City of Port Aransas Reg.#184031

This quaint cottage has a large living area with flat screen TV and sofa and reclining loveseat. There is also a huge dining table in the adjoining space where everyone can sit and eat the day's catch. In the kitchen, there is an electric stove and oven, microwave, and appliances. The kitchen is well appointed with cooking, serving, and dining accessories.

The master bedroom has the MOST comfortable king bed. That room reminds you of a seaside cottage with bead board walls, oak hardwood floors, and a big wardrobe to hold your changes of swimsuits and sunhats.

The back bedroom has two full beds and also a wall hung flat screen TV. There is also a loveseat for lounging. There are two closets located in this room. The backdoor leads to the porch where the washer/dryer are located. On the back of the house is a screened porch and the spacious yard has a fire pit.

The Light House offers a taste of Port Aransas the way it "used to be" before all the development and condos flooded the town. You will step back in time but be thoroughly comfortable in your surroundings.

Include all the new attractions to your Port Aransas visit! A Pirate Ship is now at Deep Sea Headquarters. Schlitterbahn water park is just 18 miles away. The Aransas Queen Casino ship now has morning and evening cruises available. The ship is located between Port Aransas and Aransas Pass on Hwy 35.

It was adequate....a little maintenance and finishing touches could make it awesome

  • 4 of 5

House Ok....really would only take a little maintenance & few extra touches to make it great.

Close to town, only about 1.5 miles from beach. Kitchen fairly well equipped. Knew there was no dishwasher, so wasn't bothered by it.. Beds comfy and clean and bedrooms spacious. Bath is small, but nice, with large walk in shower & plenty of clean towels. appreciated that they supplied hand soap, garbage bags, paper towels, dish soap, and even had shampoo packets/soaps. Also supplied beach towels (although small kid size). There were also beach toys, beach chairs and canopy...had we known they were there, we could have saved packing. Loved having fenced yard for kids and dog. Kids enjoyed making s'mores on fire pit . Enjoyed cooking on charcoal grill. Front porch swing is nice and liked that it's gated for dog and toddler. Outdoor shower nice for rinsing off sand... management might want to mention it...I'd have never known it was there if it weren't for my boys exploring yard. (Mgmt might want to mention some of these amenities) Reclining loveseat isuper comfy and there's a DVD player for afternoon movies after a day at the beach. Nice that was dog friendly and pet fee is low. Loved big, unique dining table.

What could be better? Mostly just needs some maintenance and a good cleaning. A few little touches could make it great. kitchen is disorganized mess, so really have to search to find things. There's hardly any silverware. Lid to the coffee maker is broken. Microwave is a mystery. Not much storage in the kitchen, so a bit silly having a cabinet with a sign "do not open for safety reasons"...why not replace with functional cabinet. There was dish mat and sponge but mat had mold spots and both stunk ....for .79 each could spring for a new sponge for each guest. Dining area fan rattled terribly, guessing due to heavy dust build up. There's a line of fuzzy dust all along the bedroom wall. Spilled water on floor right after we arrived and it was filthy when I wiped with a paper towel. Bulbs burnt out on screened porch. Paint cans and junk on back porch. Fans outside are rusty and look like they'll fall if you turn on. Some comfy furniture on screened porch (just has $5 hard plastic chairs) would be great, also maybe a table for outdoor eating. Gas grill falling apart...didn't try to use. Screen torn in screen door. Turned dehumidifier and reeked like tuna! Outside shower area smells like urine. Couch is shot. Just needs maintenance and deep clean

The lighthouse

  • 4 of 5

The light house was great. Close to everything on the island. Loved the backyard for our dogs. The fire pit was a huge plus, we made s'mores with our kids. The only thing I did not like about our stay was checkout. We paid a cleaning fee when booking our stay. But yet we were required to wash our own dishes and take the trash out, etc. so what is the $60 cleaning fee for then if we are having to clean when we leave? We were there 5 days and had to hand wash dishes in a sink that's faucet barely works. Also when we arrived we found trash in every one of the rooms, and backyard. My advice; get a dishwasher and a new cleaning crew. Other than that had a great stay!

My Secret

  • 5 of 5

I almost don't want to review this place because then it will always be booked. My last experience in Port A was so bad that I almost didn't want to go back. Thankfully, we did and it was amazing for my family. The house has a full kitchen, comfy living area and the backyard is amazing for entertaining.

Cute and comfy

  • 5 of 5

We enjoyed this cute house, which was perfect for our dog and children - all of whom could roam out in the large, completely fenced in back yard. The front porch is also enclosed, which was convenient for the little ones and four-legged friend as well! The kids room was spacious.
