Ended up renting this home because the Country Inn at Berkeley Springs was booked full & what a find! So much more with all the amenities of a very clean, well-furnished, comfortable home (not to mention the outdoor perks of a wood stockpiled fire pit, grill, & even a pond!); yet within minutes drive of shops, restaurants, & even the beautiful state park. Will be recommending this teasure find to many family & friends.
The house was nice and the land was pretty. The information for the Wi-Fi was incorrect and our cell phones did not work at the property. Once we were in town we sent an email to the owner about the password but she did not reply until almost 24 hours later. We did not feel this was adequate communication especially if had it been an emergency at the cabin. There was a hurricane at our home at this time so staying informed and having a means to communicate was important.
Also, it would have been nice for the owner to disclose that there is a tenant living in the garage not even 10 feet from the house. While we did meet the man and he was very friendly, I feel this information should have been provided upfront instead of reading it in the book about the house.
Four of us spent a long weekend in mid-August and had a wonderful time. The house is clean and attractive both inside and outside. Everything you might need is supplied. The weather was very hot but the house was cool when we arrived and the A/C worked well throughout our stay. The property is beautiful and, like others, we enjoyed sitting outside and just watching the world go by. Turkeys crossed the property twice but we never saw the koi in the pond. Either they are gone or they stayed very deep. The TV is huge and so is the channel selection. Beds were comfortable. The house is just a couple of miles from the MD border and Harper's Ferry and Antietam are 60-75 minutes away. We hope to visit again. The yard should be spectacular in the autumn.
We had a great time staying here. It was quiet. Near Horse back ridding farm. Near my family that lives in Needmore and Warfordsburg Pa. We loved the nature and the pond was beautiful with fish to look at. Home was excellent and very clean! Plenty of room for a family gathering and dinner. I really enjoyed staying here! Can not wait to come again! Was a great time! I could stay here and not have to put my family out when coming to visit. I am from about 3 hrs away. Thanks again for great place to stay!!
Hannah's place was a great weekend getaway for the 4th of July! My boyfriend and I loved the cozy, quiet feel of the cottage. It was wonderful to wake up each morning and sit outside on the glider with our coffee. We heard many frogs and saw a turkey!
Everything was clean, tidy, and kept well. All the amenities worked well-we used the stove and oven for two dinners. Dianna even provided a gift basket of things we may have needed (shampoo and sanitizer were forgotten!)
Definitely would recommend for a weekend getaway, a couple(s), or a family. Plenty of room and things to do in the area! We visited the Blue Goose Market and the market in Hancock. We also visited Phantom Fireworks and Antietam for fireworks! Everything was amazing and we couldn't have asked for a better weekend away!
Beautiful, very clean, well maintained property and that goes from the house to the many acres surrounding the property. The kitchen is fully equipped with anything you would need, just bring your groceries. Wi-Fi is excellent, as is the cable, if you want to disconnect, there is a good supply of board games and good selection of dvd's. We did not get a chance to use the grill or fire ring but it is nice knowing it is there for those days to just sit back and relax. Beds were comfortable, and there are lots of dressers to unpack your clothing. Take a drive to Berkeley Springs ( 15 ) minutes and enjoy the cafes and shops! or just stay home and enjoy watching the deer come in from the woods and take a drink out of the pond. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here, could not find a thing we would change, hopefully we will be back again.
