Very poor , small, noises , no parking

  • 1 of 5

John is not a bad guy he just needs to learn how to take care of his guests he seems to think that he's doing you a huge favor by allowing you to stay there ,it's extremely noisy he didn't care , there is no parking he gave me a map and told me to park within 10 or 20 blocks if I could find a spot and then walk back to the basement room... TV did not work properly he was too busy to show me how to use it the first night just be very careful there's many other places to stay in the Washington area it wasn't very close to much of anything nothing was close enough to walk to , my wife and I travel a lot I would advise you keep looking for something a little better ,this is definitely the bottom of the barrel

Owner's Response: Sir, I apologize you feel our rental did not meet your expectations. We put a lot of effort into ensuring our guests have a pleasant stay. As for the noise, this is a major city and there are several factors that are still out of our control. We do live in a neighborhood (not downtown), but we are very close to most of the best restaurants in town and the National Mall. Everything we mention in our description is accurate. The vast majority of our guests in the past have agreed. We are close to the Metro, Bus Lines, BikeShare, and walking distance to much of what people come to D.C. to see. Some of your comments are surprising based on the feedback you gave us during your stay. You parked your car 8 feet from our front door so I am not sure why you claim it was hard to find parking. Our parking pass allows for street parking at no cost. My wife and I also park on the street. Unfortunately, we are unable to stand in an empty spot all day waiting for you to arrive (like you told me I should have). I do sincerely apologized for not spending more time showing you how to use the TV. My wife had made reservations for my birthday that evening and the taxi was waiting outside with the meter running. But I returned later that evening to make sure you had everything you needed. The TV was working fine for your whole stay. I should also mentioned your last second request to show up a day early (when we had dinner reservations). We bent over backwards to accommodate you and we still have not received payment for the additional night.

Great little getaway place to stay close to the DC sights/sounds

  • 4 of 5

Had a great time in DC and staying here made it sooo easy for us. Close to Bikeshare, Metro, Mia's Coffeehouse and cheap Uber/cab rides. We hit DC hard for 3 days and were able to get back quickly enough to take a nap in the afternoon...that's how close and easy it is. Nice and clean with coffee and TV. The only issue, and this isn't a huge deal for us, was that it was a little noisy at times from the occupants upstairs. Not rowdy noisy but just basic foot traffic was a little loud at times. However, would definitely stay again.

A great spot to experience residential life in Washington D.C.

  • 4 of 5

This property has a great location! I felt like I was an executive experiencing urban life in D.C. by having a safe apartment with great proximity to Lincoln Park, nearby restaurant and convenience stores, and neat architecture. It was close to the Capitol and all of the hustle and bustle of Washington D.C., but I was in a residential area that made me feel more at ease than the hotel environment. I love to exercise, so having a safe neighborhood and being close to Lincoln Park were great perks for me. So many people were out and about at Lincoln Park, and I especially liked to watch all of the dogs playing and getting some exercise. That also made the experience more like home.

Having meetings each day downtown I needed to get to and from the area during typical rush hours. I found that the distance was perfect to walk, and on days of inclement weather the taxi or Uber were very responsive and were cost effective.

The accommodations were very nice and the owners were very helpful and considerate. I appreciated both and would recommend this property to anyone looking for a nice, clean place to stay in a great city. Thanks to the owners for making this spot available. If given the opportunity, I would definitely stay here again!
