Cabin was built in 2004 and sleeps up to 4 people comfortably and has a full kitchen, living room/ dining area with free Wi-Fi.
I am a local realtor with a passion for outdoors & golf! My family purchased this cabin recently to enjoy being close to Lake of the Woods as well as other mountain lakes close by. We enjoy water skiing, fishing as well as snowmobiling in the winter. My wife owns a beauty salon in beautiful Ashland Oregon just 30 minutes from the cabin. Our goal is to make this cabin feel like your home a way from home while your enjoying the beauty of the area.
Jake Rockwell purchased this cabin in 2015
With a full acre and natural surroundings enjoy peace and quiet away from the resort while still taking advantage of the resort activities when you choose to. Only a short 7 miles to the actual resort or even shorter distance to the lake itself from our cabin. Great spot to stay for people wanting to visit Crater Lake National Park and the surrounding lakes. An additional 4 lakes within 20 miles of the cabin with several resorts & restaurants to choose from year around. Crater Lake National Park is about an hour drive. Our cabin is clean with new furniture and comfortably sleeps 4-5 people. Very comfortable setting.
Summers are thriving in the area with 5 different lakes and the popular Lake of the Woods Resort which has boat rentals, restaurants, live music, stores & more! In the winters you can snowmobile to the cabin from surrounding trails. Enjoy quite time while in the cabin away from the resort. We offer fishing gear, snowshoes and the area offers year around fun! There is even a tubing/sledding hill 20-30 miles away!
My family (including dog) had a great time at the cabin. It's a very nice property and everything was clean and tidy and comfortable. It was the right size for my husband, me, and our son. It was a perfect relaxing trip. We had a lot of snow, which we were prepared for, so make sure that you have food and essentials. The roads do get plowed, so you can go into town if you wish (which is about an hour away, but there is a convenient store in Odessa). There is a landline, and I imagine in summer, there are more people around. However, we wanted to get away, and be by ourselves and it was perfect for that. We had the best time just relaxing , playing games, watching movies, etc. Will definitely try to come back. Crater lake is relatively close when the weather is nicer for activities, and I saw ski lifts and zip lines on the way back, so there's stuff to do if you want. We will take advantage of these activities if we come back, which I would definitely like to.
This was our second consecutive winter vacation spent in this cabin and it already feels like another home.
The location is perfect for winter or summer activities. Hyatt Lake, Howard Prairie, and Lake of the woods are all just a short, beautiful drive from here. We love sledding with the kids at table mountain winter park and cross-country skiing around the great meadow near Lake of the Woods.
"Cozy" describes the cabin perfectly. Wonderful atmosphere. The loft is roomy enough for our young family of four -- baby in the pack n' play, four-year-old in the small bed, and wife and I in the very comfortable queen. The kitchen is well-equipped for cooking, and the dining room table is beautiful! There is plenty of light because there are plenty of windows (very important to me) and nothing but nature outside each one.
We have had nothing but good experiences with all communications with the owner.
If I had to gripe about something, I would say that, with all that hard, cold tile downstairs, the tiny round rug with the edges curling up just doesn't cut it, especially if you have youngsters. For Christmas next year, the cabin wants a big, lush rug! Also, the first year we had no problems with the wifi, but this year we couldn't connect. My mom had a cabin nearby and we had no problems there, but no luck at our place. Minor annoyance this time.
As the five star rating suggests, overall we were very happy with our stay. We will definitely be back here as long as its available. Thank you!
A year later and we visted the cabin once more. Was it all we remembered it to be?
A place to get away from it all (including our cell phones)? Check!
Lots of fresh air and a beautiful outdoor setting? Check!
An impeccable cozy cabin with huge windows to watch the snow falling? Check! Check!
What more could you ask for?
Will we be coming back for a third time? CHECK!
We really enjoyed our stay! It snowed almost 12 inches while we were there! So much fun! The cabin had everything we could possibly need and wasn't too far from Ashland, but just far enough to feel like we were out far enough to enjoy our vacation.
The only issue we had was that the Internet only allowed 4 devices to connect (this included the TVs) and we were unable to get our computers to connect, so no access to some work/school things for the weekend.
I would stay here again and would recommend to friends. Clean and comfortable. Quiet little development right off Dead Indian Memorial Road. About 7 minutes to Lake of the Woods. Just under an hour to the rim of Crater Lake. Dogs and I had a great time.
30 miles from Ashland and Medford Oregon and few minutes from 4 different lakes. Great location for those that love the outdoors and don't mind the short drive from town.
