About Mary Kober

Are you the one who checks out the real estate listings when you go on vacation and who dreams about someday owning one? That dream became real for me when I purchased a lakefront cottage, remodeled it, and made it my home. I love to swim and kayak in this beautiful lake and to putter in the garden.

Why Mary Kober chose Lake Winnipesaukee

I wanted a place that would accommodate 3 generations in my family: the little ones who love to live in the water, play Legos on the deck, and pick blueberries for pancakes, the young adults who like to say up late and sleep late (master bedroom, bath, living area, flat screen tv, and coffee bar on second floor) and the ones who appreciate ramps, larger doorways, and first floor access to bedrooms and baths.

What makes this house unique

My landscaper designed a beautiful waterfall feature, which you can enjoy from the side deck. Access to a new Weber grill and two kayaks. Fish from the dock. (Catch and release.)

Perfect family escape!

  • 5 of 5

This was just what we were looking for.

The house was great. It was spacious, modern, elegant and had everything we needed. Beds were all very comfortable. kids had fun taking turns in the double or bunk bed.

Great views of the lake from the dinning area, nice sitting area or even from the kitchen! Plenty of space to hangout, play games, watch TV.

The lake was fantastic! It was quiet and peaceful all week and we had a great time kayaking/paddle boarding along the shore or around the islands.

It is very clean and there was a great spot for swimming right along the dock and right below the large deck where we could sit and watch the kids. As others have mentioned, we spent most of our time out hanging out on the deck. There's ample seating with space to eat, sit and read in the sun or just listen to the waves and watch the sun set. Neighbors were all friendly, but we hardly ever saw anyone. The house and lake front really felt secluded even though there were houses on both sides. A few times we even had the privilege to watch a couple loons go by.

We also tried fishing a couple times and my daughter caught a small bass right from the dock.

Our dog loved watching the birds and chipmunks that frequented the property and we couldn't keep her out of the water.

The owner was very friendly and accommodating. She got right back to us when we had a question and was always ready to do what she could do for us to have a good time.

Nearby area is nice as well. About 10-15 minutes to just about anything you'd want (restaurants/grocery shopping).

We wanted a peaceful, relaxing week with everything we needed and that's just what we got.

As lovely as advertised, and more!

  • 5 of 5

This house is even nicer than it looks on the pictures -- west facing, so you have beautiful afternoon light and sunsets. The dock and deck are fantastic, so is the hammock and the garden. The extra living space upstairs was perfect as it allowed my husband to "get away" to work. The dining room and kitchen work really well -- and the view was so great from inside we hardly felt we needed to bother to eat outside. And it was nice to find a kitchen so well stocked with utensils and basics for any kind of meal. The lake itself is also a gem -- big enough for loons and kayaking excursions, but very quiet and peaceful with not a lot of motorcraft even on a weekend afternoon in August. Mary is wonderful to deal with and there's plenty to do nearby. I especially recommend the short hike to the top of Mt. Major, which offers spectacular views for a relatively short climb. We definitely hope to be back!

Amazing Vacation home right on the Lake

  • 5 of 5

This home is lovely and very clean. It had everything we needed.

Home sits right on sunset lake with an amazing large deck right on the water and beautiful views of the belknap Mountain range.

The Deck is great for dinner, drinks, reading or just relaxing by the outdoor fireplace.

We had 3 generation vacationing and we all absolutely loved it. Great for all ages.

We spent most of our days swimming, kayaking and paddle boarding( which are provided by owner) We also spent day hiking in the near by Belknap Mountains and another day visiting the quaint town of Alton Bay and picturesque Lake Winnipesaukee.

Overall one of our best family vacations.

Mary, the owner was amazing. She had home cooked cookies baked for us on our arrival and

gave us a detailed description of her homes amenities. She was very hospitable, attentive and kind. We Highly recommend this home for a vacation

One of my favorite family vacations ever...

  • 5 of 5

Mary was simply a joy to work with. The house was so relaxing and beautiful. All of the amenities you could ever want or need were there. The lake was simply breathtaking. Every morning we woke up to loons calling and a bald eagle on the boulder in the middle of the lake. I would recommend this to anyone hoping for a quiet home with plenty to do.

Family Weekend Away

  • 5 of 5

We spent a long weekend at this property and we invited our family along. In total, we had 8 adults and a newborn grandson along. We had plenty of room to stay in the spacious house, which also allowed for multiple activities to happen simultaneously due to the home layout. We gave our son and daughter-in-law the upstairs bedroom space with their newborn son. They were originally planning to only stay one night because they were concerned the baby would wake everyone during the night, but that didn't happen and they ended up staying both nights. The home lends itself well to relaxation, as we were able to spend our mornings with a great breakfast view of the lake, and then we'd be at the waterfront by noon and spend the afternoon enjoying the lakefront. The lake is perfect for swimming, and kayaking, and was enjoyed by everyone. The dockside deck is a great place to spend the afternoon. Our family dog also joined us and he had as much fun as we did. Some of our group went off one morning for a nearby hike that led them to a great view of the big lake. We enjoyed the peacefulness of the home and lakefront, and especially the sunsets in the evenings after enjoying a barbeque dinner.

Enjoy a Quiet Getaway

  • 5 of 5

We stayed here in early summer of 2015, and had a wonderful trip. We had a large party, but the house slept all of us comfortably. The house is well cared for, clean, and cozy. It is situated right on the lake with its own dock. We spent a lot of time swimming and fishing. It is a calm and quiet lake, and is perfect for a sunset kayak trip or some early morning paddle board exercise. We ate many of our lunches on the lakeside deck. In the evenings we played cards in the dining room overlooking the lake and listened to the loons. Can't wait for our next trip here!
