a twin would give more flexible options? (he says thinking there may be 4 of us next time haha!)
Nice apartment in central area of Dumfries & Galloway
Large 3 bedroom unit was much appreciated for our family of 4 during our 6 night stay. The pictures do not do justice to the length of the main hallway and the bedrooms.
The presence of a washing machine and separate dryer was great. Parking on the street near the apartment was not a problem.
Would have been nice to have basic essentials (toilet paper, soap, cleaning supplies) present on arrival as the nearest shopping is in Castle Douglas (12 miles away).
The location in New Galloway was central to all the places we wanted to visit (Ayr, Glasgow, Kirkcudbright, Carlisle, Hadrian's Wall), but New Galloway is quite small...the absence of a few more amenities such as restaurants and pubs and stores is all that prevents a rating of 5 stars.
Top-notch accommodation on the edge of the Galloway Forest
Our family of four spent five nights in the ground floor flat at Kenmure Court. We were really impressed by the accommodation - the place has been transformed into a pristine, modern living space that's well equipped. To be honest, we felt like we were the first people to have stayed there, it was immaculate.
The Galloway Forest Park is only a couple of miles away. We had our first sailing lesson at the nearby Galloway Activity Centre on Loch Ken. Beach trips to the wide open Luce Sands (about an hour's drive) and the slightly closer and murkier Dhoon beach near Kirkudbright (complete with shipwreck and quicksand...) A rainy day indoor swim in Castle Douglas followed by pancakes at the Double Dutch on the high street.
Kate always replied promptly to our emails and texts. Thank you for a brilliant stay.
Delighted you enjoyed your stay - hope to have you back sometime!
