Four Bedroom House, Sleeps 8
Home from Home Holidays
Lovely house in a great location
Stayed for a week with in-laws and two children. House was nicely set up, with plenty of plates, cutlery, pots and pans. Three showers, one of which is in one of the rooms, all very clean and very hot water. Beds and bedding are high quality and very comfortable! One of the bedrooms is downstairs so choose carefully who sleeps here, as there could be noise travel from the living room. Our kids both slept upstairs so wasn't an issue for us.
Location is great - 30 seconds walk from Shanklin high street, with plenty of restaurants and shops. Beach is maybe 10-15 minutes walk - Shanklin beach is at the bottom of a steep incline, so be ready to pay for the lift down or have strong legs!
Our first visit to the Isle of Wight and we'd definitely consider staying in this house again.
The house is tired and there are too many personal knick-knacks, cushions and ornaments which are not needed at all. Unfortunately the house had not been cleaned and we had to wash the sheets and wait til the next morning before the cleaner came. Also just to say that my granddaughter had a cough which could have been brought about with the use of feather pillows and duvets. I feel in these days of hypoallergenic bedding and with lots of people not able to use feathers, I would like to see this use discontinued.
Location was great, and after a clean, the place was well equipped with a brilliant wet room. We did enjoy our stay, the children had a great time and loved their first trip to the island.
Very big accommodation bedrooms good size beds very comfortable love the patio from kitchen nice to sit early morning
Close to village , very handy not having to drive there , loads of eating places and close to sea front , nice walk . I come to the island every year this year was nice because we had loads of room in the house and was not bumping in to each other . Look forward to next year
The service from home from home was excellent to they also arrange the ferry crossing too many thanks
Lovely house in a great location, so much information on hand to give a brilliant stay.
We used the house as a base for the Isle of Wight festival and are glad we chose this house
I would recommend and use for the future
Thank you so much for taking the time to write this lovely review! We're always thrilled to receive positive feedback and I will ensure your comments are passed onto the owner. We look forward to welcoming you back to Pembroke Villa and the Isle of Wight soon!
Very enjoyable break
We had a very enjoyable break at Pembroke Villas, and the location was excellent. Everything we needed in Shanklin was within easy walking reach, with good pubs, restaurants and also the theatre. The locals were very friendly, and were made to feel very welcome.
We had a few fairly chilly days, but the central heating made the place warm up fairly quickly when we needed it.
Minor criticisms - we couldn't find any bleach to keep the WCs clean, and there was no food recycling bags or caddy.
Thank you for taking the time to leave this positive review. Pembroke Villa is one of our most popular properties and any feedback is welcome as we endeavour to improve our service. Any guests that arrive an do not find the cleanliness to their satisfaction must call the office on arrival and the cleaner will be sent to rectify the situation. This matter is extremely import and we expect the property to be at the highest standard so this will be passed onto our cleaning company. Cleaning products are not generally supplied in self catering accommodation for health and safety reasons. food bags are not supplied by the council the caddie however should be present at the property, we are very sorry this was not the case and we will order a replacement. Shanklin is a wonderful location and we are very glad you agree. We hope you got home safely and wish you all the best
Will never use Home from Holidays again
Upon arrival we found the villa had not been cleaned since the previous guests - there was an awful smell, the place was filthy & the bathroom door was broken. We contacted Home from Home who said they would send cleaners out and that we were expected to wait for them. Difficult when we were due at wedding celebrations and had nowhere to get changed or showered. Had to stay in alternative accommodation. Home from Home have finally refunded 50% of our rental but I am still battling for 100%. Very disappointed indeed
Shanklin lies to the south of Sandown, its sister resort within the Sandown Bay area, and is back-dropped by the dramatic red cliffs of Luccombe and the sandstone cliffs along the bay. It also has some of the best sandy beaches on the island and is a popular level walk all the way from Sandown, a few miles away. The famous Shanklin Chine is one of Britain's oldest visitor attractions and was popular with Victorian visitors as a natural wonder. The delightful waterfall and rare plants make it a firm favourite to this day and it also connects the beach with Shanklin Old Village; a picturesque collection of thatched, Island-stone cottages that now have a range of boutiques, gift shops, cafes and restaurants to enjoy. Shanklin itself has long been a popular location and as well as the beach, it has a delightful selection of eateries, shops and amenities. The train station here connects with Ryde Pier via Lake, Sandown, Brading and Ryde Esplanade.
The Isle of Wight is famous for its superb beaches, dramatic coastlines and outstanding natural beauty, making it a holiday haven with something for everyone. From secluded coves and wide expanses of sandy beaches to coastal paths and woodland, it's not just the stunning landscapes that attract visitors to the island, but also the variety of things to see and do. Rich in a wide variety of sporting and leisure activities, it's no wonder visitors return year after year. Self-catering is the most popular option because it is both cost effective and offers the flexibility and freedom to come and go as you please.
