NEW, MODERN, CLEAN 3 BEDROOM 2 1/2 BATHROOM

  • 4 of 5

Would have given 5 stars except for two issues: 1. the house across the street is filled with people of questionable character (of course, this is true of many city locations); 2. the single parking space was very tight for our car, thankfully we did not rent an over-sized SUV. Otherwise, the house was perfect - it allowed our family (mom, dad, daughter, son) to disperse into our own private areas for some downtime which never would have happened in a small, crammed hotel room. Because of VRBO, we may never stay in a hotel room again when traveling together as a family.

Beautiful home in a convenient location

  • 5 of 5

Our family of four stayed in this gorgeous, spotless home on our first trip to Seattle, and it was fantastic. Three floors gave us room to spread out. Well-equipped, modern kitchen (yes, with lots of staples and food there at your disposal!) made it easy to prep meals on those days we needed a break from sight-seeing. Having Trader Joes, Morsel (biscuits for breakfast!), Trinity Market (yummy deli) and a Catholic Church all within walking distance meant we really didn't need a car (we Ubered everywhere). Honestly - the home is beautifully furnished and touches like cozy blankets and tons of hangers are simple things that make it easy to unwind.

Only thing to note for other travelers: you'll be lugging your over-stuffed suitcases up one short flight of outdoor steps and two tall flights indoors if you're sleeping in the top bedroom, so account for that if you have less-than physically capable people in your group (suppose they could sleep in the ground floor bedrooms). Also, all beds are all full size, fine for the kids but not great for adults. You'll also hear street noise (sirens, dogs barking, etc) because you are in a residential area. Finally, the description says there's a view of Mount Ranier from the home, but I have no idea from what angle you'd see it. Doesn't matter - home will still a delight and was lovely to return to after a long day. Cathy and the owner were always responsive and Cathy even checked mid-way through to make sure we were having a great time. She gave us directions and suggestions for our final day when we exhausted our itinerary too! And the owner was so kind in allowing us to remain past check out the final day because we had a red-eye flight home and no place to keep our luggage - really going above and beyond for us! The minor things I mentioned really were just that - minor. We truly enjoyed our stay and would definitely recommend this home to anyone needing a great home base to explore Seattle!

Great location, wonderful place to stay

  • 5 of 5

We stayed in this vacation rental for 4 nights along with 2 other couples (siblings of my husband's and their spouses) to attend our son's wedding in Seattle. The house was close to the church, Gas Works park where their wedding pictures were taken as well as the reception site. It wasn't far from a hotel where another family member was staying and served as a meeting point for all of our kids who live in Seattle, and all of the relatives who were visiting Seattle (most for the first time) but staying in other places. All of us were from the Midwest and are used to wider streets which allow for two cars to drive down streets at the same time, which this street does not. The street in front of the house was amazingly busy and from one minute to the next the amount of available parking varied. The small roundabouts and narrow streets are a real adjustment for anyone not used to it. Safeway and Trader Joe's were within walking distance, which was nice. It was also easy access to the freeway.

The house was great and very comfortable and we were amazed at how much food was in the cupboards for anyone to use; all kinds of bathroom amenities were supplied and lots of hangers in the master bedroom closet along with iron, ironing board and the washer and dryer right outside the bedroom.

Both the owner and property manager were wonderful to work with and Cathy went above and beyond to pick up one couple who were downtown at a McDonald's and almost out of cell phone charge on their phones. They had arrived very early in the morning and taken a shuttle downtown and explored for a while and were exhausted after traveling all night to get there. She took them to the house and showed them everything and called us to let us know everything was good to go. Both of them were wonderful to work with and very responsive whenever we had a question or needed anything.
