Great place to stay and ski at Squaw/Alpine

  • 4 of 5

- Very close to Alpine/Squaw

- Comfortable beds and nice bathrooms/showers

- Very clean

- Lots of restaurants nearby

- Plenty of space for our family of 5

- Great tv

- Knocking off one start for no cell signal and no usable wifi. My husband had to spend a couple hours everyday at a nearby coffee shop to work. No wifi meant we couldn't even check the weather before leaving the house in the morning. Tahoe Moon was responsive to our inquiry about the wifi, but wasn't able to fix the issue.

Great spot, great value, great cause!

The rental has a very cabin type feel... well stocked with everything you need to prepare your own meals. Very comfortable beds, and much more room to move around than I was expecting.

Liked it so much we ended up staying an extra night!

Cozy and comfortable home in a quiet community; close to Tahoe City hubbub and services.

  • 4 of 5

My boyfriend and I just spent a week in Lake Tahoe and had a lovely experience in this home. The king-size bed was super comfortable and all the linens were high-quality and cozy. The property was spotless and everything worked well. A couple days before we got there we were told that the washer wasn't functional and that the property mgmt company couldn't have it serviced until nearly the end of our trip. This was bad news for us as we were counting on traveling light in our two-seater and washing our stinky hiking clothes midway. When I explained this to the property rep, they were on top of it and got it fixed before we arrived. Also, the DISH wasn't working when we first arrived and they sent someone over the next day to take care of it. SUPER customer service! The one criticism we had (which is why the four star rating) was that the kitchen was poorly appointed. There were four really crappy fry-pans and ZERO lids. Also, no tea kettle which seems like standard kitchen equipment. This sort of thing could be easily fixed w/ a $200 trip to Costco for a full set of cookware. Finally, the most epic bakery is within walking distance: Sugar Pine Bakery had THE MOST DELICIOUS pastries I've had outside of Paris, France! Seriously . . . if your waistline can handle it, do yourself a favor and make this a daily ritual.
