A Cozy Couples Cabin

Space 1,100 sq. ft.
Property type cabin
Minimum Stay 2 - 6 nights

About the property

Reserve your spot for all-season fun and sports. Cute 2 bedroom (two full-size beds plus an air mattress available), 1.5 bath cabin in wooded Kachina Village at an elevation of 7000 feet and only six miles from Flagstaff, AZ. Near The Grand Canyon, the Flagstaff Snow Bowl (less than 30 minutes away), Wupatki National Monument, Sedona, Sunset Crater, Hopi and Navaho reservations and numerous other sites. Or, travel to these beautiful areas by car as day trips. The Cabin offers a 60 inch 3D-Smart TV, Wireless high speed Internet, Fireplace, and a wide variety of reading material and Board Games. The basics are supplied (coffee, condiments, cooking utensils, dishware, linens, etc). You'll enjoy having your coffee or tea in the Sun Room watching neighbors walking their dogs. Neighbors are friendly in this secure, rural village. There is a convenience store and Subway located at the gas station as you enter Kachina Village. Should you choose to build a fire in the rustic fireplace on one of our snow days or cold nights you'll find an ample supply of wood. Most days are sunny averaging 265 sunny days per year so there is plenty of opportunity to get outdoors having fun in the snow or enjoying the many hiking/ biking trail heads many which are located right in Kachina Village close to the cabin. Astounding natural wonders, invigorating outdoor recreation and fascinating cultural attractions make Flagstaff the perfect getaway to rejuvenate the body and replenish the mind. Set at the base of the beautiful San Francisco Peaks, and surrounded by lush national forests, the city provides ample opportunity for fresh air fun. Spring, summer and fall bring hikers, campers, horseback riders and mountain bikers, while winter draws skiers, snowboarders, snowshoers, and ice skaters. But don't let a focus on the 'good old outdoors' fool you. Fostered by the local university, Flagstaff, part of the historic Route 66, is also chock-full of educational and cultural attractions. (So be sure to take a look at the Arizona sites and recreation manual on the kitchen counter). The cabin is less than 3 miles from Pulliam Airport and 2.5 hours by car from Sky Harbor Airport in Phoenix. Always feel free to call me to answer any questions you may have about the cabin or area. Enjoy your stay! **Please Note** This Cabin is still owned by Sandy, but in a move to allow her to travel more, Sandy has turned turned the management over to fellow Flagstaff Cabin owner, Steve Sasman as of Dec 1, 2014. You can expect the same great cabin and service as always!

About Steve Sasman

I manage this Cabin for Sandy Bayes, as I own another cabin a few blocks away. Both this cabin and my own were purchased in 2006, a fantastic time to buy real estate if you like high prices :) In order to keep the property, I turned it into a rental and discovered a great way to let travelers really experience Flagstaff like a local. It's so much more interesting than a hotel, and a great use of property that would otherwise sit vacant most of the time.

Steve Sasman purchased this cabin in 2006

Why Steve Sasman chose Canyon Country & Northeast

Sandy says: 'Having traveled fairly extensively I came to believe that Flagstaff is the most perfect place to live and I love sharing this beautiful area with others. I bought this cabin knowing that it represents the ambience of the area I love.'

A Cozy Couples Cabin
average rating of 4.714286 based on 7 reviews

Very nice house really in quiet neighborhood. Easy access to area sites.

  • 4 of 5

This is a little older but kept up pretty well. A new queen bed was delivered while we were there which helped since the old one was squishy. The owner is very responsive in replying to any concerns our questions we had. The dishwasher was not working when we were there but that is minor and the owner was having the repair guy come to look at it. No central air but Flagstaff gets chilly at night. All in all a good trip. A little more maintenance being completed this week be an easy five star rating.

perfect rental for our vacation!

  • 5 of 5

We were in the flagstaff area because we were taking our little ones on the Polar express in Williams Az. This worked out perfect and we will defiantly keep this cabin in mind for next year as well. It was in a great neighborhood with friendly neighbors but it was still surrounded with the pines which is exactly what we wanted! When arriving to the cabin everything was set up and well marked leaving no questions which allowed us to start our vacation immediately! We had amazing time!

The cabin is very comfortable. Plenty of cooking utensils, comfy living room, and the beds were great. It was a perfect size and location for me and my two daughters.

Great Location

  • 4 of 5

We enjoyed our stay at the cozy cabin. Nice neighborhood and conveniently located. The instruction/welcome sheet was lost so we didn't have basic instructions on using wifi or TV. But when we called Steve, he was helpful.

Unfortunately, most of the dishes in the kitchen were dirty so we had to re wash what we wanted to use. The sheets were dirty but there were extra in the cabinet to use.

This place to stay made for an enjoyable visit to the area.

A great home base!

  • 5 of 5

The Kachina Village cabin was a great home base for the front half of our family vacation to AZ this March. We spent three nights (four days) at the cabin and were able to catch all the local attractions like the Grand Canyon, Walnut Canyon, Sunset Crater Volcano, Lowell Observatory, Wupatki, and much more. The cabin has a nice country feel, but is only 10 mins from the modern conveniences of Flagstaff for groceries, retail, etc. We were traveling with our 8yr old son, so the outdoor basketball hoop was also a nice touch! It is a very quiet relaxed neighborhood which is exactly what we were looking for. Steve provided clear instructions on how to get to and into the property. I would certainly recommend this property to a friend.
