Nice and cosy cottage. Clean charming and in a good spot to explore the peak districr
From Foolow you can explore a beautiful part of the Peakdistrict. Nice walks, lovely towns and villages. The pub opposite the cottage is good. You have to reserve a table in the weekends because its rather busy. Had a very nice week.
Cosy and welcoming
We enjoyed staying in this cottage very much. Foolow is a lovely little village. The cottage is warm and cosy and the new bathroom very impressive- thought the shower is a little different!
The kitchen is fairly well equipped. It was lovely of the owners to have milk and biscuits waiting on our arrival - an airtight container to keep the biscuits fresh so we could have enjoyed them at their best for longer would have been appreciated. Beds ans seats are comfortable, the dining table is compact!
A good place to stay.
The cottage was lovely, very cosy
We had a lovely stay it is a good area for walking
Lovely, quiet, well presented cottage
Accommodation was hard to fault. Everything is clean, comfortable and we'll presented with a pub conveniently across the road. New bathroom is very nice but the shower is a little difficult to not get water everywhere.
Cottage is in a beautiful location. Facilities were great - very clean and comfortable.
A very lovely cottage with nice surroundings. We had a very pleasant stay.
The perfection of the cottage is only matched by its location in the sleepy little village of Foolow snuggled up under the dramatic Hucklow Edge. This is a near perfect village gathered around the duck pond with its six white ducks, with the traditional Bulls Head pub renowned for its hearty meals and surrounded by lovely countryside that stretches as far as the eye can see.
There are few more peaceful spots yet there is also a vast array of visitor attractions within easy reach. Castleton's caverns, Chapel's wildlife sanctuary, the Derwent Valley Dams and wild Winnots Pass are all nearby. You might also fancy riding Peak Rail's steam trains or a tram at the National Tramway Museum between visits to Chatsworth House, Haddon Hall, Bakewell' famous market and Buxton' Victorian Crescent. Save an evening to visit the Barrel Inn at Bretton, high up on the Edge, and watch the sun set over the cottage.
