Why Melanie chose Isle of Arran
Channel View has been in the family for over 50 years. It was bought by my father and 4 generations of the family have enjoyed many holidays with wonderful memories. It has been recently refurbished in 2016 including central heating and modern bathrooms. It is also close to the beautiful area known as Kings Cross point where there is a historical Viking fort and burial ground. This area is also maintained by the family, where locals and holiday makers can walk, picnic and enjoy the wonderful views.
What makes this Cottage unique
The cottage holds many fond memories and is a well known landmark in Kings Cross.

A fantastic week on Arran
Channel View is a beautiful, cosy cottage with much character and atmosphere and a lovely sea view. Everything was perfect, clean, tidy and comfortable. The kitchen is very well equipped, so that we enjoyed cooking our meals very much. When we arrived we found a delicious olive bread, Arran jam and a welcome card on the kitchen table, in the fridge there was milk and in the cupboards all the things you might need for a start - everything very much appreciated. The bedrooms and bathrooms couldn't have been better. It was a brilliant place for our family get together and we all felt very much at home. Thank you so much.
Charming, well equipped cottage in a fantastic setting
Our family really enjoyed our stay at the cottage. It is very well equipped, cosy and homely. It is nestled in beautiful quiet surroundings and the views are also stunning. We had a week of settled weather walking and hiking on the island and the scenery and wildlife were spectacular.. There is so much more to explore on Arran and we would definitely love to return again, especially the cottage.

Fantastic property in a brilliant location!
A fantastically well equipped house for a family in a absolutely stunning location. The house is extremely well presented and has everything that could be wished for. Great garden for children and lovely inside if wet or around fire in the evenings. Can’t recommend highly enough!

Great family stay, ideal location and wee dog came too. Perfect
Couldn’t have asked for more. If I thought of something I needed it was there. Spotless, beautifully decorated but comfortable and welcoming home. We absolutely loved our stay and Roxy dog was delighted to be with us although spent most of her time asleep in her basket after long days exploring. Great views from the house. I enjoyed the peace of a morning cup of tea gazing out over the water. Nice walks nearby, thanks for the google maps! Easy walk to whiting bay for beaches, food and drinks. The sun shone and we enjoyed the garden, some of us with an arran gin in hand. Hope to return to this lovely spot again soon. Relaxing stay from start to finish.
Thank you for taking the time to write such a lovely review. I am glad you had a lovely holiday and found everything you needed at the cottage. We look forward to welcoming you back

Wonderful Cottage in a great location
The property was absolutely lovely, beautifully maintained and welcoming with a touch of luxury.
The location is great if you want a nice peaceful holiday with splendid views and inspiring walks.
An added bonus was that the property is genuinely dog friendly. Pete, our greyhound, was as much at home as we were.
Thank you for your lovely review. We are glad you found the cottage comfortable and that Pete enjoyed his stay as well.
In Whiting Bay you have you have:
The Trafalgar inside Wolf and Gigi who run it are never dull and the food is always good.
Felicity's Bar does nice food and you can just go in for a drink. They have a 2 for 1 offer on fish and chips before 6 on a Friday which is excellent. They have a nice menu to.
Coast has live fiddling music and a good menu and does a Sunday roast.
The Coffee Pot does great coffee and cakes and lunches.
The Drift is very good menu, you don't book its first come first serve it’s also a bar.
Glen-isle Hotel is nicely decorated and if it's a wet day nice to go inside, they sell local ale on draught. Good food, coffee etc
Lamlash Hotel Does pizza and steaks but its changed hands and don't know how good it is. The Pier Café is wonderful for coffee and lunch
Fiddlers plays live music sort of folk, country music, foods good. It's the same family who run Coast in Whiting Bay.
Brodick Bar the food here is excellent hard to beat on the island although The Drift is good. The Brodick Bar is more expensive, again you don't book first come first serve. It's usually always busy.
The Douglas Hotel is straight in front of you as you get of the ferry. It had a massive refit and is done out to an excellent standard.
The Little Rock café is nice for coffee and cake and lunch, Dog friendly.
Stag Restaurant you need to book, it's meant to be very good
Blackwaterfoot There is a new restaurant which is meant to be excellent
In Whiting Bay, you have the Bay Stores next to The Trafalgar in Sandbraes, fantastic little shop sells everything. Artisan bread, local veg, fruit from Glasgow market and meat and fish sourced locally. My favourite shop!!!! They do great coffee sit in or takeaway and cakes and muffins to die for. They are dog friendly.
There are loads of walks on your doorstep to Kings Cross Point, walks to Whiting Bay, Glenashdale Falls, Giants Graves and Eas Mhor.
The bus stops just a 10 mins walk from the cottage going both ways. Use it if you want to drink as Scotland has zero tolerance to drinking anything and driving.
