The house is directly on the shore of the lake and has a private dock and ground level patio with a fire pit. Located on a dead end, this home also has very little traffic and is a peaceful place. Boat rentals are available locally.
Local attractions include shopping at the Manchester Center Outlets (30 minutes) and skiing in the winter at Killington (1 hour). Granville, NY is a short 10 minute drive for convenient food shopping and casual dining.
We live is Dorset, Vermont where we own and run a local business. Dorset is only a short drive away, which makes us available if any problems should arise during your stay! We will be enjoying our first vacation at the lake house this year, and we are hoping we will be enjoying the property with our young son for many years to come! We purchased this property in the fall of 2014 and will be renting it out for the first time during the summer of 2015, so we don't yet have any reviews, but we are certain you will enjoy your stay!

A bit further SOUTH on route 30 you will find Dorset and further SOUTH on Route 30 Manchester.
This was a lovely property. Since I live only about an hour away, I went to see the property ahead of time and was pleased. Owners most helpful and pleasant. Excellent for outdoor living with dock, and swimming, large waterside patio with grill and deck off living room. Had all amenities--though not all new, they were fine. The wifi worked well. Plenty of room for more than the three of us who were staying there though more than three guests would need more living room seating and light in the colder weather. I understand from the owners that a few upgrades are still in process like the upstairs bath. Since we were there in the fall (mid October) the large maple next to the dock gave us glorious color, the house was heated, and we got out to see the lovely color in the surrounding countryside. We went to the Slate Museum in Granville which was excellent and were able to shop at the supermarket there. Poultney is not far to the north on Route 30 where there are restaurants (had lunch at Perry's) and shops. A bit further north on route 30 you will find Dorset and further still Manchester. We cooked at home for dinner, bringing our meals from Sissy's Kitchen which must be checked out in the warmer weather but open all year for take out.: 10 West St, Middletown Springs, VT 05757, United States www.sissyskitchen.com (802) 235-2000
All in all a most enjoyable stay for us. We would go back!
