This Two Bedroom Two Bathroom Ground Floor Unit Sleeps Six And Has A Huge Lanai

There is no better place on Maui than Wailea, on the sunny south side of the island. Our recently updated Palms condo is a short walk to the famous Keawakapu and Ulua beaches, to several five-star hotels and to the many boutiques and restaurants at the Shops at Wailea. Three world class golf courses and the Wailea Tennis Club are a couple of minutes' drive from The Palms complex.

Our fully A/C home sleeps six comfortably and features:

* King bedroom opening to the lanai with ensuite large master bath

* Twin bedroom (can be converted to a king) with its own ensuite full bath

* An oversized sectional in the living room converts to a double/queen bed

* A huge covered lanai with new gas grill, ideal for afternoon cocktails, entertaining and barbecues, as well as quiet reading in the shade. The lanai faces a lovely lawn area, where your children can play under your watchful eyes. It is one of only three units that is fully handicapped accessible-- ideal for grandparents. And no suitcases to drag up and down the stairs :)

We live in Seattle, and have travelled to Hawaii often. The Wailea area on Maui is our absolute favorite with its pristine beaches and most reliably dry weather.

Why Eva Wahl chose South Maui

The Palms at Wailea #501 is a beautiful 2 bedroom 2 bath condo located on Maui's sunny, southwest shore. It boasts of a huge lanai surrounded by incredible gardens, and is one of only three units that are handicapped accessible. Our recently updated home has a fully-equipped kitchen, washer/dryer, high speed internet, sleeps six comfortably, and has boogie boards and beach chairs for your use.

This prime location provides immediate access to Wailea's pristine beaches, where swimming, kayaking, snorkeling, and scuba diving are easily available. Wailea is known for its world renowned golf courses, fine and casual dining, and specialty shops.

What makes this condo unique

Our unit is in a great location, away from the road and very quiet. The lanai overlooking the gardens is one of our favorite features. We love being able to take a short walk to Keawakapu beach, or a slightly longer walk to the Shops at Wailea, to pick up a paper or for morning coffee.

The Palms at Wailea is ideally located near some of the best beaches in Hawaii and a short walking distance to hotels, shopping and entertainment.

The pool area has a clubhouse with viewing tower, outdoor lounge area and a covered eating area complete with fridge, several tables, washrooms, and library area. There is an activity desk in the lobby and fabulous ocean views from here to watch the whales & view the tropical sunsets :)

Wonderful Location in Wailea

This was a welcome addition to our Hawaii vacation. The Palms are located walking distance to shops, great beaches with amazing snorkeling, and a great walking/jogging path. The complex has a large pool and hot tub area and the grounds are maintained beautifully. Eva responded very quickly when we had any questions. Everything was very clean- the grill right outside made it easy to cook our own meals.

We enjoyed our stay, and will definitely recommend this unit to friends and family who are visiting Maui. We were able to enjoy many activities throughout all of Maui since this was in a great location. (Including Sunrise Bike Tour to Haleakala, The road to Hana, The Maui Brewing Company, Scuba Diving, Mama's Fish House, and more! )

There is plenty of room to spread out and relax....

Excellent--just what was advertised

A beautifully situated condo in a very nice, quiet community in Wailea. Ground level with barbecue area made it easy to get get outside and to the pool and beaches close by--all by walking. The layout of the condo is nice, air conditioning in main rooms (unlike others that we visited in the same complex which only had cooling in one main bedroom). This condo is suitable for up to 4 people--perfect in fact. It was nicely appointed and we would certainly stay here again.

Disappointing stay

I have stayed at the Palms more than 10 times and did not have a positive experience with this owner. Upon our arrival the cleaning crew was still in the property and they asked us to come back in 30 minutes. We did and they were still there, making our check in 45 minutes late. After flying all day with three small children this was difficult for us, but we were willing to let that go. Then when we walked in the property had dirty, stained carpets and was extremely hot (they hadn't even turned the air conditioning on for us), the refrigerator had not been cleaned out either so we had to dispose of the previous tenants food. Now the owner is withholding part of our deposit citing excessive sand and dirty sheets when we paid an upfront cleaning fee. It is a shame because we had a lovely vacation with our three children and tried to work with the owner upon arrival. This seems unreasonable and unfair and I have never had any deposit withheld by any other owners at this complex.

Owner's Response: I am sorry you feel this way. You may notice that you are the first negative review and that I have had 28 positive ones in the two years since we bought this condo. Many of these reviews place special emphasis on my responsiveness and the ease of dealing with us. It is also the first time since we have owned the unit that housekeeping felt the need to email me photos after a renter's departure documenting the state in which they found the condo: mud and sand in the shower and on furniture, stained sheets, large quantities of garbage, ink stains in the bathroom sink...

Pleasant stay for a family of five!

Overall we had a very pleasant stay at this condo. It is very well situated close to great beaches, all the offerings of shops and restaurants at Wailea and Kihei as well as easy drive to Lahaina, Upcountry and Paia. The condo was spacious and comfortable with easy parking and easy access with keyless entry on the first day. The three AC units were more than adequate to keep the condo very cool when needed. It was a nice touch having a huge fresh fruit basket waiting for us on arrival. The washer/dryer were full sized and were great for the big loads of laundry we did. We also got great use out of the beach chairs, umbrella and sand toys provided by the condo.

We are frequent visitors to Maui so we really just needed a place to sleep, shower and wash our clothes as we were out most of the days and nights while we were there. We frankly spent very little time at the apartment.

On the downside, the furnishings are a little dated but comfortable. We used the pool only one day. Perhaps it was just our bad luck but it was over run with very rowdy families; parents drinking beer in the pool, kids diving head first in the shallow end, kids spitting water, etc. Obviously the condo has no control over what other guests use the facilities but it would be nice if someone from the property management enforced the rules better at the pool.

Having stayed at the very pricey villas at the Grand Wailea and at the Andaz on our two previous visits, this condo met our needs for a better price and therefore we would recommend staying here again.

Owner's Response: Brent: than you for your comments. I have brought up the issue of pool rules in the past as well. I forwarded your comments to the on -site manager. This was his response: "The staff and I do our best to enforce the pool rules as we attend to our regular work activities. I was at the pool three separate times yesterday advising people regarding the no alcohol rule, children’s parents about jumping off the side of the pool and food consumption limited to the lounge area. To date the Board has not seen it as a necessity to hire a pool attendant." I am sorry that your visit to the pool was not as pleasant as it otherwise might have been and I appreciate your input.
