About Sarah Patten
I was born and raised in Pouch Cove and my family also lives here. I lived in Labrador City for 12 years from 1965 to 1977 and my son and daughter were born there. I moved back in 1977 and built this house that I am currently renting. I have an unobstructed view of the Atlantic ocean and it is approximately 50 feet from my door. I decided to rent my home because I am a cancer survivor and want to retain my home. I am not yet ready to sell. And this keeps me busy and I meet lots of wonderful people.
Sarah Patten purchased this House in 1977
Why Sarah Patten chose Pouch Cove
This property has a great location of the Pouch Cove Harbour. You can see all around the harbour.

Unique way to stay that is close to St. John's and communities near Pouch Cove
Kids loved it here and even after a week did not want to leave. We had a chance to meet the family, the dogs and Trinity. Right at the East Coast Trail (with stunning walking) with many amenities in the house we had it all over the week. Definitely a hit with all 5 travellers (3 adults and 2 kids). We had a chance to see cleaning of Cod too. This would definitely be at the top of the list for any return visit to St. John's!
Summer in Paradise
We did not know what to expect on our first trip to Newfoundland for our daughters wedding day. When we arrived and saw the beautiful home on the ocean with a magnificent view we knew we had arrived in paradise. The sunny coast, the fog on the mountains, the ocean breeze and the rugged cliffs all came together for a truly Canadian holiday. Sarah and her entire family were gracious hosts from the outset and JJ even got us out on the water. Jonathan proudly told us all about the local sights which was very helpful. And the home itself was spacious, clean and welcoming. Being Canadian ourselves, we were filled with pride in the magnificent landscapes and the friendly locals. We were all so happy with this holiday, and hope that one day we can return to the east coast one day. Until then we will fondly remember our summer in paradise.
We loved hosting the Bishop's and were so glad we were able to provide a boat ride for them as well. Hope all went well with the wedding and would love for you to visit again at any time.
Beautiful view, I highly recommend
Everything you need is there for you. Beautiful home and we loved feeding Trinity their pet horse. Hope to come back soon.
Larry and Louise were wonderful guests. They were like old friends They enjoyed the area and weather was beautiful. Would love to host them again.
Sarah and family were extremely welcoming. The house and location were awesome.
We had a grand time in Newfoundland and Pouch Cove. The only thing we would suggest for the house is more silverware. Thanks so much
Thank you Scott and family for choosing our property for your vacation. I am so glad you enjoyed it. I especially enjoyed the chat with your dad re politics. Come back again!
We enjoyed a 3 night stay in this wonderful family home, in a great location. We so appreciate the fact that the owners are animal lovers...they let us bring our dogs with us, without a fuss and at no extra charge. We love the location! It is only a short drive from all the amenities of St. Johns and yet you get to stay in a small historic community, with access to the east coast trail. The trail literally goes by the back door. The home itself is welcoming and has everything you could possibly need for a short or long stay. We would definitely stay here again.
Peaceful And welcoming home away from home
If you are looking for a tranquil, homey getaway, Sarah's place might be exactly what you are in need of! The family property is situated right on the water, the slightest hint of the waves crashing on the shore below can be heard. Loud enough to be a comfort for those who relax around water. Quiet enough to not disturb a peaceful evening.
We were welcomed warmly, and felt right at home during our weekend escape. Our dogs were welcomed too, without question! I only wish we could've stayed longer. We sure are hoping to return! Thanks Sarah!!!
