Our sweet 2 bedroom cottage is nestled in a beautiful country setting against the mountains just 5 minutes from Waimanalo beach & 15 minutes to famed Lanikai Beach. One room boasts a memory foam queen-size bed. The second room is a cozy king that can be converted to two twins upon request. A portable crib is available, as well a little feeding chair. Ceiling fans, lots of windows and cool breezes throughout. The kitchen has everything you could possible need, including organic olive & coconut oils, balsamic vinegar, salt, pepper, coffee, cooking spray, large & small appliances, and more. The bathroom is stocked with shampoo, conditioner, body wash, a small first aid kit and plenty of fresh towels. We provide adult & child size snorkels, boogie boards, kayak, plush beach towels, chairs, umbrella & small cooler. Don't miss the mountain views from your comfortable outdoor seating while you grill up your meal or sip on some coffee. Friendly dogs, roosters & chickens really bring home the country vibe. Feel free to set up a time with us to come explore the aquaponics & garden, and maybe have a peek at the sheep! Cozy furniture, tv, cable & high-speed interenet. We've also installed a land line for your convenience as cell phone reception is spotty. Parking is right outside your gate, off of the street, with your own private entrance from the long term renters next door (who are great people :)).

About Leah Distad
Aloha Travelers! We are a fun family who enjoy meeting new people and traveling ourselves! The farm life suits us and we are stoked we get to do it with the beach so close as we enjoy surfing and beach fun too. As a yoga teacher & tattoo artist, we love contributing to our community and enriching peoples lives. We were born and raised in the Seattle and Southern California areas and have lived on the island for nearly 15 years. Both our daughters were born here. It's our mission now to provide an epic experience for your vacation! Hope to meet you in the future. Aloha, Leah and family

Good Value - Thank You.
Thanks for the great place on Oahu, Leah. We were very happy for our short stay. The one thing I might say is that the drive way is a little hard to find at night (even after we had been there during the day).

Great local living!
We loved our stay at the country cottage. We had lived in Hawaii before and this really felt like the local living that we missed. Leah and her family were gracious hosts who gave us fruit from their farm and eggs. My kids loved the farm tour and the dogs who came to visit. We can’t wait to come back! Mahalo!
Don't trust your GPS to get you to this property. It was a little bit of a challenge to find but the directions provided by Leah took us directly to the house. The house is tucked in between two houses that are VERY close and parking was interesting. It was easy to park but not always easy to get out. The occupants of the adjacent houses share the parking area. There was a lot of slow moving traffic in the Waimanalo area especially at rush hour and it was exacerbated by the construction on Kalanianaole Hwy.The location of this property was ideal for visiting Waikiki beach and most of the usual tourist attractions without being in the crowded Honolulu area.
Leah left a very nice welcome letter, Mauna Loa chocolate treats, and fresh cut flowers. The shower in the only bathroom was small and the showerhead was broken but functional and everything was clean. Many people commented in the guest book how much they loved the roosters. We had quite the opposite reaction. They started crowing at around 3:00 AM and kept it up all morning. The washer and dryer are outside on the side of the house and this being Oahu, there was a lot of rust on the outside of the machines and sand on dirt on the inside. A quick rinse cycle before putting our clothes in took care of the dirt inside the machines and they worked as expected.
If you are vacationing on Oahu and are looking for a place were you can get away from the dense tourist area of Honolulu, I highly recommend this property.
For all you animal lovers like myself. Don’t let the goat fool you ! The place was a total Scan .
No air conditioning , the place was filthy, windows had screens, but the bugs ate us alive, the bedrooms were tiny with small closets, the shower tiles were Ancient ! The outside washer dryer were so rusty. The kitchen was tiny with minimum appliances ! The owner was really nice. She greeted us with a Hugh. I guess that was an early Apology for what we were to experience. I even had to fight for my deposit Refund. Truly a Disgrace .
This was our second time staying in Leah's guest cottage. The experience was again fantastic! It is the perfect getaway for a family--thank you so much for having us. The onsite yoga studio was also a wonderful addition this time around.
Everything great. Would love to return someday. Thank you!
The Country Cottage has a prime location tucked near the mountains, just enough to make you feel like you're in the country without being far away from anything! The beach is a 5 minute drive and is stunning, hiking is accessible just at the end of the street, Kailua & Lanikai beaches are 10-15 minute drive. Sea Life Park & Makapu'u Lighthouse are a 10-15 minute drive the opposite direction. Great local, healthy food fare at Sweet Home Waimanalo, wonderful Mexican food at Serg's, and amazing homemade ice cream at Dave's. All located within 5-10 minutes along the highway in Waimanalo, and easily accessed via the backroads from the cottage.
