Three Bedroom, Beautiful View Home On The Bay, With Park-like Backyard

This conveniently located, single-story, three bedroom home with a view, on the bay, is the ideal spot to relax or wander about on 3.4 private acres and another adjacent 16 acres of seldom-used public land. The property has access to over a mile of nearly private beaches and many acres of clam-filled mudflats, a wetland teeming with waterfowl, and acres of diverse habitat providing for numerous bird species. The backyard is park-like and includes fire pits, easy walking paths to the beach, a photography and wildlife-viewing blind, several benches and hammocks on which to relax and enjoy the variety of views. Located near the South Slough National Estuarine Research Reserve; this property is an ideal place to launch a kayak, for a paddle into the reserve. The home is simple, convenient, and comfortable, with everything you need. There is lots of light from the West wall of picture windows, a patio, and garage space for your vehicle. The bedrooms consist of a master bedroom with queen bed and private full bath with separate tub and shower, a second bedroom with queen bed, and a third bedroom with full bed under single top bunk. All the beds are comfortable and include microfiber mattress covers for your protection. The main bathroom with shower is shared by the second two bedrooms. The living room is cozy with a woodburning stove, bay, wetland, forest, and ocean views, fast wifi, and cable TV.

We are a retired couple, John a federal wildlife biologist, Candy a swim coach and airline employee, and both former Nebraska farmers.

Why John and Candy Chatt chose Southern Coast

We moved to Coos Bay for a work transfer in 1999, and fell in love with the area. We felt very fortunate to have the opportunity to purchase this property. We recently acquired and moved into another home just 500 feet up Cape Arago Hwy. We think this property is a perfect place to share with others here in beautiful Charleston, on the southern coast of Oregon.

What makes this house unique

When we happened across this wonderful part of our country, we found the best overall climate we have ever encountered, fresh air, and plenty of room to wander to our heart's content, without the hustle and bustle found in so many other places. We love the diversity of habitats in the area and the associated diversity of bird species that are regularly seen. The views and solitude of walking on a private beach, through a forest or park, or marveling at a wetland ecosystem, provide a never-ending source of enjoyment and relaxation.

Bay Cove II is very conveniently located just across the bay from Charleston Harbor and less than a mile away by road. Charleston is an authentic fishing village and the entire area remains an unspoiled gem on the Oregon Coast. The area is a birdwatching paradise for shorebirds and seabirds, as well as other species in the diverse habitat in the area. Harbor seals and sea lions are abundant and easily seen throughout the area. Whale watching is popular from several scenic points along Cape Arago Hwy, and the Shore Acres Formal Flower Gardens and holiday light display, scenic coastal hiking trails, and exploring tidepools are popular attractions, along with spectacular wave watching during winter storms. Our location is on the bay near the beginning of the South Slough National Estuarine Reserve, and we can assist you with advice, maps, and tide info for a great kayak adventure into the Slough. Crabbing and clamming is available from the docks and the mudflats of the backyard.

Super, Clean, Neat- Great location

Four adults and one child spent two days before X-Mas holidays. John & Candy were great to accommodate our arrival and stay. This is a fully stocked and furnished home. Would definitely recommend and return on the next trip to Coos Bay, also a great value.

Beautiful and feels like home

We had a wonderful time at John and Candy's house. They have a beautiful space that instantly feels like home. We throughly enjoyed all the wildlife and land to explore while staying here. We definitely can't wait to come back!

The best beach house yet!

We have stayed at 3 different homes on the coast for the last 3 years and this was our favorite. The house is comfortable with a great view. The garage allows for some elbow room for kids. They didn't know how much they liked ping pong until playing it in the garage. The yard between the house & the beach is fantastic! I had been a little concerned that the sand could possibly be muddy being a little inland, but it was fine. My grandkids range 12, 10, 6 & two 4 year olds. It's an extremely safe beach with a nice gradual decline & practically no waves, so I didn't have to worry about some bizarre accident. My son & grandkids dug clams at low tide. It was a lot of fun. We hope to do it again next year.

Very Fun!

The property was amazing. Everything went well. The backyard was a lot bigger than any of us expected. Nice plants around the front and back yard. There are even some blackberry bushes around too.

Enjoy a relaxing golf game at nearby Sunset Bay Golf course (7 minutes away) or travel 19 miles to the world famous Bandon Dunes courses. Crabbing and clamming is available from the docks and the mudflats, and we would be glad to to provide a crab trap or a bucket and shovel for clamming along with a few pointers, and maybe even a demonstration to get you started.

RENTAL AGREEMENT
RENTAL RULES

1. All of the units are privately owned; the owners are not responsible for any accidents, injuries or illness that occurs while on the premises or its facilities. The Homeowners are not responsible for the loss of personal belongings or valuables of the guest. By accepting this reservation, it is agreed that all guests are expressly assuming the risk of any harm arising from their use of the premises or others whom they invite to use the premise.

2. People other than those in the guest party indicated in reservation may not stay overnight in the property. Any other person in the property is the sole responsibility of Guest.

3. No camping is permitted on the property unless previous arrangements are made, and the owner is fully informed on all aspects of a camping request.

4. No smoking is allowed anywhere on the property. Evidence of smoking will result in the loss of your security deposit.

5. Pets are NOT allowed anywhere on the property. Violation of this rule could result in the loss of damage deposit.

6. Crab cooking indoors is not allowed. We provide a large pot and a propane cooker for outdoor cooking, to avoid lingering odors indoors.

7. Keep the property and all furnishings in good order.

8. Only use appliances for their intended uses.

9. Parking: Vehicles are to be parked in designated parking areas only. Parking on the road is not permitted. Any illegally parked cars are subject to towing; applicable fines/towing fees are the sole responsibility of the vehicle owner. No overnight parking for anyone except the guest party indicated in the reservation.

10. Housekeeping: There is no daily housekeeping service. While linens and bath towels are included in the unit, daily maid service is not included in the rental rate.

11. Acceptance: When payment is made, it implies that this rental agreement has been read and accepted by the traveler.
